Top 10 Stranger Things Props the Actors Stole From Set

#10: Eddie's Shirt & Shoes
Joseph Quinn
As the Hawkins gang experiences high school life in season 4, a number of new characters are introduced, which is certainly not out of the ordinary for “Stranger Things.” What was a little different about this season, though, was just how quickly one of the newbies became a fan favorite. The nonconformist president of the Hellfire Club wasn’t afraid to stand out from the crowd. With his curly mane and rock alt vibe, it’s no wonder Mike and Dustin looked up to the Dungeons and Dragons master. Actor Joseph Quinn must have enjoyed his Eddie Munson wardrobe as much as we did, because he’s admitted to snagging his character’s Reebok high tops, as well as more than a few Hellfire Club T-shirts.
#9: Mystery Item
Caleb McLaughlin
Lucas Sinclair definitely has his moments of suspicion while dealing with his fellow monster fighters. So is it any wonder that actor Caleb McLaughlin is wary of revealing the prop he stole from set? During a Collider interview, McLaughlin revealed that he made off with something from season 3. What could it be? Maybe one of the totally tubular hats he wore that season? Or perhaps his iconic bandana from wardrobe? It could have also been one of the 80’s style snacks he was always munching on, vut we’re hoping it was the wrist rocket he used to distract the Mind Flayer in Starcourt Mall. That would be one heck of a keepsake!
#8: Socks
Millie Bobby Brown
In her time as Hawkins’ super powered defender, Eleven has gone through many distinctive looks. Still, it’s hard to say the first two seasons of El’s costumes would include much anyone would want to take home. Nevertheless, that didn’t stop Millie Bobby Brown from finding something to keep. We’re willing to bet it was a total accident but, Brown mentioned in an interview that she has some of Eleven’s socks. The costume department was very careful to make sure that everything was true to the ‘80s time period for the show, so maybe they’re a pair of distinctly ‘80s socks! We hear they’re very stylish when worn with heels.
#7: Gap Clothes
Millie Bobby Brown
At the beginning of season 3, Eleven and Max have a fun girls day out at Starcourt Mall. Max encourages her sheltered friend to explore her own style instead of dressing the way she’s been conditioned to. The duo thoroughly enjoy their shopping spree, and Eleven’s colorful choices certainly typify the 1980s. It’s no wonder, then, that Millie Bobby Brown couldn’t resist making off with a few of the vintage display pieces. She confessed that she helped herself to some corduroy jeans and a striped T-shirt from the Gap in the Starcourt Mall. Does it count as shoplifting if the store is fake? Either way, we hope Chief Hopper doesn’t find out.
#6: Underwear
Noah Schnapp
Noah Schnapp has made it clear that he isn’t a huge fan of Will Byers’ fashion sense – which, fair enough. He’s been sporting a bowl cut for four seasons, despite his requests for a new look. Will is often the most awkward of the group, so maybe Schnapp wasn’t tempted to make off with any of the costumes. However, he did confess to taking home some of Will’s underwear. It’s possible ‘80s undergarments are more comfortable… but, this sounds like another one of those accidental swipes. A better idea, though, is to suspect competition between Schnapp and Millie Bobby Brown to see who could bring home the weirdest item. Her stolen socks are odd, but the underwear is clearly the winner.
#5: A Tank & Cigarettes
Dacre Montgomery
Billy, Max’s rebellious older brother, made his season 2 debut with a definite bad-boy vibe, confidently sauntering through every scene with a Marlboro Red in hand. On a Reddit thread, actor Dacre Montgomery shared that he’d brought home a pack of Billy’s cigarettes. He also took home a tank top. Since this was what he wore to fight the Mind Flayer, we can see why it would be a significant memento. These items were probably pretty easy to sneak off set too! Then again, he might have just used some of Billy’s wild driving skills to make a clean getaway.
#4: Vial of Blood
Millie Bobby Brown
One of the most frequently used props for Eleven is the blood that so frequently drips from her nose. While it’s definitely a staple for her character, we’ll be the first to say it: It’s a weird thing to take as a souvenir. Yet, to Millie Bobby Brown it seemed like a natural choice, so maybe we’re the odd ones out here. In an early Variety interview, Brown explained that she keeps a little bottle of the red concoction in her memento box. It has a place next to the lipsticks from all of the awards shows she’s attended and her winning MTV envelope. Okay, we take it back - that’s actually kind of cute.
#3: Warming Jacket
Sadie Sink
The self-assured skater, Max, shook up the Hawkins group with her fiery personality. So, you’d think she’d have no trouble keeping her temperature up! However, actress Sadie Sink revealed that she ended up with a warming jacket from wardrobe. She reassured everyone that it was just a hoodie and a total accident that she even took it in the first place. Don’t worry, Sadie, you’re not the only cast member who somehow ended up with items from the set. Hopefully it doesn’t happen again, or the crew might just have the actress running up hills to stay warm.
#2: Leftover Tattoos
Millie Bobby Brown
From the first appearance of Eleven, the tattoo on her wrist has been a significant piece of her character’s mysterious past. Eventually, we learn that every child at the Hawkins Lab was tattooed with a number. After her first season, Millie Bobby Brown was impressed with the stick-on tattoos and their longevity. She even confessed to taking some of the extra tattoos home. Luckily, she’s unlikely to get in trouble for snagging those extra numbers now, given that she’s since permanently inked the tattoo on her wrist. She not only has a memento that will never fade, but she’s made life easier for her makeup crew too!
#1: Roller Skates
Noah Schnapp
The roller skating rink for season 4 not only caused ‘80s flashbacks for audience members but provided great fun for the actors. In an interview, Schnapp explained that the cast had a great time goofing around on the Rink-O-Mania set, especially during lunch breaks where they’d skate to modern tunes. As the show rolls closer to its final season, it makes sense that the actors would want to collect more mementos of their time together, and Schnapp might have taken home the coolest of them all. He had everyone sign one of his skates, and now keeps it in his room. This only leaves us with one question: What happened to the other skate?!
