Don’t let the purple fool you—this monster is one tough opponent. Even though the series is full of challenging bosses, like Penance in “Final Fantasy X,” AV stands apart. He’s so difficult that Square Enix imposed two hour limits on battles with him. You’ll need all the help you can get to fight him, because even if you do hit him, he can fully heal himself.

Good luck being faster than this guy. When you get to the end of Timber’s Island, you’ll have to beat him in a on-on-one race to the finish, and it won’t be easy. If you want to give yourself a chance, make sure to hit as many of the speed-boosting zippers as you can with the perfect angle in order to get the optimal green turbo. You do race him a second time in Space, but that race isn’t as tough as his first.

This boss is constantly being built up in the background, but nothing can prepare you for actually taking him on. One touch from his menacing skull face and you’ll be dead. To make matters worse, you also have to avoid asteroids and other ships while you fight him. When you hear him tell you to, “Run, run, run,” you’ll be tempted to take his advice.

In this game adaptation of the classic horror movie, you play as one of six camp counselors and try to survive Crystal Lake. Whoever you choose, you’re going to have a tough time getting past the masked killer and finishing the game. His furious knife attacks are hard to avoid. Mostly because for some reason your character seems to have concrete feet and can only duck left and right, … umm frozen in fear?

Out of all the bosses in this notoriously difficult game, one boss in this game can be terrifying —now imagine taking on two at the same time. When you face off with this pair, you’ll have to deal with both of their punishing attacks. The lumbering giant with the huge hammer and the skinny night with the swift sword compliment each other perfectly to make you cower in fear. Also when one dies the other absorbs his strength, just when you thought you had the upper hand.

Where to start with this guy? His projectiles come at you constantly, and his Electric Arc will drain your health quickly, and it’s movement is completely random. Make sure you have plenty of homing missiles and tri rockets before you face him, because you can’t replenish your ammo or health during the battle. That is if you can actually get to the battle, as you have to actually be a game completionist, and save all these Koala like creatures, Which takes a really long time.

As you approach the command center of this alien overlord, you’ll have to deal with a countless number of electric fields, alien warriors, and more. What you thought that Alien face was the boss? Ah only gets worse as you have to get to his flashing nerve center, because you’ll have to face even an even worse onslaught of aliens in a tight space when you get to the heart of the operation. There’s only one way to take him out—fire away!

Like Dark Souls, this series is infamous for its difficulty, and this battle may very well have been its high point. The speed of her attacks requires you to be quick in order to dodge them. She moves pretty fast herself, and you’ll have a tough time landing even one sword slash, let alone a combo. Be patient, though, and wait until she’s in just the right position for you to take a swipe at her.

Queen is defiantly a fitting title for this boss, while her form isn’t anything exciting. When she starts firin … HOLY SHIT! That is an absolutely absurd. There’s barely any room for you to mess up. You’ll probably get a bit frustrated, but hang in there, because it’s worth it to see her go up in a blaze of blue smoke.
