Top 10 Best Anime Girls 2019

Welcome to WatchMojo and today we are counting down our picks for the Top 10 Best Girls of Anime 2019.
For this list, we'll be looking at the best female characters to come out of this year's anime line-up. Whether they won us over with their unyielding spirits, adorable personalities or knock-me-dead fanservice, these ladies have now taken their place among the pantheon of modern animation's greatest lassies. As always If they debuted in shows in previous years, they're not welcome here – sorry, Trish.
#10: Miku Nakano
“The Quintessential Quintuplets” (2019)
It was no easy task choosing which of these five siblings should take the crown, but in the end, we just couldn’t resist giving it to Miku. While her grades are just as abysmal as her sisters, this adorable red head is far shyer, preferring to keep to herself and let her more rambunctious siblings take up the limelight…until she finds herself slowly falling in love with her tutor, wherein she not only finds the confidence to exert herself more, but also finds new passions along the way. Futaro, my dude, just pick her already.
#9: Sakura Hibiki
“How Heavy are the Dumbbells You Lift?” (2019)
Not quite what you expect when you imagine a female gym nut, but as it happens this beauty is a natural when it comes to shattering preconceptions, mostly with that monstrous right swing of hers. While she loves nothing more than to chow down, laze about and drool over the prospect of a boyfriend, Sakura’s choice to lose weight and tone her body to peak sexiness ends up unlocking a genuine desire to exercise, opening new doors for friendships as well as exposing some crazy, innate strength. We’d say she’s a ray of sunshine, but then again sunshine doesn’t normally decimate the competition in an arm wrestle.
#8: Tamaki Kotatsu
“Fire Force” (2019)
And the cat girls just keep on coming! Though this particular hellcat is liable to leave you with more burns than scratches. One of the newer members of Fire Force Company 8, Tamaki is as spunky as the come, with an unfortunate tendency to always end up in lewd situations at the most random times. That’s not to say she isn’t a fighter though, as her pyrokinetic abilities allow her to forge a blazing cat guise that can slice through most Infernals. Say what you will about her motormouth, you can’t deny her breakdown after Shinra saved her hit you right in the soul.
#7: Sempai
“Magical Sempai” (2019)
She may be the worst magician to ever take up a cape, she may suffer from terrible stage fright, she may have more wardrobe malfunctions than even the clumsiest of ecchi stars, but damnit, we love her to bits. Even after numerous failures and various accidental exposures, Senpai is undeterred in her desire to put on a great magic show, roping in her unwilling assistant along each embarrassing endeavour. Here’s hoping she one day manages to pull it off…and find a magician’s uniform that actually fits her thickness.
#6: Kaguya Shinomiya
“Kaguya-sama: Love is War” (2019)
She’s just a girl in love, wanting nothing more than for her fellow school council member to recognise her affection…just as long as she doesn’t have to confess her own feelings! Despite being a genius and the very picture of a proper young woman, Kaguya is about as socially and romantically inept as they come, which of course leads the way to all manner of hilarious and adorable interactions with her equally stubborn crush. And don’t even get us started on sick Kaguya, lets hope we see more in season 2!
#5: Mereoleona Vermillion
“Black Clover” (2017-)
While Noelle will always be our royal of choice, we can’t express just how much of an impact this lioness made when she arrived on the scene. While still a noblewoman, Mereo doesn’t really care for tradition and formality, if anything all she’s concerned about is kicking the crap out of people who get in her way, and you’d better believe she has the firepower to back it up. While she’s ultimately a good person whose abs will having you purring before you know it, just remember this flame magic user even makes Yami shudder in terror…
#4: All of Them
“We Never Learn” (2019)
Yes, we’re cheating here. No, we don’t care. Want to know why? Because the calibur of waifu in this show is some of the best we have ever laid eyes on. Hats off to Kirisu for managing to subvert the teacher trope in all her tsundere glory, but the real winners here are the main three! You’ve got Fumino – the natural beauty who dreams of becoming an astronomy despite her lack of scientific know-how. Rizu – the mathematical genius whose emotional ineptitude and titanic assets leaves everyone blushing. And finally Uruka – the ultimate athlete unable to confess her feelings to her childhood friend. You’re one lucky son of a dead-anime-dad, Naruyuki!
#3: Mamako Oosuki
“Do You Love Your Mom and Her Two-Hit Multi-Target Attacks?” (2019)
There are MILFs, and then there is Mamako. Not only did this pure-hearted, pinnacle of motherly love manage to leave plenty of jaws dropped thanks to her angelic nature and sinfully perfect frame, but she also stands as a prophet bound to usher in a new wave of MILFsekai that is no doubt on the horizon. After following her son into a virtual reality video game, Mamako ends up tagging along for the ride, ruining his self-serving power fantasy by instilling true values in him, slaying every threat with her own overpoweredness, and generally being the best thing ever.
#2: Nezuko Kamado
“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” (2019)
We’re with Tanjiro on this one – Nezuko is an absolute beauty, even if recent events turned her into a muzzled demon constantly fighting off the urge to consume the blood of humans. While the circumstances around her transformation are wholly tragic, there’s no getting around just how damned adorable she is. Oh sure, she’ll rip your ass in half if anyone threatens her brother, but most of the time she’s just content to sit in her basket and look adorable…and that’s all before she shrinks down to Mini-Nezuko. We’re with the lads here, she must be protected at all cost.
Before we reveal our number one best girl, here are a few equally wonderful waifus.
Shea
“Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest” (2019)
Senko-San
“The Helpful Fox Senko-san” (2019)
Emma
“The Promised Neverland” (2019)
Ishtar
“Fate/Grand Order - Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia” (2019)
Karura Kure
“Kengan Ashura” (2019)
#1: Raphtalia
“The Rising of the Shield Hero” (2019)
From slave to sword, this maiden was the constant light in Naofumi’s ever darkening world, and as such immediately endeared us with just how noble a soul she truly was. That, and the fact she’s a racoon girl who’s so desperately in love yet also beyond innocent doesn’t hurt either. After pledging her allegiance to Naofumi when he saved her from life in a cage, Raphtalia quickly grew to become a capable swordswoman, one could fight alongside the Shield Hero as his equal. Her blade never fails to cut down a foe, while her unconditional affection served as the catalyst to bring Naofumi back from his lowest moments. Dude. Marry her. Now.
