Who needs #SquadGoals when you have BFFs like these? Welcome to MsMojo and today we’ll be counting down our picks for the Top 10 Funniest Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Moments. For this list, we’ll be looking at times these hilarious friends, actresses and comedians came together to have us doubled over with laughter.

#10: Sister Act “Sisters” (2015)

Switching up the roles they normally take, Poehler plays the responsible sister while Fey plays the hot mess in this comedy. When their parents sell their childhood home, they return to clear out their belongings and decide to throw one last epic party. Things soon get out of control when all the adults regress to their teenage years and chaos ensues. From finding the perfect party outfit to their incredible dance routine, we are laughing out loud from start to end. Writer and fellow SNL aluma Paula Pell actually wrote the parts for this duo thanks to their incredible chemistry on and off screen.

#9: Presenting Carol Burnett with the Life Achievement Award “22nd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards” (2016)

From one comedy legend to two others, Amy and Tina proved that they learned from the best as they honored Carol Burnett with a heartfelt yet hilarious tribute. At the 2016 Screen Actors Guild Awards, they celebrated her incredible and impressive career while cracking everyone up in the process. Whether they’re joking about the hardships of comedy, how Burnett inspired their careers, or pointing out that their idol could do Michael Keaton or Leonardo Dicaprio’s jobs better than them, we can’t help but chuckle. There is really no better way to honor comedy royalty than by making people laugh and no pairing better suited for that task.

#8: “Bronx Beat with Betty & Jodi” “Saturday Night Live” (1975-)

We love when SNL alumni return to host the show because we know we’ll get to see our favorite sketches, characters and maybe even cameos from their famous friends. In this blast from the past, Amy and Maya Rudolph play Betty and Jodi, two Bronx housewives with a talk show and a lot to complain about. Tina joins them as Betty’s cousin Karen from Philadelphia and together they try to filter through the world’s bad news, only to keep circling back. While Karen’s Christmas ornaments may not provide much cheer to them, we are far cheerier after watching this skit.

#7: Political Parodies “Saturday Night Live” (1975-)

The writers over at SNL didn’t miss a trick when they noticed the physical likeness between Alaska’s ex- governor, Sarah Palin and Tina Fey. Together with Amy’s iconic portrayal of Hillary Clinton, these two were unstoppable and their impressions became an instant hit and fan favorite. Pairing the flamboyant Republican running-mate and no-nonsense Presidential hopeful was exactly what we all needed. While the sketch highlights their extensive differences, they unite in the fight against sexism in politics. Fey won an Emmy for her impression and some even believed that her uncanny imitation may have hurt McCain’s campaign.

#6: Spoofing “Star Wars” “Sisters - The Farce Awakens” (2015)

It’s definitely a ballsy move to open on the same day as a Star Wars movie, but if anyone has the force on their side, it’s Tina and Amy. Parodying a featurette made by the Star Wars team, this promo sees the “Sisters” stars recruiting Maya Rudolph, Ike Barinholtz and even George Takei (kay) for a similarly styled featurette. As fans are treated to amusing behind the scenes snippets, the ladies discuss the movie using bizarre English accents because well, why not? At the end of the featurette, they call ceasefire on the rivalry with the cheeky and witty tagline #YouCanSeeThemBoth.

#5: “Tina & Amy's Dope Squad” “Saturday Night Live” (1975-)

Top 10 Iconic Tina Turner Moments

This wasn’t the first time the pair took a swing at T-Swift,but we hope there was no “Bad Blood” when they parodyed her action-packed music video. While Taylor’s squad famously featured actors and models, the dope squad celebrates everyday women, from nannies to the gynecologist they claim to share. Clad in sexy outfits, they are joined by a rather befuddled Amy Schumer as they master the sultry slow walk in honor of the women who keep them down to earth. While we’re sure that Taylor’s crew is great, we know which squad we would choose to join.

#4: “Mom Jeans” “Saturday Night Live” (1975-)

Top 10 Funniest Times John Mulaney Was Funny

Tina was SNL’s first female head writer and when she wrote this spoof commercial, she proved just who wears the pants in the writers’ room. Joined by Amy, Maya Rudolph and Rachel Dratch, the ladies model a pair of mom jeans complete with a desirable nine inch zipper and flattering casual front pleat. Their exaggerated cheeriness throughout the skit is only rivaled by its hilarious tagline in having us all in stitches. The joke didn’t end there either as Tina would revive this SNL classic in 2019 along with Rachel Dratch and Queer Eye’s Tan France on “Dressing Funny.”

#3: “I’m Not Like a Regular Mom, I’m a Cool Mom.” “Mean Girls” (2004)

If you grew up in the mid-noughties, you could probably quote this movie in your sleep and you have Tina Fey to thank for that. She also specifically wrote the part of Regina’s “cool mom” for her bestie, proving just how well they know each other as we couldn’t imagine anyone better suited. Amy also helped out writing Kevin Gnapoor’s (nuh-POOOR) rap as well as coaching the actor on how to perform it, even providing some choreography. While the pair sadly don’t share any scenes, we imagine that life on set with these two was so totally fetch.

#2: A “Weekend Update” First “Saturday Night Live (1975-)

Also in:

Top 10 Funniest Kristen Wiig Moments

The world got to know and love Amy and Tina’s magical chemistry when they became the first female only co-anchors on Weekend Update in 2004. Their natural charisma and special bond won over audiences and made them one of the most memorable “Update” duos in SNL history. Their women’s news segment celebrated women, called out double standards and taught the world that “b*tch is the new black.” We also loved seeing them team up with Update’s first female host, Jane Curtin as they celebrate the best and most unforgettable moments from the show’s 40 year history. You know how they used to say that there were two types of women: Marilyn Monroes or Jackie Kennedys? Well I think you’re either a Tina or an Amy (I’m a Tina, my sister is an Amy). Anyway, all this to say this list is very important to me and I have a Poehler/Fey 2016 T-shirt that I would love to show you. Alright enough sidebars: let’s look through some hilarious HMs and then we’ll see our funniest Tina & Amy moment Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions. When Tina’s Cameo Stole the Show in Amy’s Directorial Debut “Wine Country” (2019) When Amy Got the Nominees to Treat the Emmys Like They’re Contestants in a Beauty Pageant “63rd Primetime Emmy Awards” (2011) When They Distracted Neil Patrick Harris While He Was Hosting the Emmys “65th Primetime Emmy Awards” (2013) When Amy Played a 16-Year-Old Liz Lemon “30 Rock” (2006-13) When They Re-Lived Their Upright Citizens Brigade Days with Some Improvised Comedy “A.S.S.S.S.C.A.T.: Improv” (2005)

#1: Hosting the Golden Globe Awards Various

Amy and Tina totally dominated the Golden Globes from 2013 to 2015 thanks to their infectious chemistry and daring humor. They expertly pushed boundaries without ever crossing the line, as they called out inequality, tackled social and political issues or took A-Listers down a peg — we’re looking at you, George Clooney and Matt Damon. Their charm and candid humor have us cracking up every time and nothing or no one is off limits. We’re excited that Fey and Poehler are set to return as hosts again in 2021, and the 78th Golden Globes simply can’t get here soon enough.
