Invisible Monsters, Babies and Norman Reedus
You have to hand it to Hideo Kojima, when he wants to get people talking about his games, he goes all the way. With fans chomping at the bit to get a glimpse of some actual Death Stranding gameplay, Kojima gave us all an extended insight into what kind of game we were in for. And by that, we mean he gave us a trailer that was so batshit insane that we don’t actually have the words to describe what we just witnessed.
According to a recent article on Gamespot –
Hideo Kojima’s mysterious next project, Death Stranding, has gotten more in-depth (and intensely weird) new trailer. At The Game Awards, we got a look at an extended trailer detailing the incredibly bizarre and creepy world of Kojima Productions’ next project. Despite more context, there’s still plenty of questions that remain to be answered.
After the trailer, Hideo Kojima and Norman Reeds took to the stage. During their presentation, Norman Reedus praised Kojima as a creative, stating that the experience working on the game opened him up to new things during the making of this game. Before leaving, Reedus closed out their showing of Death Stranding by stating “And there’s nothing that will stand in our way.”
There’s no official word yet on when Death Stranding will release, but Kojima himself hinted that it might launch in 2018. It stars Mads Mikkelson (Hannibal), director Guillermo Del Toro, and Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead).
We love Kojima’s work. Ever since the first Metal Gear Solid, the man has been pushing the boundaries of what video games are and represent. We’re not one to question his creative decisions or the direction of his new passion project. That being said, we do indeed have an ocean’s worth of questions!
What are these oily creatures? Why should’t you breathe around them? Why did that one guy start ageing rapidly? Why are there babies inside canisters? What the heck was that giant monster? Why is there another baby inside Normun Reedus? We are so monumentally confused, and yet could not be more excited to see what Kojima has planned for us!
