These TV couples made us believe in love in 2021. For this list, we'll be looking at all of the television couples – both old and new – who stole our hearts this year. Our countdown includes "Loki," "Love Life," "Yellowstone," and more!

#10: Loki & Sylvie “Loki” (2021-)

7 Important Things to Remember Before Loki Season 2

This series premiered on Disney+ this year to great anticipation. Loki is a beloved character, and MCU fans were excited to see him finally take the spotlight in his own story. Well, not only did fans get a great showing from Tom Hiddleston, but they were also introduced to the mysterious Sylvie, played by the great Sophia Di Martino. Loki and Sylvie butted heads a bit at first, but soon connected deeply over their outsider status. There was insane chemistry between the two leads, and fans were also excited to confirm both Loki and Sylvie as canonically queer characters. So, while we loved other pairings in this story – like Loki and Mobius, for instance – we’ve got to give it to these two.

#9: Otis & Ruby “Sex Education” (2019-)

Before the third season of “Sex Education” premiered on Netflix, fans everywhere were buzzing to see if Maeve and Otis would finally get together, or if Maeve would instead choose to pursue something with Isaac. Maeve and Otis did share a kiss, but this entry on the list isn’t going to them. Instead, we’ve got to give it up for the surprising fan favorite couple of the year, Ruby and Otis. These two shouldn’t work on paper – Ruby is the queen bee, Otis is far from the most popular guy in school. Oddly enough, though, the two had a pretty sweet and well-adjusted relationship. In typical fashion, Otis messed things up, but here’s to hoping good times are ahead for these two.

#8: Alina & Mal “Shadow and Bone” (2021-)

Fantasy fans got a big hit in the Netflix series “Shadow and Bone” this year, and along with that came plenty of couples to ship. Some fans undoubtedly felt drawn to the obvious attraction between Nina and Matthias. Or the forbidden nature of Alina and the Darkling, General Kirigan. However, most of us couldn’t help but fall for the relationship between Alina and her childhood friend Mal. When Alina discovers the amount of power she holds at the beginning of the series, she and Mal are separated. Although they don’t spend the majority of the series together, fans were won over by Mal’s unwavering loyalty to Alina. The few moments they do get together are adorable.

#7: Melissa & Josh “Schmigadoon!” (2021-)

Musicals, especially Golden Age musicals, are ripe for romance, but can be pretty silly too. That’s why audiences loved “Schmigadoon!” The whip-smart, funny parody musical series starred Cecily Strong and Keegan-Michael Key as Melissa and Josh, a couple struggling with their relationship when they are trapped in the world of Schmigadoon. Unsuccessful in leaving together, they try finding love with other people in town in order to return to the real world. Needless to say this leads to a series of hilarious musical parodies gone wrong. Eventually the end of the show brings them back together again in a truly lovely way. If you love musicals, but also really love to make fun of them, this is the couple for you.

#6: Marcus & Mia “Love Life” (2020-)

The first season of “Love Life” swept romantic comedy fans off their feet. The love anthology series was refreshingly modern and a delight to watch. But in 2021, “Love Life” really found its stride and its best couple in Marcus and Mia. The second season focuses mostly on Marcus and his journey to find love post-divorce. He does so with Mia, played wonderfully by Jessica Williams. But it's not smooth sailing right away. Through “Love Life,” Marcus and Mia showed audiences how to fight for love, and how to get through the hard parts of relationships.

#5: Rip & Beth “Yellowstone” (2018-)

And the award for most dramatic, up-and-down couple goes to… none other than Montana’s own Rip and Beth. When “Yellowstone” first began in 2018, these two were as volatile as they come – sometimes crazy for each other, sometimes so mad they would be spitting fire. But, as the seasons went on, Rip and Beth quickly became the most beloved couple on “Yellowstone.” Yes, they can still be tempestuous, but they also are fiercely loyal to each other, and have given us a plethora of sweet, stirring moments over the years. Plus, have you seen them? Definitely could take top prize in a list of hottest couples of the west list.

#4: Jake & Amy “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (2013-)

Comedy’s favorite couple finally came back this year. The most recent season of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” premiered in August, reuniting anxious fans with the best couple in the precinct, Jake and Amy. If you haven’t watched yet, and you’re worried about loving Jake and Amy less than you did before, don’t worry. These two are just as competitive, funny, and crazy in love as they’ve always been. This season, the two also have a son, the adorable McClane “Mac” Peralta-Santiago. This family addition makes for even more hilarious shenanigans for these two new parents.

#3: Lucifer & Chloe “Lucifer” (2016-21)

Top 10 Best Lucifer & Chloe Moments

As fans anxiously awaited this year’s season of “Lucifer,” the popular television series based on the DC Comics, they knew that this one would be the last. There were many questions to be answered, but mostly fans were concerned with the fate of one of our favorite television couples, Lucifer and Chloe. These two have had their ups and downs over the years, and it seemed likely that whatever end they might come to, it would be bittersweet. We’ll try to avoid too many spoilers here, but Lucifer and Chloe showed their passion and loyalty for each other in spades this season. Even though things might not have ended quite like we all wanted them to they have earned a permanent place in our hearts.

#2: Roy & Keeley “Ted Lasso” (2020-)

Top 10 Friendship Moments on Ted Lasso

The soccer comedy series “Ted Lasso” took us all by storm in 2020. A big part of that was the hilarious and deeply heartfelt relationship between ex-footballer Roy Kent and “famous for being almost famous” celebrity Keeley Jones. Roy and Keeley genuinely bring out the best in each other. He grounds her a little bit, and she brings out the light and joy in him, and that dynamic carried on into the second season. But, things did get a little rocky for this duo in season two, leaving their relationship – and fans – a bit on edge. We hope these two make it work in season three, because we genuinely might not be able to handle it if they don’t. Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions. Hope & Josie, “Legacies” (2018-) Friends to Lovers John B. & Sarah, “Outer Banks” (2020-) Love On the Shore Mare & Zabel, “Mare of Easttown” (2020-) Partners or More? Wilhelm & Simon, “Young Royals” (2021-) The Royal Love We Deserve Max & Helen, “New Amsterdam” (2018-) A Hospital Romance

#1: Wanda & Vision “WandaVision” (2021-)

Before 2021, if you told us that one of our favorite couples in the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be Wanda and Vision, there’s no way we would have believed you. But this witch and robot pairing quickly stole our hearts in Disney Plus’ “WandaVision.” As well as giving us a fun trip through television history, the series explored Wanda’s grieving process after the events of “Avengers: Endgame.” Wanda and Vision – even though it may have been some sort of strange, made-up version of him – had a genuine and tender relationship that all fans suddenly found themselves rooting for. We couldn’t help but be devastated when the inevitable end arrived. But of course Vision put it perfectly.
