#10: The Hidden Music

“Call of Duty: World at War” (2008), “Call of Duty: Black Ops” (2010), “Call of Duty: Black Ops II” (2012), & “Call of Duty: Black Ops III” (2015) From the first zombies map Nacht Der Untoten, music became a small hidden staple for the series. However, it was Verruckt that helped to shine light on the amazing talents of Elena Siegman and Kevin Sherwood -both lending their talents for future songs in the Zombies soundtrack like Shi No Numa’s “The One”, Der Riese’s “Beauty of Annihilation”, and Kino Der Toten’s “115”. They would continue to lend their talents in future CoD Zombies installments, along with other artists like Eminem, and Avenged Sevenfold. It certainly helps to have some kickass music when fighting through the hordes of the undead.

#9: Der Riese (Fly Trap)

“Call of Duty: World at War” (2008), “Call of Duty: Black Ops” (2010), “Call of Duty: Black Ops III” (2015) Samantha Maxis may be akin to a demonic god that controls all the zombies and other monstrosities sent after everyone, but she’s still a child who loves to play games. After “pack-a-punching” any weapon, you must shoot the wooden panel in the alley to start her game, which requires you to find all 8 hidden items on the map. This marked the first interactive easter egg in the CoD Zombies maps, and was surprisingly entertaining. The easter egg certainly tests your knowledge of the map, while also giving you a small break from fighting the hordes… provided none are chasing you at the time. Unfortunately, Samantha is a sore loser, and provides nothing for winning her game.

#8: Revelations (For the Good of All)

Resident Evil Revelations: Everything You Should Know

“Call of Duty: Black Ops III” (2015) CoD zombies has come a long way from being a minor side-game to a full blown series with an actual story to tell, but all stories must come to an end. After “erasing” your other selves, the time has come to finally take down The Shadow Man. Moving between dimensions and time to revisit old maps is a blast. Multiple boss fights, rituals to be had, all leading to one final showdown against The Shadow Man himself. It is one of the longest easter eggs -and most challenging, but the ending cutscene alone is worth it, seeing Malcolm Mcdowell send our heroes to become the Knights Templar.

#7: Call of the Dead (Stand In)

Top 10 Call of Duty Zombies Weapons

“Call of Duty: Black Ops” (2010) The original crew appears to be absent in this map… until the actors hear mysterious sounds coming from behind a vault like door. Turns out Richtofen still can’t get the teleporter working properly and the four are now stuck here, meaning it's up to the actors-turned-zombie killing machines to help them out. The Wunderwaffe reward is a bit lackluster, seeing as how it is just a temporary power-up, but it’s the banter between the actors and the original cast that steals the show here. It’s too bad we can’t get the door open and have an eight-man zombie killing team.

#6: Shangri La (Time Travel Will Tell)

“Call of Duty: Black Ops” (2010), “Call of Duty: Black Ops III” (2015) Every player acknowledges the difficulty of choosing four perks out of the eight available… aside from Juggernog of course. Well thanks to a mysterious treasure hidden in a jungle-like temple, you can feel the ultimate power of owning all eight perks… but only you. While this easter-egg doesn’t add all that much lore or story, just the sheer power of eight never-ending perks makes this worth doing, and since it can be repeated, your team can get the never-ending power too.

#5: Gorod Krovi (Love and War)

“Call of Duty: Black Ops III” (2015) Here there be dragons… and mechs… and drunk Russians; let’s put it this way, zombies are the least of your concern. As part of the Origins crew, you’ve come to erase Nikolai, but dragons stand in your way, so you’ll need to work together to reach the original Russian. Aside from the awesome dragons in this easter egg, including being able to summon them for help, it’s the fact that it leads up to two epic final boss battles -one right after the other- that makes working towards this easter egg all the more worth it. Anyone remember when this series used to just be about killing Nazi Zombies?

#4: Origins (Little Lost Girl)

“Call of Duty: Black Ops II” (2012), “Call of Duty: Black Ops III” (2015) Time to turn back the clock... and travel to another dimension? Starting what will be the end of the original storyline, this easter egg is surprisingly easy and short compared to most of the others. You’ll need to collect all elemental staves and activate all three giant robots to get this easter egg going. Wielding the staves is half the fun though, as you’ll get even more destructive powers with the three robots attacking G-Strike locations, and the crazy Thunder Punch/Iron Fists melee attacks. If you can reign your destructive tendencies in, you’ll find an intriguing little cutscene at the end, featuring two major characters...

#3: Der Eisendrache (My Brother’s Keeper)

Also in:

Top 10 Easter Eggs HIDDEN for Video Game CHEATERS

“Call of Duty: Black Ops III” (2015) With the Origins crew back, Der Eisdendrache’s easter egg wasn’t just fun, it also acted as a landmark for the CoD Zombies series. While “boss” zombies have existed before, they were more or less just a distraction or a small challenge. Having to work together as a team to bring down The Keeper is challenging, and your reward is launching missiles to blow up the moon, which is a nice little nod to another “Zombies” easter egg. With all said and done, we’re treated to a heartfelt goodbye to the memorable Tank Dempsey… hoorah old friend.

#2: Mob of the Dead (Pop Goes the Weasel)

Also in:

10 Hidden Secrets In Dead Island 2

“Call of Duty: Black Ops II” (2012) If you can’t do the time don’t do the crime… loop. Major deja vu plays throughout this easter egg as the group is still determined to escape this hellish nightmare, revealing that this isn’t their first attempt. After betraying and killing “Weasel”, the three are sentenced to the electric chair and have been forced to relive this cycle over and over again. Making use of unique mechanics such as loosening your coil on the mortal plane, this is a crazy easter egg in an equally crazy map. It’s up to the players in the end to choose however, to break or continue this endless cycle… oh who are we kidding, we wanna keep killing zombies!

#1: Moon (Richtofen’s Grand Scheme)

Also in:

Top 10 Coolest Pokémon From Pokémon Sun & Pokémon Moon

“Call of Duty: Black Ops” (2010), “Call of Duty: Black Ops III” (2015) The original cast of CoD Zombies has had quite the adventure - going through time and space to film sets, temples, and movie theaters, it’d only make sense for them to go to the moon to fend off the zombie threat. Turns out though, Richtofen had intended to go to the Moon this entire time, as it’s slowly revealed that he planned to wrestle control of the zombies away from Samantha for his own. Completing this easter egg won’t just give Richtofen control over the zombies, but will give all players the eight perks, which you can celebrate over by watching the mad scientist blow up the Earth.
