VOICE OVER: Ashley Bowman
Even as a pint-sized youth, this anime character can do some serious damage! Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're looking over the greatest battles featuring Goku during his youth. Our countdown of the top Kid Goku fights includes Goku vs. Tambourine, Goku vs. Krillin, Goku vs. Tien, and more!

#10: Goku vs. Tambourine

Top x Goku Fights Every Dragon Ball Fight Ranked

Revenge is a dish best served with a flurry of fists. After his murder spree, which included Krillin, Tambourine was owed one hell of a beat down, and ended up earning it when Goku arrived to settle the score once and for all. The servant of King Piccolo may have bested some of the greatest warriors in the land, but against a Saiyan looking to get even? He didn’t stand a chance, delivering one of the most satisfying ends to a OG DB villain courtesy of a killer Kamehameha.

#9: Goku vs. Mercenary Tao

Also in:

Top 20 Times Goku Went Beast Mode

In any other series, Tao might have gone on to become a mainstay as one of the strongest warriors in the land. The man could take out an opponent with his tongue, and had access to techniques such as the Dodon Wave. He even gets a few licks in against Goku, but it doesn’t take long for the tides to turn. Getting your face beaten in by a child might seem bad enough, but then Tao went and tried to score an easy victory with a surprise grenade…too bad that blew up in his face. Literally.

#8: Goku & 18 vs. Super 17

Top 10 Most Impressive Goku Moments Ever

Yes, GT does have some solid moments. Shock horror. One of which is the return of the infamous Android, who in this instance merges with a parallel version of himself in order to create an even stronger form capable of annihilating every Z-Fighter in sight. Thankfully, with some help from a wrathful Android 18, Goku is able to get the upper hand on the ascended 17 in a way that’s downright epic. Not only do we get the return of the Super Dragon Fist, but also one of Goku’s best Kamehameha’s to date!

#7: Goku vs. Grandpa Gohan

Top 10 Worst Things Goku Has Done

The battles against Fortuneteller Baba’s monstrous minions may not be as memorable as some of Goku’s other encounters, as fun as they are – save for its final bout. While ending on an impressive trading of Kamehameha’s, for the most part the battle against the masked man is a straight up exchange of martial arts blows, leading to Goku having to pull out all the stops in terms of agility and endurance. Not to mention the reveal at the end, while obvious, is still incredibly heartwarming!

#6: Goku vs. Red Ribbon Army

Also in:

Top 10 Times Goku Went Beast Mode

This is the first time we’ve seen Goku go on a straight up rampage, and it is a sight to behold. Taking the fight to the entirety of the Red Ribbon Army, the young Saiyan punches, kicks and blasts his way through legions of soldiers, even though they have all manner of mecha and weaponry on their sides. Honestly, we’re pretty sure that Goku racked up a body count here that would make Vegeta proud. It’s certainly unconventional compared to the usual one vs one match ups we’re used to, so this whole display of reckless strength was a treat to watch unfold.

#5: Goku vs. Krillin

Also in:

Top 10 Goku Kills (Dragon Ball)

Ah yes, back when Krillin was actually able to pose something of a challenge to Goku. For as much as we rag on him, Krillin showed an impressive display of skill during the World Martial Arts Tournament as the two disciples of Master Roshi went head-to-head. For the most part, the two appear even when it comes to trading punches and kicks. They two are even able to use the Kamehameha at will. Unfortunately, Krillin’s reliance on aiming for Goku’s tail was his undoing, leading to a swift exit from the tournament!

#4: Goku vs. Ledgic

Also in:

Anime Duel: Goku Vs Saitama

Back when we still had confidence in GT, and this fight was a huge contributing factor. It was very much back to basics, with Goku taking on an alien bodyguard more than capable of holding their own. At least until Goku went gold. Between the ki blasts and pseudo-lightsabers, Ledgic turned out to be a pretty fun mini-boss that showed promise. Maybe even as a future rival. Alas, we all know nothing really came of it, but for a shining moment we got to see GT at one of its high-points!

#3: Goku vs. Tien

Also in:

Top 10 Characters More Powerful Than Goku

These days Tien might be regarded as a competent fighter who showed off his prowess throughout each major arc, but during the original era, he was a monster in his own right. Scoring a win over Goku in one of the most brutal of Dragon Ball’s tournament matches, Tien displayed why he’s a fighter to be feared, what with him able to grow extra ligaments as well as his Tri-Beam. That being said, he only won by a hair’s breadth, as Goku was able to keep pace with him every step of the way!

#2: Goku vs. Jackie Chun

Also in:

Goku The Timeline So Far

It’s master against student in one of the wildest tournament finals the franchise has ever seen. While wearing the rather flimsy disguise of Jackie Chun, Roshi pushes Goku to his limits as they trade techniques, beam struggles, even a million volts of electricity. Who knows if the outcome would have been any different if Goku hadn’t turned into a Giant Ape in the middle of their scuffle, but it made one hell of a spectacle, nonetheless. Even if he didn’t quite clinch the win in the end, Goku displayed that even at a tender age, was well on his way to becoming the strongest of them all.

#1: Goku vs. Demon King Piccolo

Also in:

Top 10 Biggest Victories of Goku

Undoubtedly the high point of Dragon Ball’s original run, the climactic clash between Goku and the Namekian – ugh, we mean – King of Demons, is a standout. Concluding one of the darkest arcs, Goku goes all out to bring Piccolo’s reign of terror to an end. The preceding fight is solid, but the highlight is undoubtedly the finishing move. Helmed with incredible animation and echoing the force of the Giant Ape, the Super Dragon Fist is so potent that Goku forces his way through Piccolo, ending him on the spot. The boy knows how to land a punch! Which of Kid Goku’s exploits do you think is the most legendary? Let us know in the comments!
