Netflix proved that such shows could be done well, and that DC didn't have a monopoly on characters who translate well on the small screen. Enter "Cloak & Dagger" one of Marvel's edgier superhero properties about a pair of young super-powered love-birds. In the comics, Cloak and Dagger deal subjects like poverty and drug addiction, and the show hopes to bring these same ideas to a wider audience. #2: "The Staircase" (2018-) Netflix Before you say anything, yes this IS another crime doc series on Netflix, but like most of the offerings so far, "The Staircase" is as unique and suspenseful as the crime it is based on. In fact our favourite thing about this particular series is how it departs from traditional crime series formulas. Illustrating a crime from 2001, the series is actually 16 years in the making, with director Jean-Xavier de Lestrade, who did a series on the same crime back in 2003, returns to the scene to continue where he left off in telling us about the death and subsequent investigation on the death of businesswoman Kathleen Peterson. #1: "Sense8" Series Finale (2015-18) Netflix Created by the acclaimed sci-fi action writer/director team Lana and Lilly Wachowski, Sense8 occupies a strange place in Netflix's lineup. Originally airing in 2015 Sense8 is about eight strangers from across the world who share an unexplained psychic link. The eight individuals soon find themselves wrapped up in a conspiracy plot and collectively on the run from a mysterious organization. This month marks the show's series finale with a feature length episode, so now you can finally binge the entire saga from start to finish, and be satisfied by the closure and a payoff that most modern TV series never get.
