Finding out your boyfriend’s family is in the top 1% of all wealthy people in Singapore is pretty rough. Although they made a few mistakes along the way, these two always remained true to each other. This especially was important when Nick’s mom disapproved of their union. But Rachel showed strength and determination by standing up to her in the end. As long as these two can continue to show that same level of strength, they’ll be in it for the long haul. They’ve already faced harsh challenges and come out better for them.

“Obvious Child” (2014) If we’re talking rocky starts, these two may take the crown. After breaking up with her boyfriend, Donna has a drunken one-night stand with a guy named Max. When she finds out she’s pregnant, she decides to get an abortion. Donna doesn’t tell Max right away. But the film allows both people space to grow as the film goes on. Despite hitting some bumps along the way, Max eventually asks Donna if he can accompany her to the doctor. The two ultimately end the film on a hopeful note. We think if these two continue to approach each other with honesty and empathy, they’ve got a pretty good shot.

“Moonstruck” (1987) Look – we’re not saying falling in love with your fiancé’s brother is the first step to a long lasting relationship. But there are always exceptions to the rule! In “Moonstruck”, Loretta is engaged to a man named Johnny. He starts the story having been estranged from his brother Ronny for years. When Johnny asks Loretta to invite Ronny to the wedding, they get along a little better than he hoped! After a night of passion, Loretta spends the rest of the film worrying about how to get out of this little love triangle she’s created. But she eventually gets a chance to get with Ronny in a dramatic sequence. It’s got to be all uphill from here after their wild start.

“Notting Hill” (1999) Making relationships work in Hollywood is HARD. But we believe these kids can go the distance. In “Notting Hill,” Julia Roberts plays Anna Scott, a famous American actress not unlike herself. While on vacation, she meets and falls in love with Will Thacker, a bookshop owner played by Hugh Grant. The movie is wonderfully meta about the trials and tribulations of Hollywood. It’s also thoughtful about how a couple might overcome those issues. Add in Grant and Roberts’ excellent chemistry and an ending speech to end all speeches, and you’ve got a great rom com couple. The film ends by showing them married with Anna pregnant. It felt like the first glimpse at a long relationship.

But in a wonderful twist of fate, it turns out that Graham, father of two, is the lovely man we hoped him to be. Although their time together in the film is short, we think Graham and Amanda’s wit and trust is enough to keep them together forever.

“Working Girl” (1988) Normally, we’d be wary of starting a workplace relationship. But when your colleague is Harrison Ford, we’d understand why you’d want to bend the rules a bit. “Working Girl” follows Tess. This secretary takes advantage of her boss’ broken leg to get a leg up in the business world and do more corporate work. Eventually, she ends up falling in love with an associate at a different company named Jack. They definitely have a sexy rapport. But the best sign for their relationship is the fact that Jack respects Tess for her mind too. At the end of the film, he stands up for her ideas. We could see him supporting her for decades of a fruitful relationship.

But does Ian ever complain? Absolutely not. He happily takes Toula and her family just as they are. His good natured persistence pays off, and eventually they have no choice but to welcome him. Once Ian gains the approval of so many people, it’s pretty much a guarantee that he’s not going anywhere.

However, there is one major obstacle in the form of Matty’s fiancée. That impending marriage prevents things from working out for the two of them in that timeline. However, when Jenna goes back to her 13-year-old self, she makes sure to secure her relationship with Matty. They end the movie happily married. Along with that plot point, Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo’s divine chemistry makes us believe these two will go the distance.
