#3: Director’s Cut of “It” Set for Release in 2018

Just incase some of you weren’t completely satisfied with all the scares in Andy Muschietti’s “It”, you might be coming across even more, soon enough. According to Bloody Disgusting, a director’s cut of the massively successful It will be released sometime in 2018, after the initial, regular Blu-ray and DVD release of the film, which is January 9, 2018. Bloody Disgusting says that they engaged in a Twitter conversation with director Muschietti, who revealed that the director’s cut was a go, but no further details were provided in regards to what scenes or storylines would make the new cut. It’s safe to assume that some deleted scenes will be featured, but as mentioned previously in Variety’s “Playback” podcast, Pennywise Actor Bill Skarsgard mentions how a very disturbing flashback scene from the 1600s was cut, with rumors swirling that it was Pennywise – before he was Pennywise – eating a baby. Yeah, doesn’t look like anyone will be getting over their Coulrophobia anytime soon.

#2: All-Female “Ocean’s 8” Trailer Released

After casting basically every A-list actress in Hollywood, Warner Bros. has finally released the first trailer to Ocean’s 8, and the heist looks fabulous. Sandra Bullock plays Debbie Ocean, the sister of Ocean 11’s Danny Ocean, who leads an ensemble cast of thieves including Cate Blanchett, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson and Rihanna - just to name a few - to the Met Gala in order to steal a $100 million dollar necklace from Anne Hathaway’s character. Oops, our bad. The trailer starts with a little tip-of-the-cap to Ocean’s 11, with Bullock’s Ocean discussing what she would do with her life if she’s granted parole. Once out, she finds Blanchett’s character, and the two start to put together the perfect team to pull off the giant heist. Ocean’s 8 is set for release June 8th, 2018.

Before we get to our final entry, here are a couple new releases:

“Downsizing” (2017)
“Pitch Perfect 3” (2017)

#1: Petition to Remove “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” from Franchise Earns More Than 45,000 Signatures

The battle between light and dark continues to wage on in the Star Wars universe, but not in the way you might think. After the incredibly divisive critic and audience scores on for the Last Jedi on Rotten Tomatoes, episode 8 has run into some more controversy, this time in the form of a petition. The Last Jedi hater, Henry Walsh started a petition on change.org pleading for fans to vote and have Rian Johnson’s Star Wars movie stricken from the official canon. On the petition page, Walsh wrote up a three-paragraph rant criticizing Rian Johnson for his decisions on story and character development, even going as far as saying that the director ruined the integrity and legacy of Luke Skywalker as well as “wiping out 30 years of stories.” The petition has over 45,000 signatures and counting, but Disney is standing by Johnson, who is also creating an all-new Star Wars trilogy. The Last Jedi sits at a certified fresh 93% on RT.
