#10: Emily Cooper & Gabriel

“Emily in Paris” (2020-)

You can’t live with them, can’t live without them. Emily and Gabriel orbit around each other. Sometimes, they’re so close, it feels like there’s no one else in their worlds. Then again, they pull away like they’re never going to see each other again. Whenever one is about to get away, the other rushes to maintain the status quo. Not only is this terribly toxic, but their on-and-off partners, Alfie and Camille, suffer collateral damage, too. That said, when the stars do align, albeit rarely, their chemistry explodes like fireworks. Their kisses are breathtaking, and when they’re in each other’s arms, nothing else matters. Maybe that’s why they just can’t let this love go.

#9: Wednesday Addams & Tyler Galpin

“Wednesday” (2022-)

It broke our hearts into a million pieces to see our woeful heroine actually fall in love, only to be manipulated. Tyler charms his way into Wednesday’s life, appears to accept her for who she is, and brings her guard down. He adores her idiosyncrasies and knows how to love her in the way she wants to be loved. In her eyes, he has nothing to gain from being kind to her, and that allows her to be vulnerable. When they look into each other’s eyes, and he makes her smile in between kisses, you can’t help but swoon. So, when actor Hunter Doohan, who plays Tyler, admitted that his character never really loved Wednesday, it was devastating, to say the least.

#8: Nina Zenik & Matthias Helvar

“Shadow and Bone” (2021-23)

Enemies to star-crossed lovers is a trope that never gets old. Nina and Matthias cross paths in the worst of ways. She’s a Grisha, the “Shadow and Bone” equivalent of a magic wielder, and he’s a Drüskelle, or a witch-hunter. When a shipwreck leaves them stranded they are forced to rely on each other for survival. And gradually the adversity begins to soften their feelings towards each other. It is a treat to watch these characters, who were otherwise set in their ways, fight their prejudices to give love a chance. The tension between them, the yearning, and the unconditional nature of their affections culminate to give us an unforgettable romance that overcomes apparent betrayal and the twists of fate. Although they deserved a happier ending, their love was incredibly precious while it lasted.

#7: Nick Nelson & Charlie Spring

“Heartstopper” (2022-)

This is the type of rom-com that makes you fall in love with love. “Heartstopper” served coming-of-age romance like no other, with Nick and Charlie stealing our hearts from the get-go. The show’s sensitive, respectful, and dreamy depiction of a queer relationship hits just the right spots. Charlie is smitten with Nick at first sight, while the latter takes some time to figure out his feelings. So, a deep friendship precedes their romance, which only strengthens their relationship when they get together. Puppy love gives way to a more mature bond, and we see our OTP navigate the complexities of life hand-in-hand. Their chemistry is as evident in their heart-stopping kisses as it is in their emotional connection, and that is just too wholesome.

#6: Queen Elizabeth II & Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh

“The Crown” (2016-23)

Chemistry is served up on a royal platter in this period piece. Princess Elizabeth and Philip Mountbatten, before the former became the Queen of England and the latter her consort, were carefree lovebirds. However, when Elizabeth must take up the crown, years before the couple anticipated it, it turns their world upside down. With the nation watching, their marriage is put through trials and tribulations of all sorts. Power struggles amplify the tension between them, which often translates to a sizzling dynamic, even if it isn’t always sensual or even amicable. Nevertheless, they spend their lives with each other, a privilege that Princess Margaret and Peter Townsend were not afforded despite their electrifying romance, and yes, we’re still bitter about it.

#5: John B. Routledge & Sarah Cameron

“Outer Banks” (2020-)

The classic rich girl, poor guy cliché may be overrated, but it's popular for a reason. John B. and Sarah Cameron come from different worlds. He’s as ordinary as it gets, a.k.a. a Pogue, and she’s a posh princess, or a Kook. However, Cupid didn’t plan on checking their finances before making them fall in love. As they rise above their misconceptions through dire circumstances and daring escapades, it becomes exceedingly clear that they’re more similar than they first thought. John B. and Sarah become safe spaces to each other and grow together. However, perhaps the best thing about their relationship is how the spark between them is just as vivid when we last see them as it was when they first met.

#4: Nomi Marks & Amanita Caplan

“Sense8” (2015-18)

An empowering queer relationship between a trans woman and her girlfriend isn’t easy to come by in mainstram media. So, when Nomi and Neets showed up on our screens with their fierce love story, they left a deep impression. These two were the embodiment of passion and dedication. Neets upends her life for her lover, and Nomi protects her like she is the world. They go to the ends of the earth for each other and showcase tremendous commitment amid life-altering events. Nomi’s link to the other sensates may have been telepathic, but her connection with Amanita is much stronger. They are soulmates, after all.

#3: Joe Goldberg & Love Quinn

“You” (2018-)

In a sea of perfect TV couples, a match made in hell can be rather refreshing. Joe and Love are two of a kind – psychopathic killers with a penchant for seduction. However, Joe’s not too fond of getting played. So, instead of being the perfect partners-in-crime, they fall into a vortex of obsession and betrayal. Love seeks complete possession of Joe, and he wants nothing more than to assert his dominance. This results in a burning rivalry that consumes everything in its wake, but that’s what makes their chemistry even more addictive. Victoria Pedretti is clearly a master of such tragedies, like her character Dani’s heart-wrenching romance with Jamie in “The Haunting of Bly Manor”. Let’s hope she gets a happy ending next time!

#2: Joanne & Noah Roklov

“Nobody Wants This” (2024-)

First things first, who doesn’t want what they have? Joanne and Noah ooze chemistry from the moment their eyes meet. They’re immediately drawn to each other and steadily build a relationship on the foundation of trust and mutual respect. Despite their cultural and religious differences, these two make conscious choices to be in each other’s lives, even if that means stepping outside their comfort zones. They’re determined to make it work and exhibit major green flag behavior. So, even without rose-colored glasses, this couple looks picture-perfect. This realism, in turn, makes their intimate scenes even more impactful, imbuing their dreamlike kisses with conviction.

#1: Anthony Bridgerton & Kate Sharma

“Bridgerton” (2020-)

This Regency-era romance ate and left no crumbs. Anthony and Kate click instantly after spontaneously racing each other on horseback at first sight. However, they’re set in opposition

when she overhears his cynical opinions on romance. Even with that rough start, and Anthony’s eventual courtship of Kate’s sister Edwina, the pair can’t squash their attraction. Their forbidden liaison is so irresistible that it looks like they invented pining, most of which they express with their eyes alone. Sure, Daphne and Simon had their fair share of longing. Penelope and Colin quietly ached for each other, too. However, what Anthony and Kate have is pure magic. Every breath they take near each other is charged with desire, and every touch fuels the fire of their love. How are we supposed to ever get over them?
