VOICE OVER: Rebecca Brayton WRITTEN BY: Tori Serpico
Jennifer Coolidge should give every award show speech, even when she loses. For this list, we'll be looking at the funniest monologues performed by comedy legend Jennifer Coolidge! Our countdown includes "The White Lotus," "Best in Show," "A Cinderella Story," and more!

#10: 28th Critics' Choice Awards (2023)

Sometimes, the critics get things right! Coolidge took home the win at the 2023 Critics Choice Awards for Best Supporting Actress for her performance as Tanya McQuoid in the dramedy series “The White Lotus.” This is not her first win for the role, but her acceptance speech still got the audience riled up in excitement! As a longtime comedic actress whose critical acclaim had only just begun rolling in because of her portrayal of Tanya, Coolidge reminded the crowd that it’s never too late to have your dreams come true!

#9: “We Both Love Soup” “Best in Show” (2000)

What is a tenet of true love, if not sharing a love of the important things? This speech comes from the mockumentary “Best in Show,” which follows the highest pedigree pooch owners as they prepare for a high stakes dog show. Coolidge plays Sherri Ann Cabot, who is married to a much older man– but isn’t afraid to profess her adoration for him and all of their shared interests. Her monologue is delivered perfectly, embracing the awkwardness through her dry manner of speech and well timed hesitation. No other actor could have nailed this role, or this speech, as well as Coolidge did!

#8: Mother, Mother, Mother… “The White Lotus” (2021-)

If you’re a die hard fan of “The White Lotus” – pun intended– you understand how purely cringe this moment is! Newlyweds Rachel and Shane have no idea they are joining the grieving Tanya on a boat ride to scatter her mother’s ashes, and the eulogy she delivers drives the tension all the way home. We know Tanya has been struggling to say goodbye to her mother, but this speech gave the audience heartbreaking and hilarious new insight into the twisted relationship she actually had with her. And of course, we can listen to Jennifer Coolidge ugly cry all day long.

#7: Mr. Pirate Man “Shotgun Wedding” (2022)

The 2022 romantic comedy film “Shotgun Wedding” is filled to the brim with comedic talent– which includes our wonderful Jennifer Coolidge! She plays Carol Fowler, the mother of the groom at a destination wedding gone wrong, and speaks up against a group of dangerous pirates in this climactic monologue. Carol wants to “humanize” herself against the villains by telling them a bit about who she is. Her determination and brash confidence are equally admirable and hysterical. Once again, she is perfectly cast as a lovable, melodramatic parent with a super sharp wit!

#6: That Talk “A Cinderella Story” (2004)

The Untold Story of Victoria Monét

Even though we all enjoy watching her shine on screen, Coolidge plays an incredible movie villain that you have to love to hate! As the evil stepmother, Fiona prohibits Sam from going to the school dance and instead demands that she works at the restaurant. When Sam begs for her to reconsider, Fiona launches into a brief speech to explain her feelings to her step-daughter. You expect to hear a long, heartfelt explanation for her decision. But Fiona is able to cut right to the chase in effective, if brutal fashion. Ouch, ice cold!

#5: 29th Screen Actors Guild Awards (2023)

Another win for Coolidge, and for Tanya! During the 29th Annual SAG Awards, she was honored again for her “White Lotus” performance. She gets genuinely emotional as she accepts the award, acknowledging how grateful she has been for the opportunity to have this once in a lifetime role. Even through her tears, she manages to get plenty of laughs as she describes a white lie her father told to get her out of school so she could attend the Charlie Chaplin Film Festival. Hearing this sweet and humorous origin story makes us love her even more!

#4: Kicking out Greg “The White Lotus” (2021-)

Everyone feels a little bit like Tanya sometimes. Well, if you don’t, we certainly envy you! What makes her character so enthralling is the balance she strikes between zaniness and raw emotion. She opens up to her new confidante Belinda about her insecurities in dating, fearing that her crush Greg will run once he learns who she really is. But her monologue actually coming clean to Greg about her unstable tendencies is just too funny and rewatchable not to take the cake! We hate to see her self-sabotage, but we love to see her embrace her true– albeit, “crazy”– self!

#3: 74th Primetime Emmy Awards (2022)

You never forget your first… Emmy Award! This win for outstanding supporting actress in a limited series was part of Coolidge’s hot streak on the awards trail. When she gets on stage, you can just tell that she is being her true, authentic self. Similarly to the character that has won her the award, her out-there personality is impossibly endearing. Coolidge is clearly caught off guard, and struggles to get through her long list of “thank yous.” She doesn’t even stop her speech when the music plays her off– instead, she begins to dance!

#2: The Yacht “The White Lotus” (2021-)

Even if you haven’t fully binge watched “The White Lotus” quite yet, we can assure you that you’ve definitely seen memes of this iconic monologue! But be warned– major spoilers ahead in this entry! Throughout season two, fans were eager to discover whether or not Tanya’s lavish new friends were who they said they were, or if they had sinister intentions. When the latter is proven to be true, Tanya desperately pleads with the captain of the yacht for help– but learns he only speaks Italian, and understands nothing but the word “gay.” It’s a hard scene to watch, but this provides much needed comic relief!

#1: 80th Golden Globe Awards (2023)

Sweep, sweep, sweep! Coolidge was a hit at the 2023 Golden Globe awards. She was on a roll at the event– from being nervous to make a mistake while presenting an award, or making the red carpet press crack up by claiming her dream role is to play a dolphin. And yet again, taking center stage to accept another award for best supporting actress. Right away, she stole the crowd’s heart by choosing to put her award on the ground while she spoke. Through all the bleeps, Coolidge openly talks about how this role– and Mike White, the show’s writer and director– changed her life. She’s invited to parties now, for goodness sake!
