Who knew these fashion trends would make a comeback? For this list, we're looking sartorial trends of decades past that we really didn't expect to see again on the runways or in the real world. We've included trends like overalls, mini backpacks, denim-on-denim and more!

#10: Overalls

This is one of those cringe worthy trends of the '80s and early '90s that we really didn't think could possibly be fashionable again. Even in 1995’s “Clueless”, Tai wears overalls before her big makeover. You may have thought this garment would be relegated to cartoon farmers for the rest of fashion history, but as of 2016, overalls were showing up on runways and on the hottest celebs.

#9: Mini Backpacks

Another '90s trend that we’re glad is back in style is the miniature backpack – and we’re not talking about ones made with children in mind. Handbag fashion can change drastically season to season, but it seems that toting your belongings on your back instead of your shoulder is the way to go especially if you’re on the move. The problem is, this isn't the kind of knapsack that could fit your laptop and some books. This trending version is getting smaller and smaller to the point that you have to wonder how functional it actually is.

#8: Denim-on-Denim

It was considered a travesty even when Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake wore coordinated all-denim ensembles to the 2001 American Music Awards, but the Canadian tuxedo has made a comeback and we hope is here to stay. We never sat this trend coming back but celebs like Gweynth Paltrow, Gigi Hadid and Rihanna make it look so chic! You can be creative with different fabric and washes if you want to give this trend a go.

#7: Logo Tees

Emblazoning the brand you’re wearing across your chest seems like the kind of showy move that screams nouveau riche, but hey some people just need you to know who designed their clothes - and how much money they spent on them. This trend was revived on the runway, but has been embraced by the model-off-duty set and has featured heavily in recent street style photography. People are giving the look a more high fashion edge rather than simply throwing the shirts on with jeans. If you’re cool with acting as a walking advertisement for your favorite brand, then all the power to you.

#6: Flared Pants

When the world had finally reached peak skinny jean, it was inevitable that trendmakers would look to the past to figure out the next big thing. Flared pants had their heyday in the '70s, but then made a revival in the early aughts before the skinny jean trend took over. Now, people are rocking this retro look all over again, and if styled correctly it can definitely look chic. If you want to avoid looking like you’re wearing a hippie costume, it’s key to pair your flares with some more modern pieces for a contemporary look. …

#5: Track Pants

Do you remember how cool you felt wearing those Adidas joggers with the stripes down the side? Well you can get that feeling back because track pants have seen a serious revival. In fact, the very same pants you wore in high school wouldn’t look out of place on a high fashion runway. You have to already have pretty impeccable personal style to make this trend work without looking like you’re on your way to some sort of retro workout class. Now we’ll just have to see if snap pants make a comeback too...

#4: Crop Tops

This trend has been back for a few years now and it is showing no sign of waning anytime soon. Like many other trends on this list, crops tops reached their peak of popularity in the '90s, which at the time felt like a pretty daring fashion choice. These shirts got even tinier for their revival though, sometimes resembling something more like a bralette than an actual top. It’s a trend that can actually be pretty wearable if you pair it with high-waisted shorts or pants, leaving only a couple of inches of bare midriff exposed.

#3: Chokers

While this trend may be associated with the mid '90s, people have actually been wearing choker style necklaces for much of history. They’ve gone through a variety of different iterations over the centuries, but the latest revival is most akin to the trend of the late 1900s. We hope you held on to your plastic tattoo chokers from the '90s, because they are 100 percent cool again. Another alternative is the thin leather strap version, which can be easily DIYed at home - or purchased at just about any high street store.

#2: High-Waisted Denim

In the '90s and early 2000s, waistbands on jeans seemed to sink lower and lower to the point that it became borderline obscene. Celebs like Paris Hilton were rocking low-slung denim and inspired the masses to do the same. As the years have gone by though, styles have gotten progressively higher again, and people realized that not only were high-waisted pants more comfortable but they were actually pretty flattering too. This trend has been back for so long that it’s hard to imagine it disappearing again anytime soon because we are really not eager to turn back to the ultra low-waisted alternative. Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions. Lingerie as Outerwear Off-the-Shoulder Flatform Sandals

#1: Sneakers

Shoe trends come and go, but this is one that we really didn’t expect to see make a return. Of course, everyone needs a pair of running shoes to wear to the gym, but we couldn’t have predicted that they could also be an addition to a high fashion outfit. No one’s complaining, because it sure is more comfortable to trek around in sneakers than heels! Top designers have started producing trainers marketed toward a high-end clientele and there has been a clear trickle down effect to the point where everyone is coveting the latest cool running shoe. Enjoy this trend while it lasts!
