Top 10 My Hero Academia Villains

Top 10 My Hero Academia Villains
VOICE OVER: Ashley Bowman WRITTEN BY: Alex Crilly-Mckean
They're here to shake up Hero Society, no matter who they have to go through. Welcome to WatchMojo and today we are counting down our picks for the Top 10 My Hero Academia Villains.
For this list, we'll be looking at the antagonists across this hit anime series that have managed to take the occupation of supervillain and make it their own!

#10: Kurogiri

He’s the dapper master of portals, acting as a guide for Shigaraki, offering advice and trying to ensure he maintains a level head when going about his merry, murderous ways. Don’t let the politeness fool you; Kurogiri is still a villain through and through, one happy to swallow up students and teachers alike in his endless void. While he’s mainly served as the League of Villain’s mode of transportation, we’re sure that he’s got plenty more dark secrets lurking inside that phantasmagorical body of his.

#9: Nomu

While we originally believed the name Nomu to only apply to the hulking bird brain created specifically to kill All Might, we later learned this monstrosity is just one in a vast line up of creatures made to assist Shigaraki in his villainous escapades. While they come in a variety of sizes and shapes, each are essentially killing machines fitted with custom Quirks that can slaughter any unprepared heroes. One was able to survive All Might’s punches, while another came fitted with in-built chainsaws! We’re kind of scared to see what they cook up next…

#8: Twice

Comic relief and tragedy rolled into one, you might think the guy who constantly contradicts himself with his two personalities wouldn’t be that useful to the League of Villains, yet Twice’s ability to create duplicates of anything he pleases has turned out to be quite vital to the Vanguard Squad. His backstory is also…pretty messed up, since after he made too many copies of himself, they all forgot who was the original and killed each other in a blind rage, leaving only one left standing, now complete with a constant identity crisis.

#7: Muscular

A lunatic through and through who loves nothing more than seeing the blood of his victims, this murderer is responsible for the deaths of numerous innocents, including Koda’s parents. Naturally his talents landed him a spot in the League of Villains, eventually clashing with our boy Deku when he tried to finish off Koda. While he wasn’t able to withstand a final, desperate Smash from the young hero, his flesh manipulation Quirk and enhanced strength have left scars on Deku that will never fade. Dude’s an absolute savage.

#6: Dabi

He’s a twisted fire starter with a bad boy attitude that’s rocking the charred zombie look. No wonder the ladies love him. The leader of the League of Villains’ Vanguard Action Squad, Dabi is by far the most enigmatic of Shigaraki’s crew. His use of blue flames, the way he seems to haven been scarred by his own Quirk, the fact we don’t know his real name, he’s a true power player that we can only imagine is going to have a much greater impact further down the line. One thing’s for sure; he will incinerate any that try to step up to him.

#5: Himiko Toga

Don’t let her giddy personality fool you or the face she’s got the whole school-girl thing going on, Toga has quite the body count to her name, thanks in part to her shape shifting quirk. This paired with the fact she loves all things cute, especially the way they look when she cuts them up, portrays her as a truly unhinged individual that somehow still somehow manages to make her a contender for one of the show’s best ladies. She’ll dazzle you, seduce you, and then she’ll make you bleed – because in her eyes everything is cuter when they’re covered in blood.

#4: Overhaul

The latest bad guy on the block, this yakuza with a penchant for dressing like a plague doctor has proven himself to be a much different kind of beast compared to the League of Villains. Not only is he a major clean freak, but also Overhaul has a clear vision for his organisation and hero society as a whole following the fall of All Might. He can be cordial, he can be terrifying, whatever he needs to be to make his plans come to fruition as seamlessly as possible. Get in his way or disrupt his goals, and you’re likely going to have all your molecules detonated, no matter who you are.

#3: Tomura Shigaraki

While Izuku Midoriya was slowly rising up to become the next greatest hero, his dark reflection was being moulded into a weapon that would rot the modern world from the inside out. After hero society failed him in his youth, the grandson of All Might’s predecessor was recruited and manipulated by All for One, becoming a tool of vengeance in the process, and as such has gradually found his own means and convictions to destroy the status quo. You can bet for every step that Deku takes towards becoming the next Symbol of Peace, Shigaraki falls deeper into his own madness.

#2: Stain

The Hero Killer who changed everything. Disillusioned with the way the modern world idolises caped crusaders and how the fundamentals of heroism have given way to greed and vanity, Stain set out on a campaign of his own to purge the fakers with nothing more than his arsenal of blades, lightning-fast reflexes and harrowing determination. He crippled Iida’s older brother, has slain numerous pro-heroes, and unintentionally managed to rally the hidden villains of the world into a frenzy. The fact he regards All Might as the only true hero and the one worthy of killing him just adds another layer to the man who cut the cords that held hero society together.

#1: All for One

The mastermind pulling the strings, the one who set Shigaraki on his dark path, the eternal foe of All Might. This OG villain may have only appeared for a brief time, but his actions and influence are still being felt. Thanks to his nigh unstoppable Quirk, All for One can steal, stock and combine any number of Quirks, allowing him to unleash devastating attacks that can not only level cities, but also contended with two wielders of One for All. Honestly the only thing scarier than this guys powers, his lack of a face and seeming inability to die is just how sharp he looks in that suit of his.
