When he’s not ‘spinebusting’, he’s gut busting. Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we’re counting down our picks for the Top 10 Funniest Dave Bautista Moments from Outside the Ring. For this list, we’ll be looking at Dave Bautista’s best and funniest pop culture moments, while excluding any that occurred during his time with the WWE.

#10: His “Guardians” Screen Test with Chris Pratt

Also in:

Top 10 Moments That Made Us Love Chris Evans

How do you figure out if two actors have the chemistry required to helm a big budget superhero flick? You have them perform a screen test, duh! Dave Bautista and Chris Pratt’s screen test for “Guardians of the Galaxy” may not have a banging soundtrack or mind-boggling CGI, but it gives fans a glimpse into how both men originally approached their respective characters. The clip, which includes dialogue that didn’t make it into the movie, is hilarious – as even then it was clear Drax was going to steal the show with his dry one-liners.

#9: His Responses to IGN Comments

Also in:

Top 10 Funniest Kristen Wiig Moments

For an actor, promoting a film means doing interviews – lots and lots of interviews. Thankfully, some choose to spice things up with a game. For IGN, this meant having Dave Bautista respond to Internet comments about his 2018 film “Final Score”. True to form, Bautista’s responses are succinct and to the point, with just a hint of his trademark humor. Some of the comments he fields include, “So this is where Drax went to after the snap…” and “PUT THIS MAN IN GEARS OF WAR”. That last one we actually agree with…and so did Bautista. Honestly, we could watch this guy respond to Internet comments all day long.

#8: Playing Dr. C. Rush on “The #Hashtagged Show”

Top 10 Unhinged Ryan Gosling Quotes About Playing Ken

Everybody hates Mondays, but Dr. C. Rush crushes them! Regardless of whether he’s in the ring or on-screen, Dave Bautista knows how to bring the laughs. In this unique web series, he plays the appropriately titled Dr. C. Rush, a man who feels the need to crush anything and everything come Monday. In the sketch, we see him making his way through the day and crushing things, often to the detriment of his family, employees and patients. People literally duck and cover when he enters a room, demonstrating that sometimes having a little Monday-positivity isn’t necessarily a good thing.

#7: When Chris Pratt Used His Biceps as a Prop

Also in:

Top 10 Moments That Made Us Love Chris Hemsworth

Dave Bautista and Chris Pratt are at it again in this hilarious clip from Marvel. It begins with Pratt showing off some of the props used in the making of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” - including blasters, walkie talkies and even a Baby Groot replica. However, Pratt’s favorite prop is none other than Dave Bautista’s massive biceps. Bautista gets manhandled, tickled and used as a glorified coat rack before he and Pratt run off to play. Watching Bautista stand there and take it as Pratt toys with him is brilliant stuff, made even funnier by the former’s complete lack of emotion.

#6: When He Read Bad Kids Jokes

Also in:

Top 10 Funniest Tina Fey & Amy Poehler Moments

Dave Bautista engaged in more than one fun activity while promoting “Final Score”. Taking place on the same day as his sit-down with IGN, this interaction with pop culture site FANDOM featured Bautista reading some truly nonsensical jokes submitted by children. Some of the jokes include, “Why does the king sing badly? Because he is pregnant!” and “1,2,3,4,5 once I caught a shark. 6,7,8,9,10 then it eat my whole body. I did not care at all.” We totally understand if you’re sporting the same expression as Dave Bautista right about now. The future of comedy is in…questionable hands.

#5: When Drax Tried to Kill the Monster from the Inside

“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” opens with Quill, Gamora, Drax, Rocket and Groot battling a tentacled space monster with extremely thick skin. It soon becomes apparent that their blasters are not strong enough to injure it. For Drax the answer is simple: leap into the belly of the beast and try to kill it from the inside. If you’re thinking “uh, wouldn’t the monster’s skin be just as thick from the inside” you’re not alone, as Quill and Gamora both point this out following Drax’s rash decision. The only thing better than watching Drax repeatedly stab the monster from the inside is the look on his face when he thinks his plan paid off. Sorry bud, it was actually Gamora who saved the day.

#4: Playing Chad in “The Boss”

With his star on the rise following his breakout performance in “Guardians of the Galaxy”, Dave Bautista scored an uncredited cameo in the 2016 comedy “The Boss”. The film is about Michelle, a successful businesswoman (played by Melissa McCarthy) who loses everything and attempts to make a comeback by selling Girl Scout cookies. In the alternate ending, Bautista plays Chad, the leader of the Falcon Rangers who attempts to take over Michelle’s territory, leading to a truly hilarious confrontation involving short-shorts and Falcon Ranger Chad’s Big Nutty Nut Bark.

#3: Drax & Mantis

Poor Mantis. Her biggest offence is trying to fit in with the Guardians and in return she receives nothing but scorn and mockery, primarily from Drax. In “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” he calls her a hideous pet, a gross bug-lady and begins to dry heave at the thought of having a physical relationship with her. Despite Drax’s constant ribbing, it’s clear that he cares deeply for Mantis. From enjoying a side-splitting laugh at Quill’s expense, to telling Spider-Man that they “kick names and take ass”, Drax and Mantis make for one heck of a comedic duo.

#2: When He & Chris Pratt Painted Each Other’s Portraits

Also in:

Top 10 Funniest Timothée Chalamet Moments

Dave Bautista and Chris Pratt sat down with LAD Bible back in 2017 to do a little painting. Tasked with drawing each other’s portrait, the two friends spent the majority of the time engaging in some good-natured ribbing. From Pratt calling Bautista a “bad person”, to Bautista mocking Pratt’s manhood, it’s basically just insults and painting from start to finish. Bautista ultimately took a slightly more abstract approach, envisioning Pratt as a collection of shooting stars. The clip is a whole lot of fun thanks to the duo’s genuine friendship – It’s no coincidence that three of our entries involve Dave Bautista and Chris Pratt goofing around. Before we unveil our top pick, here are some honorable mentions: Drax’s Laugh When He Shows His Love of Pitbulls His Joke in “L.A. Slasher” Drawing Drax on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Playing a Delivery Guy on “TripTank”

#1: Drax’s One-Liners

Okay let’s be honest, we could have devoted an entire video to this subject. Drax has no shortage of hilarious one-liners spread across his MCU appearances. Brilliantly brought to life thanks to a star-making performance from Dave Bautista, Drax is the heart and soul of the Guardians. While his comments range from the super-stupid [My reflexes are too fast], to the super-hilarious [Dating advice to Quill], the character is never short for words. When we first meet Drax he seems like a no-nonsense kind of dude, but as he slowly reveals more of his personality it becomes wholly apparent that he’s really just a walking thesaurus with a heart of gold. Albeit, one who takes things way, way, way too literally. Why is Gamora indeed buddy. [Why is Gamora?]
