In the Season 9 episode “The Separation Oscillation,” Sheldon, still feeling the pain of the breakup from Amy, goes to her apartment to return some of her belongings. One of those belongings happens to be a scarf which, as Sheldon reminds Amy, she wore the time they went ice skating. Hold up! What does he mean “ice skating?” As we learnt in the previous season, Amy can’t ice skate because of her brittle ankles. So, unless she was fighting through the pain the time she and Sheldon hit the ice, someone messed up on this one.

We all understand how nicknames work, right? Raj’s full name is “Rajesh,” Sheldon’s mother and sister call him “Shelly,” and Penny’s dad is named Wyatt but everyone calls him “Bob.” Wait, that last one doesn’t make any sense. As far as we know, “Bob” isn’t a nickname for Wyatt. And yet in the Season 2 episode, “The Maternal Capacitance” Penny refers to her father as “Bob.” Throughout the rest of the series’ run, Penny’s father is named Wyatt. It’s like the writers decided to name the character “Wyatt” having forgotten they’d used the name “Bob” one time. Obviously, no one in that writers room has an eidetic memory like “Shelly.”
#8: Jenga Continuity “The Shiny Trinket Maneuver”
Howard, Raj and Leonard are playing Donkey Kong Jenga while discussing Howard’s distress over the fact that Bernadette doesn’t want to have kids. After Howard makes his play, Raj makes his move and places Donkey Kong on top of the tower. But then, as the conversation continues forward, the game play jumps back in time and Raj repeats his previous play. Then it’s Leonard’s turn and he starts to tap at a piece of the tower. But instead of finishing, he sits back and Howard takes a turn. Now, given the important nature of the conversation, you’d be forgiven if you missed the multiple mistakes that take place within the gameplay. Unfortunately, it appears as though the continuity person on set missed them as well.
#7: How Do You Spell “Restricted?” “The Hawking Excitation”

“The Hawking Excitation” episode from Season 5 is one of the series’ best. In the episode, Howard is working with Stephen Hawking while a jealous Sheldon does everything he can to try and get Howard to introduce him to his idol. While you can’t miss the French maid costume or the shiny belt buckles, there’s a spelling mistake that seems to have gone under the radar. Unless of course there is such a thing as a “Resticted Area.” As you can see, the sign on the door to Howard’s lab is missing an “R.” We wonder if anyone got in “touble” for that mistake?

In “The Gothowitz Deviation,” we learn two things about Sheldon Cooper. One, there’s probably a universe out there in which exists a clown Sheldon made of candy. And two, Sheldon doesn’t dance. While we can’t confirm or deny the existence of candy clown Sheldon, we do know that Sheldon does, in fact, dance. And we know this because he says so the following season when the girls want to take him out to a club. That isn’t the last time Sheldon shows off his moves, either. Remember the high-on-cold-medicine line dance and the trying-to-get-Amy-to-have-a-baby-with-him flamenco?

When Howard is asked to throw out the first pitch at an Angels game, he comes up with the idea to have the Mars rover carry the ball to home plate instead. Or at least it seems like a great idea until he realizes how slow it moves. In fact, it moves so slowly it gives the catcher time to leave, run errands, and return to his position behind the plate before the rover is even half way there. Okay, so that’s probably not true, but it’s the story we came up with to explain why the catcher behind the plate changes for the wide shot, and returns to the original dude in the next shot. Notice the appearing and disappearing chest protector and mask.
#4: Dilated Eyes “The Hamburger Postulate”
Leslie Winkle is a brilliant woman who’s smart enough to correct Sheldon’s work. But as it turns out, her knowledge of physics doesn’t translate to an understanding of how heroin affects people’s pupils. When she initially proposes a physical encounter with Leonard, he seems to hesitate, causing her to wonder if it’s because he has feelings for Penny. She postulates that the dilated pupils she noticed earlier when Penny was around either indicate sexual attraction or heroin addiction. It’s a funny line, but it’s also an inaccurate one. You see, heroin actually has the opposite effect on pupils, causing them to get very small rather than dilate. In case you were wondering, she was right about dilated pupils indicating sexual attraction, though.

The equation Leslie fixed in Season 1 wasn’t the last time there was a mistake on Dr. Cooper’s whiteboard. Although, the oopsie in Season 4 isn’t a complex physics equation but rather a very simple spelling error. In “The Cruciferous Vegetable Amplification,” Sheldon is trying to figure out when he’s going to die in the hope that he can live long enough to make it to the singularity. While we can’t tell you if the equations are correct - we’ll assume they are - you don’t have to be a genius to see that the word “fusion” is spelled wrong, with an “H” thrown in there. We’re surprised no one noticed the mistake, especially former spelling bee champion Leonard.

When it comes to laundry, most of us have probably experienced losing socks in the wash. But have you ever had socks appear out of nowhere? Sheldon has, and it didn’t phase him one bit. Follow along and see if you can spot the mistake. It begins with the blue t-shirt which you can plainly see sitting on Sheldon’s folding board. While he and Penny talk, you see Sheldon prepping the t-shirt for the fold, and then……. socks! Yup, that just happened. But don’t worry, the t-shirt didn’t get away. After the magic socks, Sheldon again grabs the t-shirt and finishes what he started.

We know that Sheldon knows a lot about superheroes and has an eidetic memory. And with traits like that you’d think he’d be able to remember a classic scene from a classic superhero movie. But as it turns out he can’t. Let’s listen to him describe the scene. Now let’s watch the scene. Not only does Superman fly up to save Lois rather than swoop down, Ms. Lane is way more than two feet above the ground when he catches her. We call that a Super-Mistake.
