Top 10 Most Disliked Game Trailers on YouTube The gray bars were strong for these trailers. Welcome to WatchMojo.com, and today, we're counting down our picks for the Top 10 Most Disliked Game Trailers on YouTube. For this list, we're looking at the most infamous game trailers that lead viewers mashing the dislike button.

#10: “PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale” E3 Trailer

Despite having one of the worst titles we could imagine, “PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale” was a decent fighting game (except for Kratos being OP). Unfortunately, nothing could escape the game from being viewed as a carbon copy of Nintendo’s “Super Smash Bros” series. Even PlayStation was aware of the similarities, and they decided to use that as an advantage in during marketing. Shortly after uploading their E3 2012 trailer, it was discovered that the video used a few tags relating to “Smash Bros”. The public didn’t take a liking to this exploitative approach, and the video received approximately seven thousand dislikes.

#9: “DmC: Devil May Cry” Tokyo Game Show Trailer

Sometimes, it can be hard to sell consumers on a reboot, typically because their favorite character has gone through some drastic visual changes. A notable example of this was the reveal of “DmC: Devil May Cry” at Tokyo Game Show. Many fans didn’t warm up to the new look for Dante, with most stating how generic and uninteresting he looked when compared to his original look. Even series creator Hideki Kamiya expressed his dissatisfaction. Others were okay with the design, but that didn’t stop the video from earning around eight thousand dislikes.

#8: “Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival” E3 2015 Trailer

When you get a good look at the timeline, “Animal Crossing” hasn’t had a new core game since 2012 with “New Leaf”. Many of the few Wii U owners were wondering when their core “Animal Crossing” game was coming out. At E3 2015, Nintendo would be the bearer of bad news when they revealed “Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival”, an incredibly dull party game purely built to sell amiibo. This would also be the ONLY “Animal Crossing” game to hit the Wii U during the console’s lifespan. Hopefully Nintendo took those eleven thousand dislikes seriously...

#7: “Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location” Trailer 1

For a franchise that’s only been around for four years, “Five Nights at Freddy’s” has seen overwhelming success. However, like many mainstream games and movies, it has spawned several sequels and was the talk of the internet for a lengthy period of time, which may have made some players a little annoyed. So, when developer Scott Cawthon released the trailer for “Sister Location”, the haters didn’t hesitate from mashing the dislike button. Despite earning around fourteen thousand dislikes, “Sister Location” would be just as successful as its predecessors.

#6: “Hatred” Gameplay Trailer

Have you ever looked at a game and felt like its intentions were purely for the sake of shock and controversy? Well, that’s how many people felt about “Hatred”, a top-down shooter that tasked players with murdering every person they encounter. People found the game to be so disgusting and appalling that the gameplay trailer was given thirty-four thousand dislikes. Many criticized “Hatred” for its tacky violence, with some outlets calling for its removal from Steam and referring to it as a “mass murder simulator”. This would quickly be swept under the rug after “Hatred’s” launch once everyone found out how shallow and boring the game actually was.

#5: “Might No. 9” Trailer: Masterclass

Everyone loves a good joke, but when it comes to selling your product, insulting your demographic is not the way to go. For as controversial as “Mighty No. 9” was among its Kickstarter backers, the “Masterclass” trailer chased away the few fans it had left with one line: “...make the bad guys cry like an anime fan on prom night!” Needless to say, the fans were furious (at least those who were still around). To supporters, this was a slap in the face for their visual tastes, and it dismissed the fact that the game featured an anime-like art style. It was a tasteless joke that ended up giving the trailer over forty-four thousand dislikes.

#4: “Command and Conquer: Rivals” Official Reveal Trailer

For many, this was the absolute worst to come out of E3 2018. During Electronic Arts’ briefing, a mobile game was demoed in the style of an eSports match. Sadly, this would be revealed to be a new installment for “Command and Conquer”...a free-to-play mobile game. It didn’t take long for the backlash to set in. When the official reveal trailer was uploaded, that gray bar grew quickly. After just two weeks, the trailer already hit nearly fifty-thousand dislikes! If there’s anything that players learned from this, it’s that the series we once knew will never retrieve its former glory.

#3: “Metroid Prime: Federation Force” E3 2015 Trailer

“Animal Crossing” wasn’t the only flop for Nintendo at E3 2015. When fans were craving for a new “Metroid” game on their Nintendo 3DS, this was not what they had in mind. The E3 2015 trailer for “Metroid Prime: Federation Force” left many players frustrated. What’s with the cartoony visuals? Why is this game so heavily focused on combat? More importantly, where the hell is Samus Aran?! With the “Metroid” series approaching its 30th anniversary, fans were foaming at the mouth. Since it was uploaded, the trailer has received ninety-one thousand dislikes, and the controversy may have caused the game to skip E3 2016, months before its release.

#2: “Battlefield V” Official Reveal Trailer

The trailer for “Battlefield V” dropped a couple of weeks before E3 2018, but we doubt it got the reception the folks over at DICE were expecting. Upon the game’s big reveal, players took issue with the historical inaccuracies with regards to its portrayal of World War II, with many taking issue with the inclusion of a female character, stating “women never fought in the war” while noting the robotic arm. The trailer would go on to receive over four-hundred thousand dislikes! EA’s Patrick Soderlund defended the inclusion of female characters with a simple, yet blunt statement: “...either accept it or don’t buy the game.”

#1: Official “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare” Reveal Trailer

As we’ve seen with “Five Nights at Freddy’s”, multiple sequels will get you haters in a heartbeat! In the case of “Call of Duty”, the number of haters is in the millions. While the series has been no stranger to massive negative feedback, “Infinite Warfare” was on the path to infamy. The official reveal trailer garnered a staggering 3.7 million dislikes and was heavily criticized for its futuristic setting. On top of that, this was when fatigue was setting in for even the most hardcore CoD fans. Today, the series has strayed away from the sci-fi style, but there seems to be a new reason for gamers to hate the series with every new game.
