Top 20 Insanely Broken Anime Abilities

Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we are counting down our picks for the Top 10 Cute Anime Characters With Terrifying Abilities. For this list, we’ll be going over the guys, girls, and creatures across the anime scene that are utterly adorable, who are also capable of widespread destruction. Are any of these walking timebombs plushie worthy? Let us know in the comments!

#10: Jack the Ripper

“Fate/Apocrypha” (2017) The infamous serial killer has had many incarnations over the years, especially in the world of animation. Rarely do they appear as a female, especially in a get-up like that, overflowing with moe magic. That being said, the name isn’t just for show, as an Assassin-class Servant, this version of the Ripper is still very much an insane killer, in spite of her age. Not only can she summon a toxic mist, but conjure her blades within her chosen targets, the damage amplified if certain conditions are met.

#9: Meicoomon

“Digimon Adventure tri.” (2015-18) You would have thought that by now the Digidestined would be aware that the best thing to do with a virus is snuff it out. Then again, when it’s a fluffy ball of cuteness like this, it’s hard to believe that it could be responsible for causing an infection capable of undoing the Digital World. Along with a severe case of data madness, Meicoomon has a variety of Digivolutions under its belt, including a corrupted Mega form that could give the likes of Omnimon a run for their money.

#8: Kumoko

“So I'm a Spider, So What?” (2021) Being reincarnated truly is a roll of the dice – sometimes you become an all-powerful warrior, other times you end up as something cute and harmless. Kumoko sits somewhere in the middle. As far as CGI spiders go, she’s about as adorbs as it gets. On the other hand, she now bares the title of kin eater, since she devoured her new brothers and sisters in order to escape a grisly fate of her own. Armed with poison and slowly gaining more abilities with each struggle, Kumoko is the Dark Souls of isekaiers, one well on her way to reaching pro levels!

#7: Kyusaku "Q" Yumeno

“Bungo Stray Dogs” (2016-19) From the outset, this kid looks like the mascot for a magical slice of life show. Everything about them is mismatched, and yet still comes across as a charming, pint-sized Mad Hatter. How bad could they be? How about the most dangerous member of the Port Mafia? Should they be injured by anyone, Q can trap them in a hallucination that can compel them to even kill their dearest friends. Sound like a tall order? Not for Q. They side-step the whole thing by preemptively layering themselves with razor blades – so even a gentle nudge can trigger their power!

#6: Rimuru Tempest

“That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” (2018-) You have to give this blob credit, not only did he make slimes the cutest things to ever show up in a fantasy world, but also flipped any preconception that they couldn’t be OP as hell. Taking on the abilities of everything he devours, along with an all-seeing all-knowing, magical A.I giving him all manner of hints, Rimuru is borderline unstoppable. Even if you disregard his top tier magic, the fact he can evolve any monster to a higher state just by giving them a name, and subsequently earn their unflinching loyalty, sets him at the top of the food chain.

#5: Tony Tony Chopper

“One Piece” (1999-) A crucial member of the Straw Hat Pirates, can hold his own in a fight, one of the finest doctors of the new generation, and he’s also a deer human hybrid with a quirky hat. Chopper has got it all. He may lose some of his cute points when transforming into his various attack forms, but you can be damn sure this licensed reindeer never loses out on the fluffiness. Even when he goes full on kaiju and starts beating the crap out of his enemies after knocking down a few rumble balls.

#4: Monokuma

“Danganronpa: The Animation” (2013) Because how could an oversized, remote-controlled teddy bear be anything by wholesome? While he might make for an amazing plushie, Monokuma is the mascot of suffering, enacting the punishment games for the poor souls trapped inside of Hope’s Peak Academy. Bad enough that it gets a huge kick about pushing kids to commit murder, but it also pretty much impossible to take down. It can hold its own against a martial arts master like Sakura, and can pull death traps out of its tail whenever it chooses!

#3: Lucy

“Elfen Lied” (2004) Whether as a child, the incomprehensible Nyu, or even as her badass, original self – Lucy remains our Diclonious of choice. Striking pink hair, unassuming horns, and a life of oppression because, you know, human cruelty and all that. While you can’t help but feel sympathetic towards Lucy and her quest for revenge against a world that wronged her, her means of attack is still one of the most gruesome out there. Able to call upon invisible arms known as vectors, these things are fast, numerous and slice through bodies like paper.

#2: Zeno

“Dragon Ball Super” (2015-18) When you think strongest in the multiverse, a little talking jellybean with a childlike mentality isn’t likely to be the first thing you jump to. And yet, that’s exactly what the Omni King is – a bundle of wonderment that appears naïve, but can also squish universes with just a finger. It's hard to tell whether Zeno is Dragon Ball’s cutest creation or the scariest. You never know when their idea of fun might turn deadly and lead to the demise of billions. Maybe that’s what the Grand Minister is for?

#1: Alluka Zoldyck

“Hunter x Hunter” (2011-14) Given how Alluka comes from a family of assassins who treat killing like an afternoon walk, it's amazing that Killua’s sibling grew up as innocent as they did. And that’s in spite of having a power that puts all other Nen users to shame. Host to a distorted creature known as Nanika, this featureless being is a wish granter of limitless possibility. If you fulfil the conditions, then they will perform a miracle like bringing someone back from the edge of death. Fail and…well…you can look forward to a messy end.
