VOICE OVER: Kirsten Ria Squibb WRITTEN BY: Emma Schell
These celebrity couple meeting stories are like something right out of a rom-com. Our countdown includes Samira Wiley & Lauren Morelli, Matt Damon & Luciana Barroso, Ashton Kutcher & Mila Kunis, and more!

#10: Samira Wiley & Lauren Morelli

Samira and Lauren first met on the show 'Orange Is The New Black,’ where Samira played inmate Poussey Washington, and Lauren worked as a screenwriter and producer on the Netflix original. According to Samira, her admiration for her now-wife began before the couple had even met when she had read the script for an episode of the show Lauren wrote. However, at the time of their first encounter, Morelli was married to her former husband and was just starting to question her sexuality. During that process, Lauren has stated that she “fell in love with [Samira]” who had become a “confidant to [Lauren]”. Shortly after Morelli’s divorce, the two began dating and have since gotten married.

#9: Gwen Stefani & Blake Shelton

NBC’s “The Voice” may primarily be known for giving a platform to aspiring musicians, but it has also given us one of Hollywood’s most beloved power couples. While appearing together as judges on Season 9 of the show, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani made no attempts to hide their attraction to each other as they openly flirted in between performances and even on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” So, it came as no surprise when they announced they were in a relationship in November 2015. Since then, Blake and Gwen have provided us with nothing less than a storybook romance as they’ve released multiple captivating duets together and have recently gotten engaged!

#8: Andy Samberg & Joanna Newsom

The actor and musician were already mutual fans of each other when they met backstage at one of Newsom’s concerts. But the meeting itself was thanks to Fred Armisen, who was not only one of Samberg’s fellow “Saturday Night Live” cast members, but he had also brought him to the show! Earlier that night, Newsom had been serendipitously watching “Just 2 Guyz,” a music video produced by Samberg’s comedy trio, The Lonely Island. When they were introduced, Newsom referenced Samberg’s small but hilarious appearance in the digital short, while Samberg was surprisingly more reserved. The pair got married in 2013, with another SNL alum, Seth Meyers, acting as one of Samberg’s groomsmen, and they welcomed a daughter four years later.

#7: Matt Damon & Luciana Barroso

Matt Damon and his wife Luciana Barroso may keep their relationship super low-key, but that can’t stop us from swooning over their undeniably cute love story. The two met at a Miami nightclub that Luciana worked at, which Matt went to while in the city filming for his movie “Stuck on You.” While at the club, fans began to approach Damon and in order to escape their prying attention, he found an escape with Barroso behind the bar. In true Matt Damon fashion, he began helping out behind the bar, which, according to Luciana, earned her many tips! The couple seemingly hit it off during their short stint. They have been married since 2005 and have 4 daughters together, one from Barroso’s previous marriage.

#6: Stanley Tucci & Felicity Blunt

Not only did Emily Blunt and John Krasinski’s wedding take place at George Clooney’s Lake Como villa with guests that featured the likes of Meryl Streep, Jimmy Kimmel, and Matt Damon, but it is also where Stanley Tucci met his now-wife, and Emily’s older sister, Felicity Blunt. Apparently, love was in the air at that wedding because the two got married just over two years later. What’s even more incredible about their story is that Tucci revealed in a podcast with Marc Maron that Felicity and his late-wife Kate, who passed away in 2009, had actually met briefly at the premiere of his movie “The Devil Wears Prada.” If that’s not fate, we don’t know what is.

#5: Serena Williams & Alexis Ohanian

While sparking up a conversation about rats may not seem all that romantic, it did lead tennis world champion Serena Williams and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian to love. Williams and Ohanian met at a hotel they were both staying at in Rome when Alexis chose to sit at a table Serena and her team were planning to use. In an attempt to get Ohanian to leave, one of Willaims' friends lied about there being a rat at the table but in true New Yorker fashion, Ohanian didn't budge. Apparently that impressed Serena because she invited him to her tennis match later that day, where we’re assuming that the two hit it off because they have since gotten married and welcomed their daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian.

#4: Ashton Kutcher & Mila Kunis

Top 20 Times Ashton Kutcher & Mila Kunis Made Us Believe in Love

It’s no secret Mila and Ashton met on the hit television series “That ‘70s Show” where they played love interests Jackie and Kelso. However, Kunis’s young age (which she famously hid from casting directors) kept them from ever being involved romantically - or at least while they were on the show together. Mila has stated that Ashton was her first kiss and that while she was on the show she had the “biggest crush on him.” Didn’t we all? Despite their characters' romance and Mila’s innocent teenage crush, Ashton and Mila went their separate ways in life after departing from the show before reconnecting at the 2012 Golden Globe Awards - and the rest is history.

#3: Reese Witherspoon & Jim Toth

Not only has Reese Witherspoon starred in some of the most well-known romantic comedies in Hollywood, but her love life has also found a way of resembling one. The actress and producer first met her now-husband Jim Toth after a less than polite friend of Toth's began aggressively hitting on her at a party. Seeing his friend's bad behavior, Jim stepped in and apologized to Reese. According to Reese, this showed her what a good friend and person Toth was, obviously leaving enough of a good impression on her that she married him after only a year of dating. Witherspoon must be a good judge of character because the two have been happily married since 2011.

#2: Carey Mulligan & Marcus Mumford

While Carey and Marcus have made it big in their respective film and music careers, when they first met they were just two 12-year-olds attending church camp. The “Promising Young Woman” actress and Mumford & Sons frontman became friends while at the same Christian church camp in England before allegedly continuing their friendship by becoming pen pals for numerous years. Although they eventually lost touch, the two found their way back into each other's lives years later at a house party after they both found success in the entertainment industry. After less than a year of dating, the two got married and currently have two children together. Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions. #1: Kate Winslet & Edward Abel Smith

Kate Winslet may be taking her roles as the leading lady in romance films a little too seriously. In 2011, Winslet met her now-husband Edward Abel Smith during a house fire that occurred at a villa she was staying at. At the time, Kate was vacationing with her children on Richard Branson’s Necker Island when a fire, caused by a lightning strike, forced them to flee. Kate and her children were led to safety by Edward, who is Branson’s nephew, and remained in touch after the tumultuous events. The two must’ve felt a spark on the island because they began dating soon after and are currently married with a son.
