Top 10 Worst Movie Scenes Of The Last Decade
#10: All Is Fair
Snow White (2025)
Shes known for being in franchises like Fast and Furious or Wonder Woman, but that doesnt necessarily mean Gal Gadot should be in musicals. This sequence from Snow White shows off her less-than-optimal range. This doesnt mean shes great in dramas like Death on the Nile either. As the Evil Queen, her acting and singing abilities are tested. All Is Fair is completely focused on the antagonists mission and overall vibe. Gadot does not meet the moment, instead squandering what couldve been a fun showcase for the character. The accompanying costumes and set design only mask the obvious drawbacks. Next time, they should cast somebody with more musical theater experience.
#9: Flex Off
Dirty Grandpa (2016)
Robert De Niro might be one of the greatest actors ever, but he also stars in many questionable projects. Dirty Grandpa feels like one of his career lows. It builds up to a competition where he has to show off his muscles. With his shirt off, De Niro stands next to Zac Efron in a moment that might shake viewers to their core. Why are we being subjected to this and why did we watch it in the first place? The questions continue from there, but the actor puts his body out there for this comedic dud of a sequence. You probably know where its going, but you also want it to be over. None of the shock humor works that well either.
#8: The Video Game
Serenity (2019)
If you havent heard of this film, youre missing out on a weird trainwreck. The superior cast makes you think youre getting something much better. Jeremy Strongs mystery man later links up with the protagonist Dill, revealing a baffling surprise to the fisherman. The scene in question explains the larger game at play. Matthew McConaugheys character is a video game hero, living a simulation created by a grieving son. Its a bizarre revelation for what already seems like a disjointed drama. Rendering the rest of this plot useless, this scene encompasses the undefinable limits of a troubled story. Other movies like Dont Worry Darling suffer a similar fate when the same trope pops up.
#7: Goodbye Eeyore
Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey (2023)
Some things dont need to exist at all. A horror movie based on a renowned childrens book is one thing, but then they go and kill Eeyore. You might be having a bad time and then you realize its only getting worse. The fan-favorite donkey does not survive, being eaten instead by the other animals. Its not the kind of image you want stuck in your mind. Your inner child might be heartbroken or traumatized afterwards, making you wish you never watched this in the first place. Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey tries desperately to terrify you and ends up getting viewers angry.
#6: Closing Arguments
Joker: Folie à Deux (2024)
This sequel to the 2019 Joker drew mixed reactions to say the least. Turning a villain story into a musical, the film builds to an anti-climactic court hearing. This scene follows the complicated and somewhat unbelievable legal trial to its endpoint. After blending both drama and musical numbers, this movie feels like its going to reach some profound statement. The result is something less than effective. Arthur Fleck defends himself in court, renouncing his ways and essentially letting go of the larger persona. His alter ego seems to fade away and the movie doesnt capitalize much on this twist. The sequence feels somewhat like a cop out, leaving you more frustrated than anything.
#5: Welcome Back, Palpatine
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
Not many people love this entry in the Star Wars franchise. The inclusion of a long-lost villain only makes things worse. For some reason, the filmmakers decide to throw in Emperor Palpatine without much explanation. During a Rebel meeting, Poe Dameron abruptly announces the villains return. The stunned reactions are fitting for such a random twist. For people heavily invested in the series, this revelation is a confusing surprise that seems to bend the rules. The dialogue doesnt clarify much of anything either. Some characters dont stay dead in this universe, making viewers question if any antagonist can ever really die.
#4: Saving Martha
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
In a controversial move, this film showed a more violent Batman fighting Superman. The caped crusader has the upper hand until his opponent pulls a trump card. Kal-El stops Bruce Wayne from ending it by saying one name, causing the latter to do a 180. Its an anti-climactic way to finish such a huge brawl between the two. It also feels a little cheap to use Martha Kent as a distraction. The scene tries to take an emotional detour, but the flashback lays it all on too thick. Wayne is easily swayed by the last-minute info and alters his mission. With choices like these, its easy to see why some people criticized the DCEU and Zack Snyders vision.
#3: Milos Dance
Morbius (2022)
This superhero movie is nothing short of special. The internet was left mystified by it, joking about its dialogue and eccentric moments. This particular scene helps to show off its so-bad-its-good quality. The character Milo enjoys his own dance, defying the usual villain tropes of being a reserved type. Matt Smith certainly digs into the role too. Hes adding in various moves and flourishes, making this one of the goofier parts of Morbius. Its either the work of a madman or a mad genius. Either way, the dancing reminds us of the weird experience youll have watching the film. Other recent Sony comic book adventures have been equally baffling including Kraven the Hunter and Madame Web.
#2: Jennyanydots
Cats (2019)
Much has been said about Tom Hoopers Cats. The musical adaptation features many horrifying moments, but this scene encapsulates the many lows of the overall package. Jennyanydots and her number include more than a couple strange images. With bugs and mice everywhere, youll be questioning the choreography as various creatures take the screen. If the music doesnt give you pause, you might be distracted by the character models. The sequence might very well provoke many existential and negative thoughts. In a few short minutes, the absurdity becomes too much. Ask your doctor before watching this unfold.

#1: Man to Woman
Emilia Pérez (2024)
Among the more controversial films of 2024, Emilia Pérez features a provocative plot full of crime, music, and social issues. A cartel leader wants to transition into a woman, sending Zoe Saldanas lawyer to organize the procedure. This is the basis for a song with oddly straightforward lyrics. Its not the most nuanced look at gender-affirming surgery or trans rights either. Even a novice could find the words clunky, with the music not doing much to help this scene along. Its no wonder that this track helped to create negative buzz around the movie. With the larger context of an entire story, this scene still fumbles to the finish.
