Who needs streaming services when you've got Interdimensional Cable segments in Rick and Morty?

Who needs streaming services when you’ve got this? Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we’ll be counting down our picks for the Top 10 Interdimensional Cable Segments in Rick and Morty.

For this list, we’ll be looking at the funniest and most memorable shows, commercials, trailers, and news segments that Rick, Morty, and the Smith family have watched on Interdimensional Cable. Please note: Morty’s Mindblowers will not be considered, nor will the events in the lives of the Smith family members from alternate dimensions.

#10: Michael & Pichael Thompson
“Interdimensional Cable 2: Tempting Fate”

Wow… what a place to start our list! When Rick and Morty happen upon an interdimensional news channel, Morty quickly notices that there’s something peculiar about the anchor - and it’s not that he’s reporting completely mundane “opposite news.” What he and Rick discover is not only a pair of conjoined twins doing simultaneous live broadcasts, but also a whole lot of deep-seated sibling resentment. Both brothers are quick to anger, but we’re going to side with Pichael on this one. Judging by his name, he seems like he’s been getting the short end of the stick his whole life. We’re just thankful they decided to resolve their issues on live TV.

#9: “Last Will and Testimeow: Weekend at Dead Cat Lady's House II”
“Rixty Minutes”

In the spirit of the show, allow us a quick digression: Easily one of the scariest moments in the Harry Potter film franchise is when an elderly woman named Bathilda Bagshot is revealed to be a reanimated corpse containing a giant snake. We didn’t think it was possible, but with this trailer, Rick and Morty have officially managed to take the concept of wearing an old lady’s skin and make it even more horrifying. The secret? Swapping out a snake for a bunch of cats and putting said rotting corpse in a rom-com! With so much going on in the trailer, it’s easy to overlook the title. But seriously, if this is a sequel, what was the plot to the first film?!

#8: Turbulent Juice
“Rixty Minutes”

Putting together the content for an interdimensional cable episode is really an exercise in associative thought and improvisation. Most of the clips tend to be pretty random, but few feel quite as off-the-rails and nonsensical as this ad for Turbulent Juice. It’s so incoherent that Morty is totally at a loss as to what exactly it is that they’re watching - and considering the stuff he’s seen on their adventures, that’s saying a whole lot. The narration literally sounds as if the words of the script are being revealed to the narrator one at a time. But hey, however Turbulent Juice works… we’re interested!

#7: “How Do They Do It?”
“Interdimensional Cable 2: Tempting Fate”

Strange though it is to say it, this might be one of the more grounded and accessible segments from interdimensional cable. “How Do They Do It?” is a fairly direct carbon copy of the Discovery and Science Channel program “How It’s Made.” Rather than forks or bowling balls however, this episode instead explains how to make a plumbus - an object that is apparently so common throughout the universe that nobody ever bothers to explain what it actually does. Well, at least you now know how they’re made! Apparently, it involves a Dingle-Bop, some shleem, and a healthy dose of Fleeb Juice. It’s a wonderfully weird segment, and the plumbus instantly became a huge hit with fans.

#6: Baby Legs
“Rixty Minutes”

This is a show that revels in pushing the envelope way further than most would dare, crafting crazy, mind-boggling worlds and toying with heady sci-fi concepts. Perhaps that’s what makes Baby Legs feel so special; it’s simple. This is your run-of-the mill cop procedural: the bad guys look like bikers, the cops look like your friend’s dad, and nobody is a sentient corn cob . The only thing that makes this show stand out? The fact that the central character, despite being an adult man, has the legs of a baby. One minor change to the police procedural archetype… and it feels completely absurd. But sometimes, that’s all it takes to achieve comedy gold. And seriously, if they made this show, you’d totally watch it.

#5: Fake Doors
“Rixty Minutes”

This ad is amazing right off the bat. Who would want a fake door? We’re not sure, but somebody’s buying them! As if that’s not enough, the segment takes a sharp left turn when the camera follows the salesman home after the ad has seemingly ended, only for him to eventually walk back onto set and continue pitching his fake doors. It’s seriously wild stuff. Now… we’ve got a question for you: have you tried going to the website from the ad “www.fakedoors.com.” Wouldn’t you know it, the address doesn’t go anywhere! Now, some might argue that this is just a coincidence, but we choose to believe that the website is just what it promises - a fake door.

#4: “Personal Space”
“Interdimensional Cable 2: Tempting Fate”

We can’t say for certain that this is public access television, but based on the extremely low-budget setting and weird use of a slide projector, we’re going to assume that it is. Phillip Jacobs is the host, and he takes his personal space very seriously. This segment escalates quickly, going from a curiosity, to uncomfortably repetitive, to shockingly gory in just over a minute. It’s an undeniably horrifying way to end a show, but it certainly sets Mr. Jacob’s program apart from the pack. The biggest curveball though? The fact that the “Personal Space Show” has apparently been picked up by BBC TWO.

#3: “Jan Quadrant Vincent 16”
“Interdimensional Cable 2: Tempting Fate”

Are you familiar with Jan-Michael Vincent? To be clear, it’s not a prerequisite for appreciating the joke. Heck, not even Rick can remember who he is! But knowing about JMV certainly adds to the appeal of this already strange segment. Vincent was a heartthrob up-and-coming actor in the 1970s and ‘80s whose addictions caused him to self-destruct. His later career was defined by cheesy action and sci-fi flicks, which is what this segment seems to be lampooning. Really though, the trailer’s strength lies in just how freaking random it is. Sadly, the actor passed away in 2019. Though his is an odd legacy, this segment clearly resonated with fans. There are even a couple of live-action fan trailers for “Jan Quadrant Vincent 16.”

#2: Ants in My Eyes Johnson
“Rixty Minutes”

Infinitely quotable, utterly unforgettable, and probably NOT appropriate for the whole family, “Ants in My Eyes Johnson” is advertising at its finest. Don Draper, eat your heart out. THIS is how you sell something. Blinded by the ants in his eyes, completely lacking any feeling or sense of touch, noticeably sweaty and clearly in need of helping putting on a tie, this electronics store owner has one serious can-do spirit. Not knowing the price of his own wares isn’t ideal, but it’s all part of his charm. We don’t know how they possibly thought up the character, but this voice work is among Justin Roiland’s finest.

Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions:

Eyeholes
“Interdimensional Cable 2: Tempting Fate”

“Adventures of Stealy”
“Interdimensional Cable 2: Tempting Fate”

“Gazorpazorpfield”
“Rixty Minutes”

“How Did I Get Here?”
“Interdimensional Cable 2: Tempting Fate”

Gobble Aliens Track & Field
“Interdimensional Cable 2: Tempting Fate”

#1: “Two Brothers”
“Rixty Minutes”

If we learned one thing from “Rixty Minutes” and “Interdimensional Cable 2: Tempting Fate," it’s that home viewers across multiple dimensions love them some over-the-top action. And while we were tempted to go with the ever-popular “Ball Fondlers,” in the end we had no choice but to give our top spot to “Two Brothers” and the impossible odds that they face. A perfect parody of just how over-the-top contemporary action franchises have become (not to mention extremely short on logic), “Two Brothers” is without a doubt the most epic (and random) fake action film ever made. Also… this trailer turns bad narration into an art form.
