Fik-Shun Stegall was the 18-year-old male winner of season ten who came from a predominantly hip-hop dance background. Since winning the crown in 2013, Stegall has dabbled in film and television. In 2015 he presented at the Reality Television Awards and appeared in an episode of the TV series “Making Moves” the following year. He then had a very productive 2017. He appeared as a contestant on NBC’s “World of Dance” and played Brandon in the teen dance movie “All Styles”, while appearing as an All-Star in the fourteenth season of “So You Think You Can Dance?” We can’t wait to see what he gets up to next.

Lauren Froderman wowed the judges and took the crown over Kent Boyd in the show’s seventh season, and it did wonders for her career. After appearing on the show, she went to school at California’s Loyola Marymount University and graduated in 2015. She has also sporadically appeared as an All-Star throughout the show’s succeeding seasons, and she made an uncredited appearance in “Glee” as a member of Aural Intensity in the episode Original Song. She has since appeared in various short and TV movies and currently works full time as a professional dancer in Los Angeles.

Sabra Johnson is one of the show’s earliest champions, as she beat out Danny Tidwell, Neil Haskell, and Lacey Schwimmer to become the winner of season three way back in 2007. Since her appearance on the show, Johnson has focused on teaching and charity event appearances that have taken her around the world, including Iceland and South Africa. She was also a member of New York City’s Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet company. As of 2017, Johnson is a faculty member at Vietnam’s Dancenter and is directing an interactive dance show titled “Between Us.”

Eliana Girard was the female winner of season nine, and she has since continued a career in front of the cameras. In 2013 she appeared as Katarina in an episode of “Bones.” She also toured with Taylor Swift during her Red Tour, which spanned from March 2013 to June 2014, and has appeared in some of her music videos. She has also performed at many notable events, including the VMAs, the Billboard Music Awards, and the Grammys. She now spends her time mentoring and has taught alongside numerous “So You Think You Can Dance?” contestants at the Dancing Dream Tour, a convention that teaches children how to dance.

Contemporary dancer Ricky Ubeda beat out tap dancer Valerie Rockey to become the winner of season eleven. As a reward for his accomplishment, Ubeda was offered a role in the Broadway revival of “On the Town,” a musical about sailors on shore leave during World War II. The 2014 revival was eventually nominated for four Tony Awards, including Best Choreography and Best Revival. In 2016, Ubeda secured the role of the magical tuxedo tom Mr. Mistoffelees in the Broadway revival of “Cats.” Yeah, we think he’s doing alright for himself!

Benji Schwimmer was crowned the winner of season two back in 2006 and has since made quite the career for himself. Immediately after winning, Schwimmer appeared in the music video for Christina Aguilera’s “Candyman” and was crowned World Swing Champion in 2008. He was then hired as the creative director for Paula Abdul’s final performance on “American Idol” and choreographed a routine for figure skater Jeremy Abbott for the 2011 Grand Prix of Figure Skating. He continues to compete in the US Swing Dance Championships and has recently earned a personal win by coming out as gay after years of struggling with his Mormon upbringing.

Amy Yakima was the female winner of season ten, the same year that Fik-Shun won the male category. And, like Fik-Shun, she has put her win and reputation to good use. After winning the competition, Yakima toured with the Shaping Sound dance company and performed in famous YouTube musician Lindsey Stirling’s world tour. She has since taught at various institutions, including Velocity Dance Convention and West Coast Dance Convention, and appeared as Peter Pan in the 2015 Broadway run of “Finding Neverland,” replacing fellow “So You Think You Can Dance?” winner Melanie Moore.

Nick Lazzarini was the show’s very first winner back in 2005, beating out Melody Lacayanga. In March of 2006, barely six months after his October win, Nick became one of fifteen founding members of the Evolution Dance Company. In 2011, Lazzarini, alongside Travis Wall, Teddy Forance, and Kyle Robinson, starred in the docuseries “All the Right Moves,” which followed the men’s creation of their dance company Shaping Sound. He is currently touring with Shaping Sound and focusing on his teaching career with the JUMP Dance Convention.

Melanie Moore was the overwhelming winner of the show’s eighth season. Like Amy Yakima, she was a member of the Shaping Sound dance company, and she also appeared as a NYADA dance pupil in an episode of “Glee.” She then secured the role of Peter Pan in “Finding Neverland” on Broadway, starring alongside “Glee’s” Matthew Morrison. She then left to perform in the revival of “Fiddler on the Roof” and has recently starred as Ermengarde in the Tony award-winning Broadway revival of “Hello, Dolly!” Now that’s how you make a career out of a dance competition.

Jeanine Mason was the winner of the show’s fifth season, and is arguably its most successful competitor in terms of public awareness. After winning “So You Think You Can Dance?,” Mason primarily focused on her acting career and appeared in various shows, including “CSI,” “Big Time Rush,” and seven episodes of “Bunheads.” She then graduated cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles and has recently appeared in a recurring role as Dr. Sam Bello in “Grey’s Anatomy.” While she has seemingly put her dancing career on the back burner, she is still more than reaping the rewards of her win.
