Did you know these things about Millie Bobby Brown?! This young actor already has a pretty promising career starring in Netflix's “Stranger Things” and “Godzilla: King of the Monsters”, but for this list, we're looking at some fun facts about this up and coming performer that you probably didn't know. From setting records, to Stephen King noticing her before she was famous, join MsMojo as we count down our picks for the Top 10 Things You Didn't Know About Millie Bobby Brown!

#10: She Has Set Some Records

Because she got her start at such a young age, Millie Bobby Brown has managed to swoop in and easily set some new records in the industry. In April of 2018, Time Magazine named her one of their “Time 100”, making her to be the youngest ever to be included in this round up of the world’s most influential people. Later that year, she also became the youngest person to become a UNICEF goodwill ambassador! At age 13, she wasn’t the youngest person to receive an Emmy nod for her role on “Stranger Things”, but she’s pretty darn close!

#9: She May Be a Flat Earther??

While in many ways, this young actor may seem mature beyond her years, it’s important to remember that she’s still just a kid. In a live stream video that she posted on social media, she reveals that she finds a lot of the theories about the Earth being flat to be compelling, even declaring herself to possibly be a “flat earther”. We’re going to cut her some slack because we all believed some crazy things at her age. Considering how much influence she has over the younger generation, let’s keep our fingers crossed that she doesn’t amass a following on this one though, ok?

#8: Her Role as Eleven Was Based On E.T.

From the moment “Stranger Things” was initially released, much of the commentary about it revolved around the inspiration it took from classic ‘80s movies. Chief among them had to be Steven Spielberg’s classic, “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial”. Fans of the film will definitely see plenty of references to it in the Netflix show, from the bike riding scenes to the outfit that Eleven gets dressed up in during season one. Millie Bobby Brown reportedly took inspiration from the sci-fi alien when molding her own role. She was also given “homework” by the Duffer brothers to watch certain movies in order to prepare for the part.

#7: She Loves the Kardashians

Just because Millie Bobby Brown is famous in her own right, doesn’t mean she can’t get starstruck. In fact, just like many other teens her age, she’s pretty obsessed with the Kardashians. She had some funny Twitter banter with some members of the family after declaring “Honestly, all I want is for Kourtney K to shake my salad” in reference to the giant salads the sisters always seem to be eating on the show. Kim responded that she could help make this happen. In March of 2018, Brown finally got to meet one of her idols and of course, posted pics of the experience.

#6: “Stranger Things” Wasn’t Her First Role

While Millie Bobby Brown’s part as Eleven on “Stranger Things” was undoubtedly her breakout role, it’s actually a misconception that she hadn’t done any acting before landing it. She actually had appeared on two pretty major TV shows before landing the gig. She made one-episode appearances on both “Modern Family” and “Grey’s Anatomy” in the years before “Stranger Things” was released. Not only that, she also had a muti-episode part on “Intruders”, another sci-fi program that led perfectly into the role that made her famous and gave her some practice with the genre.

#5: Her First Kiss Was on Set

While “Stranger Things” may not have been Brown’s first role, it was still part of a big first in her life! In the final episode of the show’s first season, Mike and Eleven share an adorable youthful kiss after a season of subtle puppy love buildup. This was Millie’s first on screen kiss, but not only that, it was her first kiss ever! It’s not exactly surprising when you consider how young the actress was when they filmed the scene. Let’s just say we’re happy we didn’t have to deal with this coming-of-age moment in front of as many viewers as she did!

#4: Stephen King Noticed Her Before She Was Famous

We mentioned that Brown did some acting work before her big break, and while most people may not have noticed her back then, someone pretty important did. King of horror, Stephen King, watched her acting in “Intruders” and took to Twitter to share his thoughts on her performance. King tweeted on September 28th, 2014, “Millie Brown, the girl in INTRUDERS, is terrific. Is it my imagination, or are child actors a lot better than they used to be?” Many of Stephen King’s works acted as inspiration to the Duffer Brothers, so perhaps they took his opinion to heart when it came to casting too!

#3: She Learned to Speak Like an American from The Disney Channel

You wouldn’t know it from watching her “Stranger Things” performance, but Millie Bobby Brown actually isn’t American, and in real life has a British accent! Her parents are British, but she was born in Spain, eventually moving to the United States when she was around eight years old. While she was a kid though, she spent plenty of time doing what many kids do: watching the Disney Channel! She credits this with her ability to speak with an American accent for her roles. So maybe watching TV isn’t a total waste of time!

#2: She Can Sing!

If you’ve seen “Stranger Things”, you know that Millie Bobby Brown is a pretty phenomenal young actress, but it turns out that her skillset extends beyond just acting. She also has an incredible set of pipes, and can sing almost as well as she can act! Not only that, but Millie has proven on several occasions that she can even rap, performing bits like Nikki Minaj’s verse from “Monster” during a game on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”. Seriously, what can’t she do? Who knows, maybe we’ll see her releasing a debut album when she’s in between seasons of her hit show.

Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.

She’s Friends with Maddie Ziegler

She’s Afraid of Sharks

She’s Really Into Boxing

Eleven’s Lack of Dialogue Was a Challenge

She's Deaf in One Ear

#1: Shaving Her Head for “Stranger Things” Was a BIG Deal

Eleven’s shaved head on “Stranger Things” is part of what makes the character who she is, but somehow Millie Bobby Brown didn’t know until the last minute that she’d actually have to chop off her brown locks to play the part. There’s video evidence of it taking place, and it’s clear that she’s nervous, but she was clearly dedicated to her craft because she stood her ground even when her mom objected to her changing her appearance in such a significant way. She shared with SciFiNow that she told her mom, “let’s just cut it off, it grows back, it’s not permanent”. And in the end, it seems pretty clear it was worth it!
