These "Bridgerton" fashion moments make us wish it was the regency era. For this list, we'll be looking at memorable wardrobe statements made by the stylish characters of seasons 1 and 2 of the period drama. Our countdown includes Kate's purple dress, Penelope's floral frock, Edwina's pastel gown, and more!

#10: Queen Charlotte's Maroon & Teal Ensemble

When Queen Charlotte graces our screens, you can surely expect her to serve extravagance. Subtlety is not in her majesty’s vocabulary. And for the season 1 finale, she delivered one of her most over-the-top fashion statements yet. While the Queen couldn’t take her eyes off Daphne and Simon dancing at the season-ending ball, we couldn’t help but stare in awe at her maroon and teal gown with gold lace sleeves. The dress itself is a moment, not to mention the towering wig sitting atop her head, which of course included birdcages for added drama. This look capped off a season of extraordinary royal ensembles, leaving viewers eager to see what else the Queen had in her closet for season 2.

#9: Kate’s Purple Dress

Spending a day with the Bridgertons at Aubrey Hall means dressing to impress. Kate did just that when she showed up for a game of pall-mall wearing a pristine purple dress with added details on the skirt. Even when things took a messy turn, with Kate having to fetch her ball from a pit of mud, she still managed to pull off the look. Although we loved the muddy moment, viewers were given another chance to feast their eyes on Kate in purple later in the season. For her little sister’s wedding, Kate walked down the aisle in a very similar lavender maid of honor dress. But this time, the gown's skirt remained mud-free.

#8: Penelope’s Floral Frock

Ever the maximalist, Penelope lives up to her Featherington name with eccentric looks both in
the ballroom and during the daytime. While out for a stroll, she is shown wearing an elaborate yellow dress with colorful floral threadwork. To spice up her already loud and vibrant outfit, Penelope paired the garment with several eye-catching accessories. A yellow silk shawl, a matching feather headpiece, and pink polka dot gloves prove that the Featherington is not a believer of less is more. This look would have stood out amongst any crowd, but it especially popped next to the more subdued, pale-colored ensemble of Penelope’s Bridgerton bestie, Eloise, who walked alongside her.

#7: Edwina’s Pastel Gown
“Capital R Rake”

The premiere episode of season 2 introduced us to the soft and sweet attire of future “diamond”, Edwina. In the presence of Queen Charlotte at the Danbury Conservatory Ball, Edwina donned a sparkling pastel gown that perfectly embodied her darling persona. Accompanied by her sister Kate, who wore a complimentary sparkling dress in a light blue shade, Edwina made her mark in the first of many delicate gowns to come. Several episodes later, at the diamond of the season’s wedding, Edwina stunned the ton in a bridal dress of the same style. With cap sleeves and silk white gloves, the fashionable wedding moment was reminiscent of the young Sharma’s standout debut.

#6: Queen Charlotte’s Purple Wig

As expected, Queen Charlotte continued to opt for bold color combinations in season 2. However, she upped her game when appearing at Lady Danbury’s opening ball. With only her own fashion rules to follow, the Queen paired a bright green ball gown with a deep purple headpiece. The wig’s color alone was a statement, though the tiara and pinned jewels brought the look to a whole new level of ornate. One of her more out-there moments, this attire reminded us of the Queen’s yellow taffeta gown from season 1, and was a precursor to a monochrome blue ensemble worn in the season 2 episode that followed the premiere. As outlandish as some of her outfits may be, we are here for the royal’s consistent uniqueness and creativity.

#5: Kate in Orange
“The Viscount Who Loved Me”

In the season 2 finale, Kate gives viewers a refreshing style switch-up at the last grand ball. Deviating from her usual color scheme of rich purple and teal jewel tones, the Sharma entered the ballroom in an bright orange ensemble, complete with silk white gloves and her signature side swept braid. The dress choice appears to be a pivotal moment in the elder sister’s character arc, as she is shown wearing a beaming smile as the perfect accessory to her new look. No longer the reserved spinster sister in darker colors, Kate is a vibrant sight while shamelessly taking to the dancefloor with the Viscount.

#4: Daphne’s Blue Dress
“Shock and Delight”

Daphne is an avid lover of blue throughout the series, but the pale blue garment she donned early in season 1 remains to be one of her most memorable. While out for a daytime stroll with the Duke, a prospective husband society believed her to be courting, Daphne made sure to deliver a meticulously coordinated look guaranteed to wow any suitor of the ton. A baby doll or empire-style silhouette adorned with embroidered flowers, tulle overlay, and sheer lace sleeves paired with a matching hair ribbon and choker proved that the breathtaking Bridgerton has the regal fashion sense worthy of a future duchess title.

#3: Lady Danbury in White
“Capital R Rake”

As the esteemed hostess of the season’s high stakes opening ball, Lady Danbury put together an ensemble that did not disappoint. Not one to blend in with the crowd, the confident grand dame opted for an icy fashion moment, wearing a diamond-encrusted, white jacquard-like ball gown that shone throughout the ballroom. As if the dress wasn’t show-stopping enough, she topped off the look with a glistening tiara, necklace, matching white gloves, and a high fashion collared neck piece. The outfit was destined to be worn by a woman like Lady Danbury, who never fails to make a statement both through her influential status and her wardrobe.

#2: Daphne’s Bejeweled Gown
“Shock and Delight”

The fake courtship trope of Daphne and the Duke required that the couple draw society’s attention. The already stunning duo doesn’t have to do much to make their presence known, but Daphne’s elaborate gowns sure do help. In a turning point scene from season 1, Daphne dances with the Duke in a highly decorated chiffon dress that couldn’t possibly go unnoticed. A diamond-encrusted neckline and sleeves, silk white gloves, and a sparkling necklace and tiara were the apropos touches fitting for the season’s admired diamond. The fun the two were having certainly added to the moment’s significance, but there is no denying the impact her bejeweled ensemble had!

Top 10 Times Kate McKinnon Broke Character on SNL

Many of Bridgerton’s most impressionable outfits are gowns worn in the ballroom. However, the daring Kate Sharma fittingly broke this mold when wearing an iconic hunting ensemble. While out on an excursion with the Bridgerton boys, she sported a long teal jacket with a perfectly matched top hat. The gun she held was the accessory we didn’t know we needed, as it completed a look that screamed strong independent woman. Although the sharp and bold personality of Kate is frequently embodied in her attire, this outfit was the epitome of her individualistic style that not many others could pull off. It was in this moment that Kate proved that it is indeed possible to serve striking high fashion even in the woods.
