Still, Sheldon persists, turning to infrared technology, uranium, and federal crimes to uncover the secret, which naturally backfires. But, a magician never reveals his tricks, well at least not to Sheldon. Eventually, the audience is clued in on the joke making the whole ordeal even funnier. And watching Sheldon storm off in a huff is especially amusing. Do you think he ever figured it out? We doubt it.

“The Imitation Perturbation” Trick or treat! Well, the tricks are on Sheldon while we reap in the treats. Howard can be especially savage when it comes to practical jokes; remember that time he turned the tables on Sheldon’s buzzer prank? However, arguably his best moment was dressing up as Sheldon for the spooky holiday in the final season. What makes it even funnier is how long it takes Sheldon to catch onto the joke. Unfortunately, he’s not as amused as the rest of us and gives Howard a taste of his own medicine with Amy by his side. Watching the fake Wolowitz-Rostenkowskis exchange barbed words with their real-life counterparts never fails to crack us up.

The pair drive out to launch a model rocket, but things don’t go as planned. Sheldon sweetly tries to put a positive spin on the explosion, but when that doesn’t work, he tries some tough love instead. On their way home, Sheldon takes the wheel, leading to a touching exchange between the friends. Howard gently encourages his buddy while Sheldon tells him his son will be lucky to have him as a dad. It’s truly heartwarming. Too bad it doesn’t last long!

Sure, their friendship hits a bump or several over the years, but underneath it all, there’s clearly a lot of love between them.

He has Sheldon doing his laundry and cleaning his belt buckles, plus we won't forget that French maid's outfit in a hurry. His final task is to pay Howard a compliment, which he does, backhandedly. It's not until his moving Nobel Prize speech in the series finale that he finally genuinely acknowledges Howard's achievements. But that was still a few seasons away.
