Top 10 Trendy Travel Products You Need Proper tools can make or break a trip. Welcome to MojoTravels, and today we’ll be counting down our picks for the Top 10 Trendy Travel Products You Need. For this list, we’ll be looking be looking at travel products and accessories that are a must-have in modern times. Not every one of the products is necessarily a brand new invention, but if it appears on this list, its rise as an essential product in the world of travel is indeed recent. #10: Handpresso Most adults run on coffee, and while you might leave your work behind while you’re travelling, your caffeine needs are sure to follow. Depending on the type of trip you’re taking and your destination, quality coffee isn’t always a guarantee - and that goes double if you’re an espresso drinker. With the Handpresso, you can remove the desperate hunt for a decent coffee shop -not to mention the risks of a bad cup of joe. This handheld coffee maker isn’t the only one of its kind, but few of the competitors can boast comparable quality in such a small package. At roughly $130 USD, it’s not cheap, but your future self will be thanking you for years to come. For those on a budget, the Nanopresso is another great option. #9: Tech Organizer Our increasingly connected lives means an abundance of wires, dongles and attachments. Try as you might to streamline your tech life, the fear of being in a foreign country without an essential device or cable means that most of us would rather be overprepared. Unfortunately, that usually means that you wind up with an infuriating jumble of cables and wires, or you’re checking all the small pockets of your various bags to find that one specific charger. Why not bring everything you might need in a neat, logical and organized fashion? Tech organizers might seem superfluous, but they’ll change your travel life without eating up space in your suitcase. These unobtrusive folding zippered bags and cases have various straps and mesh compartments to hold all your small electronics and accessories. Trust us, you’ll never go back. #8: Optical Lens for Smartphones More and more, people are leaving their dedicated digital cameras at home in favor of documenting their trip on their smartphones. Considering how incredible smartphone camera technology is nowadays, that’s pretty understandable. While your iPhone, Pixel and Galaxy can take many great shots, smartphone cameras are not without their shortcomings, like the ability to zoom effectively without sacrificing quality. There are tons of cheap throwaway lenses out there that are, as you’ve likely suspected, a complete waste of money. Be that as it may, there are a handful of truly fantastic camera attachments for your smartphone that will drastically upgrade your Insta game. Moment makes an excellent line of lenses, including wide angle and telephoto. Exolens is another popular option. #7: Compression Socks We know… we know! Socks are hardly what you generally call a new innovation in the world of travel. Pretty much no trip is complete without numerous pairs of them. Here’s the thing though, while compression socks were once really only worn by the elderly, athletes and those with pre-existing medical conditions, savvy travellers have recently added to their list of must-haves any time they’re getting on a plane. You see, compression socks help increase blood flow, which can be an issue during long flights. Though far from a common occurrence, flying has been linked to blood clots, which compression socks help to prevent. The risks may be low, but why not play it safe? Especially since compression socks now come in stylish colors and patterns. #6: Universal Travel Adapter The first time you fly to Europe, chances are that your parents or grandparents lent you their dusty old travel adapter kit. It was likely big, bulky, and contained way more options than necessary, but only ONE of these adaptors you actually needed. Thankfully, there are brilliant inventors out there always looking to make our lives easier and more efficient. Nowadays, you can purchase an all in one travel adapter cube that will have you covered all around the globe. Not only do they save on space, but they also usually have a bunch of sub ports so you can charge multiple devices at once. Convenient and easily to acquire for only $20 to $30, these cubes should be in every travel kit. #5: Waterproof Smartphone Case Look… we get it. Unless you’re embarking on a voyage at sea, going cliff diving or travelling to a destination during monsoon season, a waterproof phone case feels wholly unnecessary. But the argument for a waterproof phone case isn’t actually about the environment itself, so much as the consequences of something happening to your phone while you’re on the road. When you’re travelling, your phone is more important than ever. It’s your virtual personal assistant, your emergency lifeline, your GPS and quite possibly the place you keep essential travel info. Dropping it in a puddle, bathtub, fountain or stream could be disastrous. So why not travel with a slightly bulkier phone case as insurance? Catalyst, Pelican Marine and Bessmate all come well-reviewed. #4: Portable Power Bank While we’re on the subject of smartphones, let’s talk about another way you can help keep your greatest possession up and running while you’re travelling. Phone tech has come a long way over the years, but one area which continues to disappoint is battery life. When you’re navigating a foreign city, you’re likely to be going hard with maps, Googling things and taking loads of pics and videos - all of which is going to contribute to you burning through that battery life quicker than usual. Chances are that you aren’t going to want to be going back to the hotel, hostel or AirBnB to charge up. WIth a small portable power bank, you can ensure that you’re never short on juice. Jackery Bolt, TravelCard Charger and various Anker models all come well-recommended. #3: Portable Hotspot Are you the sort of person who always needs to be in touch with work, even when traveling the globe? Then this might be the newest bit of travel tech that you need to add to your repertoire. It’s basically a portable wireless hub that gives you internet access wherever you need it. In 2019, Skyroam Solis offers internet in over 100 countries, with unlimited internet/data at $9 per day or $99/month. With smartphone networks as impressive as they’ve become, this might seem superfluous, but imagine being able to connect numerous devices all at once - wherever you need. Portable hotspots are the heart of your home office on the go. Verizon, AT&T, Boost Mobile, Netgear and Glocal Me (among others) all offer portable hotspots. #2: Tile Bluetooth Trackers Tile… where would we be without our tiles? This wonderful little piece of technology has been helping us locate our misplaced keys, wallets and phones for the past few years. And for the forgetful and absent-minded among us, we kind of wonder how we ever lived without it. The concept is simple. Tiles are little bluetooth trackers that ring when activated using the app on your phone, with their location displayed on the map. If you lose your phone, the tile can be used to make your phone ring - yes, even when its on silent. The range is limited from 100 feet to 300 feet depending on the model, but if a tile and the item it is attached to are further away than that, the community function can piggyback on other tile users to ping its location for you. Now doesn’t that sound like the perfect travel companion? Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions Contoured Eye Mask Lem Shoes Digital Luggage Scale Laundry Soap Sheets Bose QuietComfort QC20 & QC20i Noise Cancelling Headphones #1: Packing Cubes No, they may not be a new innovation or a groundbreaking piece of technology. But… packing cubes have recently become all the rage, and once you’ve tried them for yourself, it’s easy to understand why. Honestly… you’re going to be mad that the whole world didn’t start talking about them sooner, because they can, in fact, drastically improve the way you pack. A set of packing cubes consists of small to medium-sized, zippered, flexible pouches that allow you to subdivide and further compact the various items and pieces of clothing that you’re packing. We can understand your hesitation, but the reviews speak for themselves; even the most skeptical of travelers report saving a ton of space. With numerous brands to choose from at all price points, there’s no reason not try them out for yourself!
