#10: “Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Gauntlet” (2018)

The Mystery of the Chupacabra Explained

This fan-favorite series, dating back the late ‘80s, got a new lease on life in 2017 when it became the most recent property to receive a Netflix revival. Suffice it to say, fans ate up every minute of the 14 episode season and were thrilled to hear that Netflix had greenlit another 6 episodes to be released November 22nd, 2018. Released just 10 days before the season itself, this trailer puts Patton Oswalt and Felicia Day front and center to get you pumped for “The Gauntlet”: 6 terrible movies to be watched back-to-back by Jonah Heston, his robo-companions and you, the viewers at home. Call in sick at work… this just got serious.

#9: “Five Feet Apart” (2019)

Top 10 Must-See Trailers of July 2018

He stole the hearts of viewers as a young child in “Big Daddy” and “Friends”, and now he’s setting them aflutter for a new generation of viewers as a teen heartthrob; he’s Cole Sprouse, and his career is looking bright. This 2019 romantic drama sees Sprouse teaming up with the similarly excellent Haley Lu Richardson to explore the love story between two teenagers undergoing treatment for cystic fibrosis. It’s a unique and compelling premise. The trailer manages to make us smile and tear up, and the two leads clearly have chemistry. So long as the film treats the illness with respect, it should prove to be a must-watch for fans of teen dramas.

#8: “Wayne” (2019-)

What if Wayne Gretzky Wasn't Traded To The LA Kings

YouTube Premium is really stepping up its game in terms of original scripted content, first with “Origin” and now this delightfully dark action comedy. Starring Mark McKenna as the titular Wayne, the series follows a 15 year old and his crush Del - played by Ciara Bravo - as they attempt to recover Wayne’s late father’s car. The trailer gives off a vibe that’s very reminiscent of the Netflix and Channel 4 co-production “The End of the F***ing World”. And considering what a unique and fun ride that was, we welcome something in a similar vein. Violent, edgy, but also heartwarming, this trailer promises a series brimming with indie charm.

#7: “Once Upon a Deadpool” (2019)

Top 10 Best Trailers of November 2017

Never has a film franchise as successful as “Deadpool” been willing to get so wonderfully weird. The sequel absolutely killed it at the box office, and now 20th Century Fox is looking to prove that Deadpool can reach an even wider audience with a PG-13 cut. Of course… this is far more than a censored version. No, as shown in this wild holiday trailer, it apparently involves a framing narrative and a kidnapped Fred Savage. Now there’s admittedly been some online controversy as to the genesis of this unique concept, but whoever thought it up… it’s genius. Also, we have no idea what’s up with the nod to “Up”, but we like it.

#6: Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 — Nuketown Trailer

Every fan of the Call of Duty franchise has their own favorite map, but Nuketown holds a special place in players’ hearts. First introduced in Call of Duty: Black Ops, the small but iconic multiplayer map has been reinvented and included in each Black Ops instalment since. As this trailer shows however, Black Ops 4 is bringing us Nuketown like we’ve never seen it before… with a Russian twist. This new interpretation is sure to shakeup the way people play the map, but the trailer makes it clear that, despite numerous changes, the gameplay offered is as delightfully chaotic as ever. Wait… is that a nuke under Nuketown? Yes… yes it is.

#5: “Aquaman” (2018)

Is it just another chapter in DC’s messy cinematic universe, or will it join “Wonder Woman” as proof that characters other than Batman and Superman can succeed on the big screen? However things play out for “Aquaman” in terms of reviews and box office results, there’s no denying that this final trailer was a triumph. Director James Wan, alongside screenwriters David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and Will Beall have crafted a rich, detail-oriented and breathtaking world for Aquaman and his people. This trailer gives us a clear idea of the film’s plot, while teasing even more massive fight scenes and moments of pulse-pounding adventure. Sure, there’s some spotty dialogue, but it looks like a fun aquatic ride.

#4: “The Lion King” (2019)

Also in:

Top 10 Must See Trailers of October 2018

It’s the Hollywood Circle of Life - as childhood favorites fade, studios dust them off and make them new again. Remakes aren’t always welcome, and when Disney announced their new “Lion King” movie back in 2016, fans were nervous. But the magic of the movie’s teaser trailer is undeniable - bringing us back to Pride Rock and showing off the film’s incredible photorealistic graphics. Can the movie fulfill our now soaring expectations? With Jon Favreau at the helm, James Earl Jones returning to voice Mufasa, and Donald Glover as Simba, our hopes are high. We can’t decide who’s ridiculously cuter - the new Simba, or the new Dumbo, also coming in 2019.

#3: “The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part” (2019)

Also in:

Top 10 Must See Trailers of May 2018

Creative dynamic duo Phil Lord and Christopher Miller handed off directing duties to Mike Mitchell for this highly-anticipated sequel. Though that was disappointing news to many, Lord and Miller wrote the screenplay and serve as producers, and you can see their fingerprints all over this amazing trailer. The unique brand of humor that made the first film such a hit is on full display, from WyldStyle’s brooding opening monologue, to the numerous pop culture references and parodies. We’re especially pleased to make the acquaintance of Chris Pratt’s second character, Rex Dangervest, a spoof of Pratt’s various other notable roles. This trailer is so densely packed with great moments, you’ll want to watch it on repeat.

#2: “Toy Story 4” (2019)

Top 10 Most Anticipated Releases of November 2018

People are worried that a fourth Toy Story film risks tarnishing the sterling reputation of a perfect trilogy. That’s fair. But take a look at this first teaser trailer and then try telling us that your inner child isn’t jumping for joy. Yes this fourth entry is risky, but when given the opportunity to spend more time with these iconic characters, you can’t help but want to reach out, grab hold of their little plastic hands and join the party. This teaser doesn’t offer much insight about the plot, but it’s left us very curious about the new makeshift toy, Forky. Also, that second teaser with Key and Peele was hilarious. Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions Marvel's Spider-Man - Turf Wars: Just the Facts Trailer “Dumplin'” (2018) “Fighting With My Family” (2018)

#1: “Detective Pikachu” (2019)

Top 20 Detective Characters of All Time

We’re going to be honest with you… we had no idea what WB, Legendary and The Pokémon Company were thinking when they first announced this movie. The first live action/mocap Pokémon movie and they decide to adapt a spin-off video game that got good, but not great reviews and did modestly well in sales? It seemed like a terribly misguided effort, but oh how wrong we were! This trailer drops us straight into the live-action Pokémon world of our dreams, and introduces a take on Pikachu - voiced by Ryan Reynolds - that we never knew we needed! Up-and-comer Justice Smith was also great choice for the human lead. This just looks like SO much fun!
