Coming to Netflix: March 26th, 2021 After not one but two Borat films, is there really any mileage left in feature length prank movies? Yes, yes there is. And comedy deviant and all-around wildman Eric André is here to prove it. Teaming up with Lil Rel Howery, André takes viewers on what can only be described as American road trip from hell. Though the film follows a loose narrative, it’s really just an excuse to pull some truly outlandish hidden camera pranks. If you’ve seen his unconventional talk show, you know that Eric André has mastered the art of pushing the limits and making people uncomfortable. This is no exception. Fun fact: Eric André actually screened the movie for the master hidden camera pranks himself, Sacha Baron Cohen.

Coming to Netflix: March 3rd, 2021 Adapted from the Jennifer Mathieu novel of the same name, “Moxie” is a comedy-drama directed by the ever-excellent Amy Poehler. The film follows a sixteen year Vivian Carter as she navigates the mess that is adolescence. Taking a cue from the troublemaking past of her mother, Vivian pushes back against the sexism of her surroundings in the form of a zine. Now, Netflix loves its coming-of-age stories, but “Moxie” is seemingly cut from a different cloth and has been described as more of a “coming-of-rage” tale. Vivian’s actions actually risk sparking a high school revolution.
#8: “Solar Opposites” (2020-) Season 2
Coming to Hulu: March 26th, 2021 For those who can’t get enough “Rick and Morty”, an entire season of “Solar Opposites” is great news. It’s not only co-created by Rick and Morty’s Justin Roiland, but also boasts a similar art style and twisted sense of humor. While the series hasn’t generated a fandom of quite the same intensity as the aforementioned property, it is an excellent show in its own right. For those who missed the intergalactic memo, “Solar Opposites” centers a family of extraterrestrials who, for better or worse, find themselves trying to carve out a life in America—if only temporarily. Season 2 promises more wacky misadventures, surprising insights into humanity and aliens with big hearts—among...other big things.

Coming to Apple TV+: March 12th, 2021 Tom Holland has become a household name thanks to his role as Peter Parker in the MCU. While he makes for a convincing high school superhero, he’s also got some serious dramatic acting chops. After his impressive turn in “The Devil All the Time”, he’s showcasing his many faces in “Cherry”. Adapted from Nico Walker’s novel by the same, “Cherry” sees Holland reuniting with the Russo Brothers for an extremely human tale of trauma and desperation. Cherry is a man who wears many faces over the course of his life. We follow his trajectory from hopeful young man, to soldier, to addict and bank robber. This film ventures into rather dark territory, but it promises to be a moving journey.

Coming to Prime Video: March 26th, 2021 AMC’s “The Walking Dead” may have overstayed its welcome, but that doesn’t make us any less excited for the next big adaptation of a Robert Kirkman comic. “Invincible” ran for 144 issues and told one of the most compelling superhero stories in modern comic book history. While a live-action iteration would have been cool, an animated series is more true to the candy-hued pages of the original comics. It might be a cartoon, but this show is not for kids. By the looks of the trailer, the producers are honoring the excessively violent source material. This is your classic tale of a teenage hero discovering the burden that comes with great power, but it’s also so much more.

Coming to Disney+: March 5th, 2021 These are strange times. Under normal circumstances, “Raya and the Last Dragon” should have been Disney’s big tentpole animated feature for the year. The box office numbers likely would have been massive. It’s still getting a theatrical release, but it’s also simultaneously being released on Disney+. It’s worth noting, however, that this will be a premium access title, meaning you’ll need to pay an extra $30. For your money, however, you’re getting what promises to be a truly stunning work of narrative art. The film centers on Raya, a young warrior tasked with saving her people from monstrous forces. To do so, she’ll need to find the last dragon in Kumandra. We hope you’ve got a big screen at home, because this looks epic.

Coming to Prime Video: March 5th, 2021 While the 21st century has seen Eddie Murphy largely retreat from the limelight, he’s finally returning to one of his classic characters. And if we ever needed a dose of nostalgic comedy, it’s now. A follow-up to the 1988 film “Coming to America” (spelled with a “T-O” the first time around), this sequel sees Prince Akeem Joffer poised to be crowned king of Zamunda. As it turns out however, he’s got a son living in the Big Apple, and so he’s making a return trip to America in order to fulfill his father’s last wish. Let’s hope this is only the beginning of Eddie Murphy returning to his classic roles!

Coming to Disney+: March 19th, 2021 It’s been a long and nerve wracking wait, but it’s finally here! “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” suffered release delays, production shutdowns and behind-the-scenes rumors of disaster. Based on the trailers however, this series looks like an epic story with scope worthy of Captain America himself. After the initial success of “Wandavision”, fans are anxious to sink their teeth into Marvel’s next big budget series. Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan have star power to spare as Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson. But we can also look forward to Daniel Brühl returning as Baron Helmut Zemo—and now in his iconic purple mask no less. For anyone missing that epic MCU action, it kicks off again with the season premiere March 19th.

Coming to HBO Max: March 18th, 2021 The fans spoke. They campaigned, they tweeted and they made their voices heard. It was a long journey and more than once, we may have thought to ourselves “it’s never going to happen”. But eventually, the folks at Warner Bros. listened and Zack Snyder’s original vision for Justice League is finally seeing the light of day. Will it live up to the hype? Only time will tell. Like most Zack Snyder films, we expect a divisive reaction. But based on the trailers and all the behind-the-scene teasers we’ve gotten to date, we can say one thing for certain—this is going to be epic. Coming to HBO Max: March 31st, 2021 Critics and haters be damned, we’re ready for some kaiju action! Yes, some fans grew concerned when the release date for this movie got pushed up to March; some went so far as to call it a “dump tactic”. But hey, maybe Christmas just came early? For all its shortcomings, “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” delivered in terms of spectacle. Now with Godzilla and Kong set to square off (and the suggestion of a larger threat in the shadows), we seem poised to get an even bigger show than last time. This is what the Monsterverse has been building up to and it’s got all the fixings of a perfect popcorn flick. For better or worse, the results are guaranteed to be explosive.
