#10: John Cho & Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson

Also in:

John Cena VS The Rock

Famous for playing one half of the cinematic stoner duo “Harold & Kumar,” John Cho looks incredible for his age, making 47 look like 27. Still rocking a full head of jet-black hair, Cho is an inspiration to members of the 40+ crowd still clinging to the looks of their youth. On the other end of the spectrum is Dwayne Johnson, who despite adding a new muscle to his body every year looks a lot older than he actually is thanks to his bald head and ever-greying beard. And while we have no doubt that he could probably bench press John Cho, the fact remains that he looks considerably older than the man.

#9: Elijah Wood & Tom Hiddleston

How is it that a guy like Elijah Wood, who’s been in the film business since the 80s, could be considered younger than a dashing British actor like Tom Hiddleston? Well, for starters, he’s a total baby face, whereas Hiddleston has a more debonair look reminiscent of old Hollywood actors like Cary Grant and Rock Hudson. Wood also tends to take on goofier roles, like the character of Ryan Newman on “Wilfred.” Hiddleston, on the other hand, is almost always a leading man, especially in period pieces and dramas. We love ‘em equally, but never thought we’d say that they’re both 38!

#8: Ariana Grande & Cardi B

Also in:

Ariana Grande Impressions VS the Actual Person

You may be surprised to learn that these two music heavyweights were born within a year of each other: Cardi B in October 1992 and Ari in June 1993.After all, Ariana Grande still looks like she could pass for a high school student and Cardi B looks like she could pass for Grande’s mother. Additionally, Grande is a former Nickelodeon star who for years was the poster child for squeaky clean celebs. Cardi B’s music, on the other hand, isn’t exactly what you’d call “family friendly,” which is ironic because she recently became a mother herself! With her affinity for all things pink and ponytailed hair, it’s easy to see why people would think Ariana Grande is much younger than Cardi B.

#7: Tobey Maguire & Russell Brand

Okay, now this one really threw us for a loop. Tobey Maguire has seemingly been a Hollywood leading man for decades. In fact, when Maguire was starring in films like “Pleasantville” and “Spider-Man," Russell Brand was still a complete unknown. And even after Brand broke through with roles in films like “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and “Get Him to the Greek,” Maguire was still one of Hollywood’s hottest stars. Then again, the real reason these two don’t look the same age is because, well, they don’t look the same age. Maguire’s the quintessential baby face and Brand looks like he’s really lived it up. In the end, they’re both 44.

#6: Kate Upton & Selena Gomez

Despite her immense beauty, there’s no denying that Kate Upton looks considerably older than baby-faced popstar Selena Gomez. Tack on the fact that she’s married with a child and it’s hard to imagine that Gomez could be her peer. Alas, it’s the truth. Upton and Gomez were both born in 1992. Seeing as how Gomez has been in the entertainment business since she was a child and Upton only achieved mainstream success in adulthood, it’s understandable that people would see the latter as being a little older.

#5: Sarah Hyland & Jennifer Lawrence

Also in:

Whatever Happened to Sarah Michelle Gellar?

When you play a teenager on a popular sitcom for years, people are bound to think you’re younger than you actually are. Alternatively, if you’re a leading lady with multiple Oscar nominations (not to mention a win), who’s appeared in everything from period pieces and comedies to major Hollywood blockbusters, it’s only natural that the viewing public will assume you’re a seasoned vet. Well, it turns out that “Modern Family”’s Sarah Hyland and Academy Award-winner Jennifer Lawrence are both the ripe old age of 28. Hopefully Hyland can shed her small screen image and start nabbing some J-Law caliber roles in the future!

#4: Carly Rae Jepsen & Chrissy Teigen

Carly Rae Jepsen burst onto the scene in 2012 with her hit single “Call Me Maybe,” a song clearly tailored to the teenage demographic. Jepsen has never really shed her “teen pop” roots, which is probably why people tend to think she’s younger than say, Chrissy Teigen. The model and TV personality may act goofy, but there’s no denying that she has a much more mature look compared to Jepsen; and her well-publicized marriage to John Legend only adds to the perceived age gap. Well, the truth is that Jepsen and Teigen are both 33!

#3: Avril Lavigne & Katy Perry

Avril Lavigne was just 18 years old when she released “Let Go,” her seminal 2002 album that sold upwards of 20 million copies. This would prove to be the peak of her career and in the years that followed her popularity slowly waned. Alternatively, Katy Perry burst onto the pop music scene in 2008 and has remained a fixture in the entertainment industry ever since. Seeing as how they peaked at different times, it can be easy to assume that one is older than the other. However, both Perry and Lavigne are still just 34 years old.

#2: Jim Parsons & Andrew Lincoln

Also in:

Top 20 Celebs Who Ruined Their Careers in 2020

When you start to break down the career-defining roles of these two actors, you start to see why people might assume they aren’t the same age. Jim Parsons is famous for playing a baby-faced super genius who’s obsessed with “Star Trek.” Andrew Lincoln is best known for his work on “The Walking Dead,” where he played a grizzled zombie killer who can barely crack a smile due to all the horrors he’s witnessed. Parsons looks like he still gets carded when he goes to bars and Lincoln looks like he’s just a few years away from being the new Dos Equis guy. Shockingly, they’re were both born in 1973.

#1: Chuck Norris & Michael Gambon

We’ll just come right out and say it: 1940. That's the year both of these cinematic legends were born. However, it would appear that their age and profession are the only two things they have in common. Chuck Norris looks like he could still go 15 rounds with Bruce Lee, whereas Michael Gambon looks like… this. Perhaps his time playing Albus Dumbledore in the “Harry Potter” film franchise aged him a bit; the Hogwarts Headmaster was roughly 150 after all. Age is just a number, but if we had to guess which of these two actors will still be doing his thing in his 90s, we’ll have to go with Norris. Just look at that beard!
