Top 5 Reasons Fortnite Took Over the World

They don’t call it a worldwide phenomenon for nothing! Welcome to, and today, we’re counting down our picks for the Top 5 Reasons Fortnite Took Over the World!

For this list, we’re looking at the reasons why everyone and their cat is playing the game you don’t stop hearing about, Fortnite.

#5: Easy Accessibility

Whether it’s on console or on a computer, this is a game where anyone can easily learn how to play. You drop in, pick up the nearest weapon, get in the circle, and shoot anyone who stands in your way. Easy! On top of that, the basic weaponry keeps things simple while still allowing room for different playstyles. And the ranking system? Some might find it a little time-consuming, but even if you aren’t the best player, “Fortnite” offers a variety of ways to level up, such as the weekly challenges. “Fortnite” is the perfect example of easy to play, difficult to master.

#4: Celebrities Play It

Literally, EVERYBODY is playing this game! Okay, well, maybe not your mom or dad, but your friends are most likely talking about it all the time. Who knew the community would start attracting big-time celebrities, too? You’re probably thinking of Drake from that time he played with Ninja, but there are many other celebrities. Roseanne Barr has earned twenty Solo victories...supposedly. Finn Wolfhard of “Stranger Things” streams Fortnite in his spare time and Josh Hart of the Los Angeles Lakers owns a custom pair of Fortnite basketball shoes! The community is massive, and you’ll be lucky to find yourself in a game with a celebrity.

#3: Cross-Platform

“Fortnite” is available to play on almost every gaming platform. As your playing on your PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, or mobile device, you may not realize it, but you might have some players who are on other devices. Basically, you can play with almost anyone, no matter what device they’re on. However, for the servers to function properly and keep matches fair, there are a few restrictions on this, such as Solo matches only taking place on the same platform you’re on. With the game boasting 3.4 million concurrent players, there’s always a game waiting for you to join!

#2: Stream Friendly

The battle royal genre has always done well with streaming, but those games can have a lot of downtime between dropping in, looting, and making your way to a fight. But Fortnite keeps the intensity up, with a smaller, more open map and faster paced combat. This makes it an enormous amount of fun to watch on Twitch and those big, wacky moments that make good streaming entertainment come up often. More so than most other shooters, Fortnite is really easy to get into and follow for audiences, even if they don't play the game themselves. Plus, Epic games keeps really involved in the community, and it's only a matter of time before we get a skin based off Ninja.

#1: It’s FREE!

Video games are expensive these days. So, if you’ve been hesitant on trying out Fortnite, you don’t have to worry about spending money to have fun. The game is free-to-play! The “Fortnite” you may have seen on store shelves is the original sandbox survival game. The only time you have to spend money is if you see a customizable item you really want, or if you don’t have enough V-bucks to get the season’s Battle Pass. Even if you have given the game a shot and didn’t enjoy it, at least you didn’t throw away forty to sixty bucks, so whats the harm in trying?
