Ok, first up…

The Front Runner: Oral-B Pro 1000

The widely reviewed Oral-B Pro 1000 is not the company’s top-of-the-line model, but for its price, it is hands-down the best electric toothbrush around, according to the No. 1 ratings by websites like The Spruce, Wirecutter, and Business Insider. Also, because it’s rechargeable, you won’t have to spend a fortune on batteries.

It’s also got a cross action brush head design and an up-to-2 minute timer that pulses every 30 seconds to keep you brushing longer and your teeth squeaky clean.

Priced at just under $50, The Oral-B Pro 1000 is not a bargain-basement model. But its capabilities and the reputation of the Oral-B brand put it as our Front Runner product.

The Wildcard: Goby Electric Toothbrush Kit

If you’re a fan of getting things delivered to your door on a regular basis, why not consider an electric toothbrush delivery as well?

The Goby Electric Toothbrush is not just one of the top models of the year. It’s also ranked as the best subscription toothbrush on the market with an ergonomic design and oscillating heads that are mailed to you when you need them. Plus, fun colors and two settings — standard and sensitive — make this toothbrush perfect for kids too!

Consumers loved the 60-day money-back trial and lifetime guarantee. Priced at between $60 and $80, the Goby is a good option for people looking for something different, but with a whole lot of convenience.

The Newcomer: Quip

Quip is a newer name in the toothbrush game. It is also a subscription-based service, but the brush heads cost a lot less than most other brands.

The Spruce rated Quip as “best subscription toothbrush,” while CNet voted it the best electric travel toothbrush due to its slim design and because it runs on a single AAA battery. Quip is one of the lowest cost, most convenient electric toothbrushes on the market. It also comes in a kids’ version and a choice of colors.

Available in either plastic at $25 or metal at $40, each Quip set comes with a brush, brush head, toothpaste and a battery. If you opt for a subscription, they’ll send a new brush head and battery every 3 months for $5 to $10.

The Comparable: Philips Sonicare 2 Series

If the aforementioned Oral-B Pro 1000 doesn’t do it for you, the Sonicare 2 Series is a good alternative as an all-around electric toothbrush at a reasonable price.

The rechargeable toothbrush has a two-minute timer, but not the 30-second pulses of the Oral-B Pro 1000. The unique “sonic” action of the brush is designed to get teeth whiter than manual brushing, vibrating 31,000+ times per minute.

Of course, if you want bells and whistles, you can spend more than $100 on the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean. But for a high-quality, affordably priced sonic electric toothbrush, it’s tough to do better than the Philips Sonicare 2 which is priced between $50 and $70.

The Deluxe: Oral-B Pro 7500

Any ADA-approved toothbrush, whether it costs $20 or $120, will get your teeth clean. But if you want a high-tech toothbrush and are willing to spend the money, consider the Oral-B Pro 7500.

The built-in pressure sensor actually guides you to apply just the right amount of pressure when you brush, displaying a warning light if you’re pressing too hard and offers five modes of operation, making it perfect for those with sensitive teeth or focused on whitening.

Rated by Business Insider as the best high-end (or in their words, the best state-of-the-art) electric toothbrush, the Oral-B pro 7500 is also Bluetooth-enabled and connects to your mobile device to track your brushing habits to help you set goals. This brush clocks in at around $130.

So, Which Electric Toothbrush Should You Choose?

Before buying any electric toothbrush, you’ll want to weigh a number of factors, including battery life, cost of replacement heads, and even the color choices available.  Don’t discount the options for returning the product if you don’t like how it feels or cleans your teeth once you actually get to try it.  But one of these five options is sure to fit the bill for you!
