Disney has been on a serious roll when it comes to live-action adaptations of their animated classics. After all, their star-studded new version of “Beauty and the Beast” pulled in over a billion dollars. That’s billion with a B! There are numerous other live-action-and-CGI Disney films in the works, but if we were taking bets on which one is sure to be a smash, our money would be on Jon Favreau’s upcoming take on this beloved classic. The film already has an impressive in-the-flesh and voice cast lined up, including . .. deep breath . . . Donald Glover, Beyoncé, James Earl Jones, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Billy Eichner, Seth Rogen and more. Given Favreau’s success with “The Jungle Book”, we can’t wait.

#4: “Toy Story 4” (2019)

Pixar’s “Toy Story” franchise is easily one of the most beloved series of animated films in recent memory, even if the third installment left us, well, emotionally traumatized. While some would say it’s time to move on to new things, Pixar is bringing Woody, Buzz and company back for another ride, with a fourth installment. Details on the upcoming release are still scarce, but it’s been reported that the film will be a love story between Woody and Bo Peep. We could easily see this film raking in some incredible cash, especially given the iconic status of the first trilogy.

#3: “Avatar 2” (2020)

James Cameron’s “Avatar” is currently the highest-grossing movie of all time, having brought in a simply staggering 2.7 billion dollars. Cameron has stated that his 2009 mega-blockbuster is indeed just the first installment in a planned series, with the next story in the saga of Pandora set to hit screens in 2020. If Cameron can replicate the record-shattering success of the first installment, or even approach it, he could easily surpass the Avengers and remain the undisputed final boss of the box office. After all, the second-highest grossing film of all time, “Titanic”, is one of his works as well. He’s kinda got a knack for this.

#2: “Star Wars: Episode IX” (2019)

Love it or hate it (there doesn’t seem to be much middle ground), “The Last Jedi” proved that the venerable franchise is going to stick around for the foreseeable future, as it garnered the mighty Disney Empire over a billion dollars (there’s that figure again) at the box office. While the latest installment was indeed that divisive, fans still flocked to see it. Especially given that JJ Abrams will be taking the director’s chair yet again, it’s a safe bet that the conclusion to the latest trilogy in the series, whatever it will be called, will continue the runaway success that began with “The Force Awakens”.

#1: “Avengers 4” (2019)

At this point, the only thing that could possibly out-do “Infinity War” at the box office is . . . the as-yet-untitled sequel that picks up where that jaw-dropping cliffhanger leaves off! We have absolutely no idea how Earth’s Mightiest Heroes can possibly get themselves out of their jam, but no matter what they do, it’s bound to be epic in every way. Particularly financially! With missing faces like Ant-Man and Hawkeye confirmed to appear, as well as the arrival of Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel after her solo film, the film is set to have even more star power than its predecessor. But please, Marvel, go easy on us this time. Our hearts can’t take any more trauma.
