Get ready for a superhero smackdown of your dreams! Welcome to WatchMojo.com and today we are counting down our picks for the top ten superheroes we would like to see battle each other on the big screen, regardless of what universe they belong to.
For this list, we'll be looking at fights between superheroes that haven't yet reached the silver screen, but would be amazing to behold. We won't include battles that have already occurred, albeit in a less than fan-pleasing way, such as Wolverine vs. So-Called Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

#10: Black Widow vs. Catwoman

It’s the clash of two femme fatales who have no problem twisting men around their finger and playing all manner of deceptions against their enemies. Black Widow is a trained assassin who can kill a person in more ways than we can count, while Catwoman is Gotham’s most elegant and agile thief. Both of these awesome women tend to operate in a world filled with men, so seeing these two clash would be a breath of fresh air from all that machismo. One thing is for sure, bring together two such well-matched opponents, and the result would not be a simple catfight.

Both use infinite cosmic power to defend the Earth, though chances are if these two were to ever exchange blows, the Earth would end up with a few dents in it. In the MCU, the Vision was born when Tony Stark’s A.I companion Jarvis was loaded into a synthetic body created by Ultron and powered by the Mind Gem. The end product was a super powered being that’s strong enough to lift Thor’s hammer. Is he strong enough to best the Man of Steel? Don’t know, but it would be an epic fight. Heat vision against a blast from an Infinity Stone? Which is faster and can land the punches? Whose invulnerability has a flaw? Neither contender is going down easy.

Her combination of human and Kree genetics makes her a solo force that could take on the galaxy’s most dangerous villains. Billy Batson may be a small boy, but by speaking one word he becomes the World’s Mightiest Mortal. Imbued with the power of mythological gods by the wizard Shazam. With the force of the magic against the mastery of stellar energies, the fight to see who deserves the name of Captain Marvel would be a galactic slugfest.
#7: Dr Strange vs. Dr Manhattan

The Sorcerer Supreme has taken on interdimensional threats and mystical evils that no others could face. His magical knowledge and capabilities make him on of Marvel’s powerhouses, but even the good doctor would struggle against Watchman’s man-made God. Every conceivable ability you can think of, Dr Manhattan has at his disposal. Vast telekinetic control, teleportation, precognition, cloning, invincibility, all held within a being that has become disinterested in humanity. Their battle would be a feast for the eyes, with multiple plains of reality at their disposal, and their verbal debates about the importance of mankind would be something to behold.
#6: Thor vs. Wonder Woman

Both were born to be warriors, hail from royalty and stem from epic and bloodthirsty mythologies. As the God of Thunder, Thor has battled Norse folklore’s most terrifying creatures with his legendary hammer Mjolnir and mastery of the elements. On the other hand, you have Diana, Princess of the Amazons, daughter of Zeus. She is blessed with strength beyond that of any mortal and was trained by a people known for their mastery of the battlefield. Each armed to the teeth with enchanted armour and weaponry, a battle between these two would pit Scandinavian folklore against Greek legend, with combatants known for never giving up the fight.

While we’re all for the Merc with the Mouth engaging in a gunfight with his DC counterpart Deathstroke, fans would be even more thrilled to see Marvel’s two top jokers battle it out. Any confrontation between these two would be instantly entertaining, as their senses of humour and juvenile natures would guarantee a steady stream of one-liners. Of course it wouldn’t all be fun and games, as Spidey’s no kill policy would immediately clash with Deadpool’s habit of dismembering his enemies. While there’s no doubt seeing these two team up buddy-cop style would also be fun, watching these two crimson clad individuals fight would be as exciting as it would be gut-bustlingly funny.

Both of these guys redefine the whole concept of “fast,” so a match-up between them seems inevitable. But which version of these dudes would be involved – Quicksilver of the X-Men or the Avengers? Flash of the Justice League or from his solo work? Whichever you prefer, each brings new meaning to the phrase “quick-witted.” Their ability to run faster than the eye can see is matched only by their ability to think up quips on the fly. With the Flash able to tap into the Speed Force and Quicksilver’s mutant ability making the laws of physics practically irrelevant, this battle would indeed be over in the blink of an eye. But what a glorious, thrilling blink it would be!
#3: The Incredible Hulk vs. The Thing

They’re two of Marvel’s heavy hitters, can take an untold amount of punishment and dish out twice as much. Needless to say, a fistfight between these two would leave its fair share of collateral damage. Ben Grimm of the Fantastic Four is practically a living mountain, though one with charisma and gentle nature. He also isn’t afraid to let loose when it’s clobbering time. The Hulk on the other hand is a giant, green rage machine who can smash anything and anyone to pieces should you manage to tick him off – which doesn’t take a lot. Superman would have also been a worthy opponent, but who better to battle it out than two innocent men both burdened by their monstrous appearances?

It’s billionaire playboy philanthropist vs. billionaire playboy philanthropist. Basically two rich kids throwing wads of money at each other? Bruce Wayne and Tony Stark have so many similarities that it’d be a crime for them not to put their genius and tech toe to toe. Both have inner demons, whether its alcoholism or childhood trauma. Both have near limitless resources, as well as some impressive gadgets. While one embraces the life of the 1%, the other uses it as a mask. A fight between the genius industrialist and the world’s greatest detective would certainly include a fair amount of firepower, intellect and awesome high-tech toys. Oh, and a lot of narcissism and brooding. Before we reveal our number one pick, here are a few honourable mentions. But there’s no denying that putting the Avengers and the Justice League on opposite sides of the battlefield, it would be the greatest superhero showdown of all time. Think of the patriotism inherent in Captain America and Superman, the tragedy that fuels Batman and Spider-Man, the hilarious banter between Iron Man and the Flash.
