When East Meets West
Two cultures celebrating their differences and similarities is a beautiful thing, nowhere more so than in anime. Not only is it pretty awesome to see so many diversities represented in such a fundamentally Japanese art-form, but it often gives us a whole host of lovable characters that we can immediately latch onto.
Not to mention the glory that is Engrish…
Recently, according to an article on Crunchyroll, anime fans in Japan were asked to vote for who they believed to be the most awesome foreign character.
Who came out on top? Was it another win for ‘Murica? Did England take home the gold? Any love for Canada? Check out the final results below!
Through the middle of September, Japanese site Charapedia asked readers to consider the blonde hair, the blue eyes (they threw those in here) and often limited grasp of the Japanese language and name which anime or manga character they’re most drawn to. A top 10 was reported from suggestions made by a pool of voters that was 53% male, 69.5% in their teens or 20s.
