#9: “Remnants/Asylum” Asylum (2010)
These two blend so well together it was impossible for us to keep them apart. As the band’s first instrumental, “Remnants” gives us a sense of eeriness before guitarist Dan Donegan’s top-class riff enters the fray and leads us into the titular track of Disturbed’s fifth album. One of the darkest tuns the band has created, “Asylum” is filled to the brim with heavy lyrics and even heavier solos.

Let’s not forget that the Grammy-nominated tune has also got one of Donegan’s best guitar solos.

Who would have thought Disturbed and Genesis would be a match made in heavy metal heaven?
