From mysterious wolf encounters to questionable legal battles, we're uncovering the mysteries that have long puzzled movie enthusiasts! Our countdown includes mind-bending questions from "Shrek", "Bee Movie", "The Bad Guys", "Madagascar", and other beloved DreamWorks classics that will make you look at these films in a whole new light!

#10: How Did the Big Bad Wolf Get To Fiona’s Tower?

“Shrek 2” (2004)

When Prince Charming makes a harrowing journey to the Dragon’s Keep in hopes of rescuing Fiona, he’s shocked to discover that in her bed is actually the Big Bad Wolf. It’s a pretty funny scene, but you’ve got to wonder how that wolf got all the way here. In the first movie, the bridge that would normally be used for this was destroyed. Sure, Charming got here through a zipline but we doubt the wolf is as agile as the prince. Maybe the Big Bad Wolf is secretly a teleporter. Jokes aside, it seems like he really hit the jackpot with this place. Let’s just hope he doesn’t get kicked out!

#9: What’s Going to Happen to El Dorado & Its People?

“The Road to El Dorado” (2000)

At the end of this movie, two con-artists, Miguel and Tulio, successfully block off the entrance to El Dorado to prevent its destruction at the hands of the evil Hernán Cortés. The selfless act saves the town. However, if you think about it, destroying the main entry effectively boxes all of the citizens in. Can they ever leave El Dorado or are they permanently stuck there? What’s life going to look like now if they can’t leave? And how do you handle the fact that an angry conquistador could have destroyed your whole city? Don’t get us wrong, this movie ended on a super high note, but we can’t help but wonder how things will pan out for the future of its citizens.

#8: Could Adults Have the Power to Believe?

“Rise of the Guardians” (2012)

Something that’s made very clear throughout “Guardians” is that belief is incredibly important. Children being able to believe in the existence of the Guardians is what gives them their power. But the movie kind of makes it seem like only children are able to do this. They don’t really focus on if any adults can too. It’s like this universe automatically considers adults non-believers. Sorry, but that’s some weak sauce. Sure, reality has a way of sobering us up the older we get, but that shouldn’t outright destroy our sense of imagination! What if an adult believed in Jack Frost, or the Easter Rabbit, or the Tooth Fairy? Would that extra belief help the Guardians or would it be useless? These are the important questions!

#7: Why Do They Forgive Oscar So Easily?

“Shark Tale” (2004)

Oscar really isn’t that great. He’s a manipulative fish who lies about killing a mob shark named Frankie and tricks others into thinking that he’s better than he actually is. That lie actually has serious ripple effects that end up harming his relationships with those he’s close with, like Angie. But then at the end he makes peace with who he wronged and everything is now sunshines and rainbows. Except should it really be that way? We’re not saying Oscar can’t get that happily ever after when he learns the errors of his ways, but true redemption can take a while. Why do all of the fish that Oscar scammed forgive him right away? It just seems a bit too convenient if you ask us.

#6: How Come Puss Didn’t Want to Wish for Immortality?

“Puss in Boots: The Last Wish” (2022)

With Death knocking on his door, Puss was out of options. Eight of his nine lives had all seemingly run out. That meant that this desperate feline’s plan of action was to find the Wishing Star so that he could wish for nine more lives. It’s definitely not a bad plan or anything, but if we’re going to nitpick, why didn’t he want to wish for immortality? Think about it, if you know your clock is ticking and there’s a macguffin that can grant any wish, why not wish for that? Either way though, Puss averted disaster by learning about the true value of life, and in the end he successfully thwarted Death. So we guess we can’t really complain too much.

#5: Why Ship the Penguins to Kenya?

“Madagascar” (2005)

As the Central Park Zoo animals are being prepared to get shipped off to Kenya in crates, one of these crates can be seen with the penguins in them. We’re not zoo experts or anything but Kenya feels like an odd choice for where to send penguins. Skipper even says that! Why couldn’t they have shipped them off somewhere like Antarctica? Heck, that’s where the penguins want to go, and they try to reroute themselves there anyways before eventually going to Madagascar. A colder climate just feels more appropriate. Even though African penguins do exist, this really doesn’t seem like a place that these particular penguins would thrive in. At the very least it’d definitely take some getting used to!

#4: Did the Animals Really Change Anything?

“Over the Hedge” (2006)

The woodland animals that this movie centers around successfully defeat Gladys Sharp, the evil president of the homeowners’ association, to save themselves. With the threat of extermination gone, all seems happy as the day is saved, but is it actually saved? Earlier in the movie the woodland animals found out that a lot of the forest they lived in was already torn down. In fact, it was converted into housing units. So if development has already been happening here, what’s actually going to stop them from continuing their plans? Is getting rid of the HOA’s president really enough? We don’t want to be downers, but the animals should definitely be prepared in case the HOA ever strikes back.

#3: Where Did Fiona Learn Martial Arts?

“Shrek” (2001)

The “Shrek” franchise is a beloved yet weird one that leaves you with plenty of questions. Like how did Donkey have kids with a giant dragon? We’ll focus on a less mind-melting concern right now though. Like how is Fiona so skilled in combat? When Shrek and Fiona are bombarded by Robin Hood and his Merry Men, she springs into action right away. She’s so good at this that it leaves both Donkey and Shrek in awe. But didn’t she spend almost her whole life stuck in a tower? How'd she get so good at fighting? To Fiona’s credit, she actually gives somewhat of an answer, but it still doesn’t explain everything. Guess she must’ve been taught by the school of plot convenience!

#2: Why Didn’t Mr. Snake Destroy the Helmet When He Had the Chance?

“The Bad Guys” (2022)

In a universe that humans and highly intelligent talkings animals share, there’s bound to be convoluted plot threads. For example, there’s friction between humans and animals, but the movie never tells us how that came about. There’s also a question that’s a little more glaringly obvious, and it relates to Mr. Snake. He’s working with Professor Marmalade, who wants to use a meteorite-charged helmet to mind-control guinea pigs into stealing charity money. But he actually becomes good and betrays Marmalade later. If that sounds like a lot, it is. But, there’s several moments when Snake actually has the helmet. So why didn’t he just destroy it then? It would’ve immediately stopped Marmalade! Someone needs to teach him how to take opportunities when he sees them!

#1: Does the Lawsuit Really Hold Up?

“Bee Movie” (2007)

Barry B. Benson’s entire world flips upside down when he meets humans for the first time. And once he does, it isn’t long before he discovers a ton of problems with how things currently are. Disappointed with humanity’s exploitation of honey for profit, Barry decides to sue mankind. But this sort of flies in the face of rule number one of Bee Law: don’t talk to humans. So shouldn’t filing a lawsuit against humanity and appearing in court against them complicate that? We’re not lawyers but it seems like Barry’s lawsuit runs into a bit of a grey area within Bee law. He’d be doing nothing but talking with humans and thereby outing themselves. It seems like Bee law needs to bee better defined!
