Does Lupita ever not look good? Welcome to WatchMojo.com and today we’ll be counting down the Top 10 Lupita Nyong’o Fashion Moments. For this list, we’re looking at Lupita’s best red carpet looks.

#10: 67th British Academy Film Awards

At the 2014 BAFTA awards, Lupita made everyone green with envy when she arrived on the red carpet in a bold emerald green silk fishtail-hem gown by Christian Dior. Not one to shy away from bright bold colors, she knows just how to perfectly balance her outfit with minimal accessories. Lupita chose to compliment her gown with thick gold cuffs, matching gold band around her waist and simple studs for earrings. To finish the look she wore green metallic eyeshadow and red lips. Absolutely exquisite.

There’s no color Lupita can’t pull off, even when it’s a tricky pastel like this lavender Elie Saab frock. The hue compliments her skin, as does the cut of the bodice with the deep V in the chest. The rainbow band used for the straps and at her waist cuts a nice figure and leaves just enough skin exposed to make the gown feel youthful and sexy. Never one to shy away from her Kenyan roots, Lupita paired the dress with a matching headwrap, a statement piece usually found in a more traditional African dress. …

#8: “12 Years a Slave” Premiere

On one of her first red carpets for the “12 Years a Slave” premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, Lupita showed up looking like a seasoned pro in her white Prada gown. A departure from her colorful style, the floor-length long-sleeved gown was more demure than her usual attire, but it worked in her favor. The well-constructed garment showed that a few pleats and golden lattice embroidery could go a long way in taking a gown from basic to glam. The golden, jeweled clutch she carried gave the outfit that extra pop.

#7: 87th Academy Awards

Ever since she sprung onto the scene at the 2014 Oscars, she’s used the awards ceremony as a chance to show off her fabulous sense of style. At the 87th Academy Awards, she had the honor of presenting the trophy for Best Supporting Actor. For the occasion, she wore a cream beaded Calvin Klein Collection gown. She looked expensive and timeless; the dress looked as if it were inspired by a 1920s flapper’s gown. She paired the gown with Chopard jewelry to complete the look.

#6: 71st Annual Golden Globes

Bold colors are clearly Lupita’s fashion go-to, and some of her standout looks are when she’s rocking a solid, vibrant hue as she did with her 2014 Golden Globes outfit. Wearing a bright red Ralph Lauren creation, she looked immaculate on the red carpet. The dress had a simple cut: A-line, body-skimming and off-the-shoulder, which really let the color speak for itself. The dress also featured a gorgeous cape, a style that not many people can pull-off without looking like they’re wearing a costume. She kept the rest of her look understated from her makeup to minimal jewelry and her short, natural hairdo.

Lupita knows the cardinal rule of style: the shoes can make or break the outfit. That’s why she struck all the right notes when she showed up the 2017 CFDA Fashion Awards wearing an elegant, softly draped cream Jason Wu gown paired with metallic-looking Paul Andrew heels. It was apparent that she chose the dress to compliment her shoes, which were feathered and looked like they were plucked from a Grecian crown. The whole ensemble made her look regal and in command.

#4: 2015 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

… Looking better than the Oscar itself, Lupita killed it when she showed up at the 2015 Vanity Fair Oscar Party in this Calvin Klein Collection creation. The simple, beaded strapless gold gown fit her body like a glove to show off her toned physique. The dress sparkled and the color brought out the golden undertones of her skin. She kept her makeup minimal, with a dark brown statement lip and otherwise fresh face, showing off her flawless skin. Her natural hair was the perfect choice to tie it all together.

… As the voice of Maz Kanata in the Star Wars films, Lupita isn’t physically seen on-screen, but despite that, she made sure that everyone saw her on the red carpet for the “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” premiere. Wearing an emerald green gown by Halpern, the embellished dress looked like a decadent work of art. She worked every inch of the gown from the strapless bodice to the thigh-high slit. As always, she kept her accessories simple, with diamond studs from Tiffany & Co. and gold strappy heels.

When Lupita enters a room, she commands attention; nowhere is this more apparent than at the Los Angeles premiere of “Black Panther” when she arrived looking like an absolute queen. Wearing a custom deep purple gown by Versace, she amped up the wow factor by rocking a high narrow bun and finished the look with Beladora jewelry. Lupita has proven she can rock any look, and this ensemble proves that she’s fashion royalty. Before we unveil our number one pick, here are a few honorable mentions: 2015 Cannes Film Festival 2014 MTV Movie Awards 24th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards …

#1: 86th Academy Awards

After her critically acclaimed role in 2013’s “12 Years a Slave,” Lupita began to make a name for herself as a fashionable force to be reckoned with. But it wasn’t until she attended the 86th Academy Awards in this Cinderella blue Prada gown that she cemented her status as a fashion icon. The double-v in the bodice and sleeveless cut showed off her toned arms, and the color made her skin pop. Her look was a win from head-to-toe, from her gold headband to the minimal Fred Leighton jewelry to accent the ensemble. Her winning ensemble stole the show that night, as did she when she won the award for Best Supporting Actress.
