Top 5 Hilarious Fails on Netflix's Nailed It!
These are the funniest fail son Nailed It! For this list, we're looking at the biggest failures in the first season of “Nailed It”. We promise we won't be too harsh! We get it; baking is hard! However, allow us to bake in this SPOILER WARNING for those of you who still need to watch the show. We've included failed cakes, donuts, and more! On top of that, this show has some hilarious contestants too!
#5: The Blue Tower of Disaster Heather Creekmore
You’ve probably seen this pic floating around on the web, and it serves as an accurate representation of what you can expect from the rest of the season. In the premiere, titled “First Date to Life Mate”, the contestants get the chance to replicate a cake made by the legendary Sylvia Weinstock. As you might expect, no one succeeds, at least in accuracy. The worst of the three, however, is Heather Creekmore’s cake, which looks like a microwaved smurf. Credit where credit is due, though: those flowers look amazing. Besides, we’d still stuff our faces with that cake.
#4: Extinction of the Poodle-saurus Megan Swanson
Have you ever tried making a functioning, erupting volcano cake? Well, it’s very, very difficult, as the contestants figure out in the “Weird Science” episode. But while the other competitors tried to replicate the original volcano cake, Megan Swanson put her own spin on it. This “narrative cake” (as described by host Nicole Byer), shows the aftermath of the volcano’s eruption, complete with a scorched tree and a burned dinosaur. It looks like a giant mess, but hey, volcanic eruptions are messy, so Megan definitely gets points for accuracy!
#3: Pirate Donut Amanda Giles
… When the contestants choose their donuts, full-time grandmother Amanda selects an adorable cartoon pirate design. Despite its deceptive simplicity, this donut gives Amanda a hard time, and judging by the final product, making it was anything but easy. These donuts look a bit more scurvy-afflicted than their original counterparts. Or maybe they were cursed by Aztec gold? Whatever the case, these soggy swashbucklers would definitely be made to walk to the plank. At the end of the day, though, we wouldn’t have done any better, so we’ve gotta give it up for Amanda’s courage and positive attitude!
#2: “Stressed” President Kymberli Talton
What better way to finish the first season than by baking cakes modeled after U.S. President Donald J. Trump? That was rhetorical; don’t answer that. Anyways, for this challenge the contestants must sculpt cakes to look like Trump, and yes, it turns into a disaster. However, between the three, it’s Kymberli Talton’s cake that’s the worst. In fact, it borders on ghoulish, and will definitely be haunting guest host Jay Chandrasekhar’s nightmares for a long time. From the way Kymberli’s dancing, though, this is a cake she must be proud of.
#1: A Horrifying Fairy Tale Toni Bryant
Here’s another treat that looks more terrifying than tasty. In the “Fantasyland” episode, our chefs must replicate a cake designed like a fairytale castle, complete with a long-haired princess peeking out from the top. Amanda manages to make something decent this time, but our star here is Toni Bryant. She was obviously more influenced by Tim Burton than by Disney, and it shows in her creepy princess and decapitated dragon. Despite these scary little details, Toni still manages to walk away as the episode’s winner. Well, Toni, we wish you, your family, and your catering business the best of luck!
