10: “Take on the World” “Girl Meets World” (2014-17)

A highly anticipated spinoff of a beloved TV classic is destined to have a lot stacked against it, but having an awesome theme song definitely helps swing the odds. Sung by the star of the series, Rowan Blanchard, this song expresses the show's themes of family, friendship, and adventure. The song appeals to younger viewers’ adolescent anticipation of growing up as well as older fans’ nostalgia of the original show. And the accompanying visuals introduced in season three pays homage to the “Boy Meets World” theme song.

#9: “Here I Am” “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody” (2005-08)

A down strumming guitar line and youthful melody make up this pop punk style theme song about two troublemaking twin brothers living at the Tipton Hotel. The opening credits sequence, presenting just a handful of the brothers’ crazy adventures that take place in the swanky hotel, will have you tapping your feet and singing along. Along with the inviting lyrics, the upbeat tune compels you to join in on the mischievous fun and will have you wanting to check in and live the sweet life right along with them.

#8: “Better in Stereo” “Liv and Maddie” (2013-17)

Like many of the songs on this list, the “Liv and Maddie” theme is also sung by the star of the show, Dove Cameron, who portrays both of the series’ titular characters. The song uses the metaphor of listening to music in mono vs listening to music in stereo to describe the relationship between the twin sisters. The two of them may be polar opposites, marching to the beat of their own drums, but two is always better than one. Together they are two halves of the same whole, and that’s perfectly represented in this tune.

#7: “So Far So Great” “Sonny with a Chance” (2009-2011)

Another theme on this list sung by the star of the show, this tune is an enticing and enjoyable intro to the series that jumpstarted Demi Lovato’s career. Lovato’s mature and powerful voice help make this theme song one of Disney’s best. Sonny is ready to shine as she gets the call that all her dreams are just about to come true. Singing with hope and optimism, she is off to the races, going after her big break. And so far everything is great!

#6: “Hang in There Baby” “Good Luck Charlie” (2011-14)

The driving rhythm and changing melody of this fast-paced theme song is the perfect representation of the fast- paced and chaotic lives of the Duncan family. The lyrics drop any guise of poetry or metaphor, and rather get specific in telling the story of the day to day life of this family. Sung by Bridgit Mendler, who plays Teddy Duncan, the lyrics are directed to her little sister, Charlie, and reveal that while life may get messy, she should hang in there, because she’ll help her get through it all.

#5: "Proud Family" “The Proud Family” (2001-05)

In keeping with the show's main theme of family, the lyrics of this song are all about family dynamics. Like any great family, one minute they're driving you crazy, and the next minute you want to hug them. Unlike most Disney theme songs, which fall more into the pop music genre, this song is definitely R&B, purposefully highlighting the culture of a black family. Their heritage is an important part of who the Proud family is, and it’s nice to see a theme song that reflects that. Oh and the track was performed by Solange Knowles with backups from Destiny’s Child!

#4: “Everything Is Not What It Seems” “Wizards of Waverly Place” (2007-12)

When you can get all you ever wanted in your wildest dreams with the snap of your fingers, you might think everything would be a breeze, but everything is not what it seems. With her sultry voice, Selena Gomez brings this mysteriously magical melody to life. It is the perfect fit for this show about a family of wizards trying to get through everyday life with a magical secret. The racing lyrics and other worldly music are emblematic of the magical themes of the show.

#3: “The Best of Both Worlds” “Hannah Montana” (2006-11)

Other than just being awesome intros to their shows, and introducing all the main characters, the best TV show theme songs also serve the purpose of preparing the audience for what to expect from the show. This song does just that. In other words, with this dynamic theme song, you get the best of both Miley Cyrus and Hannah Montana. Miley Stewart is just an average girl, who also happens to live a secret life as a pop star. Just as the song title suggests, she struggles with the two conflicting worlds of Hannah and Miley, but she is making the best of it in whatever ways she can.

#2: “That’s So Raven” “That’s So Raven” (2003-07)

Performed by Raven Symone herself, with a chorus sung by Anneliese van Der Pol, and a sweet rap verse from Orlando Brown, this tune became one of the most popular Disney Channel theme songs of all time. With the hip hop style beat and soulful vocals, you can’t help but sing and dance along. And the images of Raven and friends misbehaving give the viewer a taste of the exciting and humorous tone of the show. Raven can see into the future, but even she couldn’t predict that this song would become a Disney Channel sensation. Before we unveil or top pick, here are a few honorable mentions: “Phil of the Future (Main Theme)” “Phil of the Future” (2004-06) “Shake It Up” “Shake It Up” (2010-13) “Today Is Gonna Be aGreat Day” “Phineas and Ferb” (2007-15)

#1: “Call Me, Beep Me!” “Kim Possible” (2002-07) When you hear those opening notes of that unforgettable beeping ringtone, there is no doubt adventure is on the way. Christina Milian goes all out singing this rocking theme song. Her impassioned vocals and the hard pulsing beat will get you pumped up to join Kim, Ron, and Rufus on their next mission to save the world. This exciting and ridiculously catchy song is not only an amazing theme song, but it’s also awesome as a stand alone song, making it one of Disney Channel’s all-time bests.
