The Hardest Boss Fight From Every Metroid Game

These professional pursuers will track down any man, woman, or creature for cold, hard cash. Welcome to WatchMojo.com and today we’ll be counting down our picks for the Top 10 Video Game Bounty Hunters. For this list, we’ll be looking at video game characters that hunt people or monsters for some type of payment. While the definitions may overlap slightly, we’re making a distinction here between bounty hunters and mercenaries, as mercs will be getting their own list.

#10: Edison Trent

“Freelancer” (2003) Here’s a hunter who doesn’t get discouraged when he’s forced to start over from scratch. Trent barely escapes from a space station known as Freeport 7 after a deal goes wrong. He loses his ship and only has a handful of credits to his name.T rent then works for different factions to earn some money. These jobs include escorts, trades, and hunting down criminals. He doesn’t waste much time with his straight-to-the-point, no-nonsense personality. He gets down to business quickly. You don’t mess with a guy who drinks something called a “Sidewinder Fang.” Plus, you have to respect the brown leather jacket.

#9: Silas Greaves

“Call of Juarez: Gunslinger” (2013) You know when someone is telling a story and they’re dressing up the tale? “Call of Juarez: Gunslinger” is like that except you get to play it. It’s a personal recollection of the life of longtime bounty hunter, Silas Greaves. Over the course of the game the player gets to see the differences between fact and fiction in Silas’ stories.Though his memory might be a bit exaggerated at times, there’s enough truth in there to make for an exciting Wild West shooter. Silas has spent his days hunting down famous gunman and other outlaws. His story takes a few twists and turns before it’s over and, we’ll just say, nothing about Silas is coincidental.

#8: Zaeed Massani

“Mass Effect 2” (2010) Although the bounty hunter may work for a number of different people, in the end he’s only out for himself. Zaeed Massani is the perfect example of this. He appears in the “Mass Effect 2” DLC pack “Zaeed - The Price of Revenge.” Before helping out Shepard with the mission, Zaeed informs you he’s still contending with some unfinished business. He has a bad temper and will use whatever means he can to get ahead. He wears his scars like badges and his only friends seem to be his firearms. His trust is difficult to earn, but this is one soldier you want on your side.

#7: Mace Griffin

“Mace Griffin: Bounty Hunter” (2003) Even though he sounds like a chain smoker with a cold, Mace Griffin is up for any task he’s given. He works for, the Guild ofBounty Hunters, a group that aids the police force in an effort to maintain order in the chaos-filled final frontier. Mace takes on pirates, criminals, and aliens with no hesitation. He wields an array of weaponry, including machine guns, grenade launchers, and sniper rifles. In the midst of his missions, a dark conspiracy starts to come to light and Mace takes can’t help but get involved.

#6: Taokaka

“BlazBlue” series (2008-) Taokaka doesn’t look or act like your typical bounty hunter. She’s forgetful, constantly side-tracked by her appetite, and says “meow” after every word. I guess we can forgive the last one since she’s a cat-girl and all. However she is persistent and, in a profession like bounty hunting, that is the trait that pays off. With her speed and barrage of scratches, she’s quite a tough opponent. She’s after the enormous bounty on the swordsman, Ragna. She does it all for her tribe, the Kaka. You gotta feel sorry for that tribe.

#5: Calo Nord

“Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic” (2003) When you think of the words “bounty hunter” and “Star Wars” it’s hard not to envision the Fett Family (XREF Footage). But the “galaxy far far away” is home to many space rogues:enter Calo Nord. When this guy starts counting, you do not want him to get to “three”.Calo was once a wanted man himself, but he ended up killing so many of his pursuers that, well, people stopped pursuing him. Since then he’s been the go-to hunter for rich and powerful forces in the galaxy. His short stature might be unassuming, but this is not someone you want to underestimate.

#4: Stranger

“Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath” (2005) Criminals can either be extremely dumb or extremely crafty and it takes some ingenuity on the part of the hunter to catch the latter variety. Stranger from “Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath” certainly wins the award for “most clever”. He uses “live ammo” to catch his prey. This ammunition consists of tiny mammals and insects that can stun, injure, and, literally, take a bite out of crime. Stranger can switch from his first-person view to a third-person perspective on the fly for some precision platforming and acrobatics. Stranger really goes that extra mile for his pay.

#3: John Marston

The Origin Story of John Marston + RDR1 Recap

“Red Dead Redemption” (2010) Though many bounty hunters live solitary lives, John Marston fights for his family. His wife and son are being held by corrupt government officials, and John must find and kill various outlaws to set his family free. John stands out because of his chivalrous and unusually respectful attitude towards women. While John navigates the Wild West, he pays back anyone who lends him help along the way. John’s loyalty and modesty, for a gunman of his caliber, make him a model character. But that doesn’t mean he isn’t open to a little harmless bounty hunting on the side – and by that I mean that you can take up various optional bounties throughout the game.

#2: Geralt

Also in:

Origins of Geralt of Rivia - The Witcher's White Wolf

“The Witcher” series (2007-) In order to hunt down natural and supernatural creatures, a Witcher must push his body to the absolute limits. Geralt underwent intense physical and mental training that spelled doom for many candidates before him. The trade-off is Geralt can perform his duties with superhuman finesse. What duties would those be, you may ask? Hunting monsters for coin, obviously. Or as Geralt calls it, Witcher’s work. You see, in this world, monsters are so common that monster hunting Witchers are a genuine blue collar trade. And it’s not just because of their combat skills: Geralt, like his fellow Witchers, has encyclopedic knowledge of all things monstrous – so he always knows how to find and fight whatever may be plaguing your sleepy little hamlet or filthy city. Before we turn in our number one spot, here are a few honorable mentions: Piastol “Skies of Arcadia Legends” (2003) Sol Badguy “Guilty Gear” series (1998) Jack Wade “Headhunter” (2002) The Hunters “Monster Hunter” series (2004-)

#1 Samus Aran

Also in:

Origin Story of Samus - Metroid's Leading Lady

“Metroid” series (1987-) What a surprise it was when Nintendo’s spherical robo, space-hero revealed to gamers that she was, in fact, a woman. Raised by an alien race of bird-like warriors, Samus sports a metallic, power suit that allows her to explore every nook and cranny of the galaxy. She hunts space pirates and other lethal creatures that pose a threat to humanity. Though she does have a knack for losing her powers, Samus always fights her way up from the bottom and reclaims her abilities and then some. Samus has even proved that without her power suit she is still a force to be reckoned with Do you agree with our list? Who is your favorite video game bounty hunter?
