Welcome to MojoPlays and today we’re igniting our lightsabers and tapping into the force to take on the 10 hardest bosses in Star Wars Jedi Survivor. For this list, we’ll be looking at the bosses that almost wiped out Cal Kestis during his second outing. Warning, there will be full story spoilers for Jedi Survivor and its many, many boss fights. Who was the most challenging foe you faced in a galaxy far, far away? Clear your mind and let us know down in the comments.

Zeik

Zeik is first encountered accompanying Rayvis outside of Pyloon’s Saloon hassling everyone’s favorite amphibious alien Turgle before Cal steps in. Zeik isn’t the first Bedlam Raider players have faced by this point but he does pose a slightly more significant challenge than your basic Raider. His jet pack makes him much more mobile and he has a potentially devastating and unblockable lunge attack that can easily eat away a chunk of Cal’s health. Once you get the timing of his attacks down, he doesn’t pose much of a threat. He does make for great practice for when his inevitable copycats appear.

The Ninth Sister

Along with many surprising twists in the opening hours of Jedi Survivor, probably none were as shocking as the return of the Ninth Sister, last seen plummeting to her supposed death in Jedi Fallen Order. Now she’s back with a brand-new arm and looking to settle the score with Cal. After their initial encounter is interrupted, the pair finally have their showdown in the wreckage of the Ninth Sister’s gunship. Although this is still technically the tutorial, she puts up an admirable fight and will use her brute strength and force powers to keep Cal constantly on the defensive. However, this isn’t the same Jedi she faced 5 years ago, and once Cal unlocks the Dual Stance, the tide of the battle quickly turns in his favor.

Rancor

The Rancor is undoubtedly one of the most feared beasts in all the galaxy and Cal has the misfortune of crossing paths with one shortly after arriving on Koboh. While investigating a rumor of missing prospectors, Cal will come face to toothy jaw with the beast, where it will quickly make short work of those who enter its domain unprepared. The Rancor is one of the toughest enemies players can face this early on in their adventure, with its long swipes and room clearing smash attacks making it difficult to find a moment to catch your breath. Above all else, stay away from its grab attacks or Cal will instantly become the Rancor’s next meal. For those especially confident in their abilities, you can take on two Rancor at once through one of the game’s many challenging Force Tears.

Skirton

Shortly after arriving on Jedha, Cal finds himself being stalked by a scorpion that swims under the sand like some kind of space graboid from Tremors. The second his feet hit the sand, the hunt is on unless Cal can find solid ground. We all knew this would end in a confrontation and thankfully it's one we don’t have to face alone, with Merrin fighting at Cal’s side. The Skirton’s enormous claw can smash Cal into the sand as well as block many of his strongest attacks. If players let Merrin agro the giant scorpion, you stand a better chance of avoiding its tail strikes as well as getting a few good hits in before being forced to retreat.

Tague Louesh

Although technically another more powerful Bedlam Raider working for Rayvis, Tague Louesh is a significant difficulty spike over other “boss” Bedlam Raider’s like Zeik. Patiently waiting for Cal in the Grand Courtyard, Tague Louesh rushes Cal with a dual bladed lightsaber and although he lacks the force powers of a Jedi, he makes up for it with a grappling hook to tell Cal to “Get over here”. Although clearly still new to using the saber, his aggression is able to get a few cheap hits in, but as long as Cal keeps his distance, his grappling hook can’t reach him, and Cal’s force powers and lightsaber throws can make short work of his stagger meter.

Darth Vader

You would think Bode’s betrayal would be the biggest surprise to occur during the assault on Jedha, but emerging from the flames of the temple like the ultimate asthmatic badass he is, Darth Vader returns for a rematch with Cere. Darth Vader is one of the strongest force users in the entire galaxy, and can easily decimate Cere before the fight even has a chance to begin. Whittling down Vader’s health bar is as much about strategy as it is strength, as becoming too aggressive will leave Cere vulnerable to counterattack. Canonically we knew this is a losing battle but given that Cere is far more powerful than she once was, we’ll admit, we had hope.

Rayvis

Dagan Gera’s righthand Gen’Dai, Rayvis is fiercely loyal to his Jedi master and is a battle-hardened warrior looking for a worthy challenger. While searching for the compass to find their way to Tanaloor, Cal and Rayvis’ back and forth finally reaches its climax. Rayvis quickly proves himself to be one of the most challenging encounters in the game up to this point with unblockable long-and short-range attacks, dealing devastating damage along with a near impenetrable defense. And just like any good boss fight, this isn’t even his final form. Once Rayvis’ armor comes off his attacks become even more aggressive. He also uses his blaster for long range attacks. Persistence, lots of stim canisters, and mastering the parry system are paramount to victory in this fight.

Dagan Gera

The dark side is always just there under the surface, tempting the Jedi and oftentimes all it needs is a little push. After Cal released Dagan, the former Jedi wasted no time switching teams and immediately turned on Cal, nearly beating him with literally one hand. Although their cat and mouse game would have them cross paths again, their final confrontation is where the force is truly unleashed between the two. Even with Bode’s help early on, Dagan’s constant switching between Dual Wield and Double-Bladed stances makes him unpredictable. Oftentimes, he’ll employ multiple force powers at once, even projecting multiple versions of himself to keep the player distracted. In the end, both Bode, and the player wonder if it’s truly over or just another vision.

Bode Akuna

As if Bode’s betrayal of the team wasn’t shocking enough, the reveal he was a former Jedi was sure to have caught many by surprise. And although he may have been hiding his connection to the force, he is still very much in tune with its ways and easily defeats Cal in their first real encounter. Finally cornered on Tanaloor, and despite Cal’s best efforts, Bode is too far lost. The traitor Jedi makes use of not only his force powers but also his bounty hunter arsenal, taking shots at Cal with his blaster and covering the arena in explosives. In the end, it’s only by tapping into the Dark Side himself that Cal can overcome his former ally and ends their battle with the very blaster Bode gifted to him.

Spawn of Oggdo

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the swamp. Oggdo Bodgo was one the most surprisingly difficult enemies in Jedi Fallen Order and it seems his brood has spread across the galaxy before his death by Cal’s saber. Dropped into his lair, Spawn of Oggdo immediately sets about enacting revenge, and somehow is even more powerful than his father before him, with many of his attacks even resulting in instant death. Using many of the same attacks players are familiar with, Spawn of Oggdo changes up the formula by mixing and matching its attacks to keep veterans on their toes and newcomers squarely on their backs. Oh well, at least we never have to fight it or its brood ever again…wait a second…
