The ninth season of “Walking Dead” saw Rick Grimes set off a risky explosion to save his family. After he barely survived this event, it was announced that his story would continue in a movie trilogy. However, 2022’s Comic Con revealed that Rick will actually make a grand return on television screens. He’lll be joined by fan favorite Michonne on a brand new spin-off series. The last time she was seen on the main show, she left her home to find her romantic and zombie-killing partner Rick. Seeing them fight to reunite should make for a compelling and satisfying journey. While we were looking forward to seeing “The Walking Dead” in theaters, this surprising announcement means that we’ll get even more time with Rick Grimes.

After around a decade of behind-the-scenes legal battles and numerous cast changes, the “Dungeons & Dragons” reboot is finally arriving in 2023. Instead of treating the film like a completely heavy fantasy drama, this iteration is taking a more breezy approach. Chris Pine will play a bard and a thief that leads a quirky crew on a quest to save the world. Throughout the first trailer, he and his crew members crack jokes and snark at each other. The humor is also accompanied by classic “Dungeons & Dragons” imagery and awe-inspiring action. By the end of the trailer, we started to feel like this fun adventure might just steal our attention when it debuts.

In 2022, fans and critics fell in love with the live-action adventures of Captain Pike and his crew during their fresh new series. Their program debuted two years after the animated “Lower Decks” started making fun of the serious and ridiculous aspects of the “Star Trek” franchise. Writers stunned fans of both the animated and live-action shows by announcing the two worlds will collide. During season 2 of “Strange New Worlds”, Tawny Newsome’s Beckett Mariner and Jack Quaid’s Brad Boimler will bring their humor and expertise to Pike’s crew. It’s unclear what cosmic event is responsible for getting all these characters together. But no matter what the reason, their collaboration will make for a hilarious “Strange New Worlds” episode.

Upon getting free from a long imprisonment, Morpheus, the king of dreams, embarks on an adventure to ensure that humans won’t have to face an unending nightmare. While early footage focused on the characters, the Comic-Con trailer for the series showed more of the fantasy world. The preview is full of gorgeous wide shots and imagery that looks like it was ripped right out of the pages of a comic book. There’s also hints that Morpehus will travel from the kingdom in the dreaming all the way down to depths of hell. Thanks to impressive CGI work, every frame of the trailer looks like a work of art. “Sandman’s” unique and breathtaking visuals let audiences know that they shouldn't sleep on this show.

Marvel’s most famous green lawyer surprised us when she fully broke the fourth wall in the Comic-con trailer. But that’s not the only exciting creative choice fans have to look forward to. During the preview, it was revealed that Sorcerer Supreme Wong will make a full appearance in “She-Hulk’s” series. Since Abomination will appear in the series as well, the show might explore how the villain met the magic man before they went to the fight club in “Shang-Chi”. The second exciting character teased in “She-Hulk’s” trailer was Marvel superhero/lawyer Daredevil. Honestly, we’re amazed he has the time to hang out with the jade heroine. It was recently announced that he’ll also appear in an animated Spider-man show and his own 18 episode series.
#5: Avatar Aang Will Return For a New Movie

Over the course of three critically-acclaimed seasons, audiences watched a boy named Aang learn how to command four elements so he could stop a war. Although his show ended in 2008, comics and sequel series “Legend of Korra” showed us that he had more thrilling adventures. Fans will get to see at least one of these mind bending tales in the future. According to representatives from Avatar Studios, Aang and his friends will appear in a full length film. The movie could adapt an existing story or branch out into a plot we’ve never seen before. Either way, we can’t wait to see this avatar return.
#4: Electrifying Details About “Shazam! Fury of the Gods”
Although DC announced the second live-action Shazam outing a while ago, the plot’s been mostly a mystery. A Comic-con trailer used lots of humor and a dragon to show us what the heroes will be up against. At the end of the first film, Billy Batson AKA, Shazam learned how to give his siblings magical powers. Together, they all saved the day. The sequel will see powerful villains Kalypso and Hespera try to bring the heroes down for casually using magical abilities for themselves. Outside of the villains, we’ll also see Rachel Zegler’s Anthea join the battle between good and evil. It’ll be fun to see how these exciting new elements of the DCEU clash blend with established characters in this magical sequel.

While we’re excited to see MCU anti-heroes team up in 2024’s“Thunderbolts movie”, a couple of even bigger crossovers will debut a year later. In May 2025, “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” will premiere six months before “Avengers: Secret Wars”. This pair of announcements means that either or both of these films might break the record for most superheroes in a movie. In the comics, a “secret Wars” arc saw characters from countless Marvel universes living and fighting in one world. The MCU’s Kang coincidentally has started wars with versions of himself from other worlds before. Will this villain kick off the conflict or is someone else to blame? And most importantly, can the Avengers triumph over evil in two epic adventures in 2025?

It only took a minute long preview for us to get hyped up for this highly anticipated Keanu Reeves sequel. In the third film, John Wick was left severely injured and nearly broken thanks to an assassination oganization known as the high table. So, we didn’t expect him to look so ready to shoot and fight again in a new Comic-Con trailer. The brief glimpse we got promised everything from sword fights to more car chases. And although we already knew he was out for revenge, the motivations of the new characters we see are still a mystery. By saying less and focusing on action, the trailer really drew the audience in. “John Wick’s” fourth outing may just become the best entry of the franchise.

As a cover of “No Woman, No Cry” slowly fades up for this sequel trailer, we see characters grieve the loss of Chadwick Boseman and his portrayal of T’Challa. But the emotional trailer doesn’t just pay tribute to the actor. During the preview, audiences got gorgeous glimpses at Namor, his underwater society and his people. For some unknown reason, they’ll be fighting a war against Wakanda. This heavy plotline includes hopeful shots of the young heroine Ironheart and the surprising debut of a new Black Panther. This sequel will unquestionably be an emotional roller coaster for everyone in the audience. But this beautiful and well-composed trailer made us feel like we’re all going to be alright.
