At the heart of this show is undeniably stand up, and many of its best moments involve our titular character on stage performing. As we saw in season one, sometimes Midge has the audience captivated with her particular brand of comedic genius and sometimes she totally bombs. We’re always on the edge of our seats waiting to see what comes out of her mouth next, and we feel pretty confident that this will continue in season two. In the season one finale, it’s clear that Midge is finally finding her voice, and we can’t wait to see what she does with it next.

Top 5 The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Facts
Alex Borstein took home the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Susie, and anyone who’s seen her performance would agree that it was well deserved. The hilarious, deadpan bartender is the one who “discovers” Midge’s talent as a performer, and acts as her manager as her career beings to take off. She’s a complex character who’s often hard on her prodigy, but who packs a whole lot of heart into every action. While we’ve seen a little bit of Susie’s private life in season one, we hope that she becomes even more well rounded and prominent as the series progresses.
#3: Joel and Midge’s Fate as a Couple
Joel’s admission that he’s cheating on his wife, and their subsequent decision to split up, is the main catalyst for the action of the series. The rest of the first season sees them going back and forth on whether they can possibly make things work, with Midge largely denying Joel’s requests to give their relationship a second chance. In the finale however, the two end up in bed together, leaving viewers to wonder what will come to pass between them in season two. Considering how much of the story hinges on Midge’s independence, we have a feeling they won’t be living their happily ever after any time soon.
#2: Midge's Family’s Reaction to her Comedy
In the finale of the show’s first season, Joel finally sees Midge on stage and finds out about her performing stand up for the first time. We get to see a bit of his reaction, though we’re still curious about how his feelings will progress. Midge’s family on the other hand, still has no idea what she does when she runs off each night. Will they find out in season two? Will Joel be the one to tell them? It seems unlikely that she’ll be able to hide her lifestyle for long, and from what we’ve seen so far, there seems to be a good chance that her parents won’t exactly be supporting of this new career path.

Though Midge’s career has been ramping up throughout the first eight episodes, we still haven’t seen her become truly successful. In season two, will “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” show that even in the mid-20th century, a woman really can have it all? We have high hopes for the successes that Midge could have in the New York comedy scene, but Rachel Brosnahan, who plays Midge on the show, ominously said in an interview, "I can’t say a whole lot about where she’s headed in season 2, but good things can’t last long." Uh oh!
