Top 10 Disney Couples Who Are Definitely Still Together
Welcome to MsMojo, and today we’re counting down our picks for the Top 10 Disney Couples Who Are Definitely Still Together. For this list, we’ll be looking at the best romantic pairings from the studio’s films that have what it takes to last forever. Live-action and Pixar couples deserve their own lists, so as iconic as “The Incredibles”’ Bob and Helen and “Enchanted”’s Giselle and Robert are, you won’t find them here. Plot points will be discussed, so beware of potential spoilers! Which of these duos do you think are relationship goals? Let us know in the comments!
#10: Belle & Beast [aka Adam]
“Beauty and the Beast” (1991)
It’s a tale as old as time, and what a timeless tale it is. We want to start by saying that it’s never okay to hold someone captive. And there are some rather problematic elements in “Beauty and the Beast” because of this. However, there’s no denying that as Belle and Beast get to know each other, they fall hard and forge a connection that runs deep. The proof is in the fact that he lets her go, and she goes back of her own free will! She brings out the humanity in him, literally and figuratively, while he understands her desire for more than her provincial life and values who she is. So they’re definitely still dancing and reading together today.
#9: Duchess & Thomas
“The Aristocats” (1970)
It’s true what they say, opposites attract! Thomas O’Malley is an alley cat who’s rough around the edges, while Duchess is used to the finer things in life. But they’re one royally adorable couple. The pair meet after Duchess and her kittens are left stranded by Edgar the evil butler. They’re instantly infatuated with one another, but it turns out to be more than a surface level connection. O’Malley helps the feline family find their way back to their owner, Madame. In doing so, he finds his own home with them, becoming a partner and father. They say cats have nine lives, and we bet Duchess and Thomas would choose to be together, raising the kids in every single one.
#8: Mulan & Li Shang
“Mulan” (1998)
Love was probably the last thing on Mulan’s mind when she pretended to be a man in order to take her dad’s place in the army. But she finds it with Li Shang, and we’re so glad she does. Sure, it takes him a second to adjust once he learns she’s a woman. But he ends up adoring everything that makes Mulan, well, Mulan. Even though the 1998 film teases a romance more than anything, we’re hooked from the minute the pair lay eyes on each other. Things get bumpy in the sequel and they briefly split up, but hey, all couples fight! The important thing is that they work through it and ultimately reaffirm their love. We’re confident they’ll keep doing that forever.
#7: Jasmine & Aladdin
“Aladdin” (1992)
True love transcends wealth or status, and Jasmine and Aladdin are proof of that. They’re both looking for something deeper in life. He’s struggling to make ends meet, while she’s yearning for true companionship and freedom from the rules that bind her as a royal. Of course, they find those things in each other. It feels like fate connects them, and we highly doubt that what they have is temporary. We’ll take a second to say that Aladdin shouldn’t have lied about his identity – but the thing is, Jasmine is no fool, and if she can forgive him, so can we. They discover a whole new romantic world, and embark on a gorgeous journey that’ll last a lifetime.
#6: Nala & Simba
“The Lion King” (1994)
Is there anything better than childhood friends growing up to become the cutest couple? We don’t think so! When Scar makes Simba believe he’s responsible for his father Mufasa’s death, the cub runs away. Because of this, he doesn’t see his bestie Nala again until they’re both adults. You might think that all those years and distance made them strangers, yet it feels like no time has passed because they have a strong foundation. The only difference is that now, the romantic spark between them is undeniable, and it becomes clear they’re meant to be even before he returns home. We honestly can’t think of a better couple to have leading the Pride Lands. We’re pretty sure Mufasa would more than approve.
#5: Chicha & Pacha
“The Emperor's New Groove” (2000)
We know “The Emperor’s New Groove” is about Kuzco’s growth as a person, but we’d say it’s about time the couple in the movie gets the credit they deserve! Chicha and Pacha have a healthy, functional, grown-up relationship. By the time we meet them, they’ve already built a great life and are raising a wonderful family. It genuinely feels like they have a true partnership – they tackle everyday life as a team, and respect each other deeply. It’s the kind of special bond that has everything it takes to last, and that people spend their lives searching for. This couple is often overlooked, but if you ask us, they’re going to go the distance.
#4: Tiana & Naveen
“The Princess and the Frog” (2009)
Get you someone who looks at you the way Tiana and Naveen look at each other while Ray sings “Ma Belle Evangeline”! In all seriousness, they go from strangers who can barely tolerate each other to a power couple for the ages, and we’re so here for it. Tiana helps Prince Naveen unlock his true potential, unearthing a loving, supportive man hidden underneath the privilege and ego. Meanwhile, he doesn’t try to change her, and in fact helps her loosen up and fulfill her dream of owning her very own restaurant. That’s romance, and not the kind with an expiration date. As crazy as this might sound, turning into frogs was the absolute best thing that could have happened to these two!
#3: Anna & Kristoff
“Frozen” franchise (2013-)
Disney movies are often critiqued for failing to establish fleshed-out romances. We thought “Frozen” might fall into that trap when the secretly awful Hans showed up, but we’ve never been so happy to be wrong. When Anna and Kristoff meet, they get to know and like each other – no rash proposals in sight. Throughout the film, their relationship blossoms and turns romantic, and we believe in it. Their banter is unmatched, their dynamic is enchanting, and their love is palpable. They also embrace each other’s families. All of that remains true in the sequel, because what they have is real. We can imagine them years in the future, elderly and still making each other laugh. It’s the stuff more fairytales should be made of.
#2: Minnie & Mickey
“Mickey Mouse” franchise (1928-)
If you look up sweethearts in the dictionary, we bet you’d find a picture of Minnie and Mickey Mouse. Okay, so that’s not true, but it fully should be! They’re basically the quintessential wholesome Disney couple, and for good reason. Not only are they super cute, but they genuinely care for and see the best in one another. They’re also willing to sacrifice to make each other happy, consistently prioritizing and nurturing their relationship. What they share is simultaneously fresh and timeless, which is a true testament to the strength of the partnership. What more could you ask for?! Minnie and Mickey have been going strong for decades, and we have zero reason to believe that’ll ever change.
Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.

Perdita & Pongo, “One Hundred and One Dalmatians” (1961)

Nani & David, “Lilo & Stitch” (2002)

Megara & Hercules, “Hercules” (1997)
They’re a Match Made in Mount Olympus
Lady & Tramp, “Lady and the Tramp” (1955)
It’s More Than Just Puppy Love
#1: Rapunzel & Flynn [aka Eugene]
“Tangled” franchise (2010-)
In 2010, “Tangled” modernized the story of Rapunzel, creating nuanced characters and giving us an iconic love story in the process. We never tire of watching this duo’s feelings develop during their adventure, because there’s something so sweet and gentle between them. They give us butterflies, which says it all! Most importantly, they’re willing to sacrifice everything to save one another, which is the ultimate selfless act of love. If they ever break up, well, that would mean that romance has actually died. Don’t worry though, we don’t think that’ll ever happen. The media that continued the franchise simply confirmed what we knew after watching “Tangled,” If there’s any couple that has what it takes to truly live happily ever after, it’s Rapunzel and Flynn.
