So much television, so little time… Welcome to WatchMojo.com, and today we’re counting down our picks for the top 3 series to binge this weekend: March 23th, 24th and 25th, 2018. Be sure to tune in on Monday for our MojoTalks rundown of this weekend’s binge session. #3: "Requiem" (2018-) Netflix Our first pick for your stay-in Friday night is a Netflix/BBC co-produced series. "Requiem" is a supernatural thriller that combines elements of murder-mystery and suspense for a show that, while derivative, manages to keep things interesting enough that the 6 episodes will be difficult to put down. The story follows a young London Musician Matilda, played by Lydia Wilson, whose mother's horrifying suicide leads Matilda to put her carrier on hold and investigate. The action kicks off really quickly and doesn't slow down, and if you're a fan of classic horror tropes contained in a creepy atmosphere, "Requiem" is the whole package and then some. #2: "B: The Beginning" Netflix Netflix has been killing it with their anime collaborations this year, and "B: The Beginning" is a worthy addition to their portfolio. Working with anime giant Production I.G., this ambitious series is an interwoven story about a serial killer who seemingly only goes after other bad guys, and a conspiracy involving genetically altered humans hiding among the population. This series ticks off all the boxes, it has interesting characters, looks great and takes a few unexpected turns along the way. The show has been polarizing among fans, with some hating it while others call it the new "Death Note". While we definitely don't put it on the same pedestal as "Death Note", we still recommend you check it out. #1: "Santa Clarita Diet" Season 2 (2018) Netflix Two words, dark humour. Season one of Netflix's original series "Santa Clarita Diet" was fun, but struggled to find the right tone. Season 2 nails it this time around, combining the strongest aspect of season 1, comedy in the most inappropriate situations, and builds on the Hammond family’s awkward and ultimately pointless attempts to live a normal life. Lucky for the audience, things never go well for our zombified heroine and her family, but they mean well, and this season is almost as touching as it is gruesome. Season 2 also expands on the whole zombie infestation, when the Hammond's realize that there may be other flesh eaters out there, and watching them fumble their way though their, admittedly complicated situation never stops being funny.
