VOICE OVER: Lisa Yang
Time to party! Our first list included a playlist that would set the mood for you to go out. We're back with a second list! We've included music from Macklemore, Bruno Mars, Britney Spears, Beyonce, Sia, Sean Paul, Cyndi Lauper, Calvin Harris, Sia, Fifth Harmony, and Pink.

#10: “Get The Party Started” (2001) Pink

Top 10 Songs That Will Get the Party Started

Imagine, classes and work have just let out for the weekend. It’s been a rough couple of days, and a little voice in your head suggests to just crawl in bed and catch up on sleep. Luckily, Pink knows how to shut that voice up immediately and talk some sense in to you. It starts with a subtle foot tap, a nod of the head, and then those ten simple works come over the speakers and it’s hard not to sing along. Text your friends, and pour a glass of wine while you get ready because this tune will make sure things get started on the right track.

#9: “Work From Home” (2016) Fifth Harmony feat. Ty Dolla $ign

Titans In Time - Work For It (Official Music Video)

Throughout the course of a proper pregame, problems and worries should be put to bed and all effort should be focused on ensuring a good time for the evening. You don’t have to go to work, and that’s why the wee hours of the night will be spent in the club instead. Fifth Harmony intends to make it loud, clear, and simple, and Ty Dolla $ign will only further establish this message. Of course, a music video with its fair share of eye candy doesn’t hurt as well. If you’re not energized and ready to party by the songs end, there’s little more that can be done to help your cause.

#8: “Can’t Hold Us” (2011) Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat. Ray Dalton

Also in:

Top 10 Songs For Getting Ready to Go Out

A common trend among Macklemore tunes is a fresh beat and a carefree message about having a good time. Two seconds in, there’s no question of what you’re listening to. This is complimented by visuals of a pirate ship and a camel in the music video, because why not? The absurd vibe is perfect for getting in the mood to party, and it only gets better as the song progresses. Midway through, the topic of sharks using amphetamines is brought up , and that’s when things really go down. The rising horn pitches are tantalizing and undeniably fun, and allude to a night of epic proportions.

#7: “24K Magic” (2016) Bruno Mars

Also in:

Top 10 Best Little Mix Songs

Bruno Mars is one of the most talented pop stars on the scene today, and there’s no question in anyone’s mind that he’s always having a ball while performing. “24K Magic” is a perfect example of a retro sounding tune with a modern twist. Disco meets auto tune, and funk meets freestyle. It may be from the mid 20-tens, but you could almost swear 24K Magic is a throwback tune, and Bruno wants you to bring out the choker necklace and belly shirt. It’s time to party like it’s the 90s again, and dance the night away.

#6: “Toxic” (2004) Britney Spears

Also in:

Britney Spears Toxic (MDT Lockdown Cover)

Speaking of throwbacks, here’s a woman that knows how to get her freak on and have a great time as well. From the moment “Toxic” dropped, it’s patently world-influenced sound has become synonymous with Britney Spears, who knows a thing or two about wild nightlife. It’s hard to avoid a little shimmy when this tune gets going, or at least bob your head along during its iconic chorus. The exotic vibe really sets the mood right, and let’s not forget about that spy-flick guitar riff that’s really the icing on the cake.

#5: “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)” (2008) Beyonce

Also in:

Singer Victoria Duffield Talks 'Shut Up and Dance' Single

Let’s set the record straight, getting ready to go out, doesn’t mean getting ready to flirt the night away. Beyoncé is here to remind us that the night’s really about hitting the town with your squad, and no one should come between that sacred cause. “Single Ladies” is only further amplified if someone in your friend group is able to perform Sasha Fierce’s iconic dance routine. At the very least, a simple repeated flip of the left hand is a symbol of who’s in charge and how this evening is going to turn out. And believe us, it’s going to turn out great!

#4: “Cheap Thrills” (2016) Sia feat. Sean Paul

Also in:

Rod Stewart And Cheap Trick Concert Review

Sean Paul’s carefree Jamaican raps are enough to get the good vibes flowin’ and Sia has the beats and voice to really drive the point home. What’s the point she’s making? Tonight doesn’t have to be fancy, and it doesn’t have to break the wallet. Tonight is about hitting the dance floor and turning up. So grab a few of your favorite dance partners, turn the radio up, and soak up Sia’s message. It's loud and clear and a hella good tune to kick off the night.

#3: “This is What You Came For” (2016) Calvin Harris feat. Rihanna

Also in:

Top 30 90s Songs You Forgot Were Awesome

On their own, both Rihanna and Calvin Harris know how to make a dance floor go insane. Together, they are able to make a tune that practically demands loud speakers, neon lights, and fog machines to adequately match the song’s level. Its electronic beat is both crazy and classy, and Rihanna’s incredible voice is a perfect match. If you know the words, don’t be afraid to belt them out loud. If not, feel free to jump up and down, shake your hips, and spin around instead. There’s no rules, other than have a good time.

#2: “Heads Will Roll (A-Trak Remix)” (2009) Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Also in:

Touch The Buffalo - In Six Heads About It (Official Music Video)

Cue the keyboard. Next comes singing, drums, and bass. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs took their time turning up with their original single, but A-Trak’s banger of a remix took the party to a whole other level. Not to be taken literally, dancing til you’re dead perfectly hyperbolizes what should be the essence of the night. It’s hard not to think of Project X when this song comes on, and perhaps attempt to recreate a similar experience in the coming hours… just with less cops and arson. Before we unveil our number one pick, here are a few honorable mentions: “Wannabe” (1996) Spice Girls “Hung Up” (2005) Madonna “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” (2011) Katy Perry

#1: “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” (1983) Cyndi Lauper

Also in:

Top 10 Ultimate Girls Night Out Songs

Long before Beyoncé’s battle cry for single ladies, Cyndi Lauper put so simply, and so eloquently what it is that the ladies are looking for during a night out. It’s all we really want after all. Simply put, this tune allows for four minutes worth of shouting lyrics at the top of your lungs, and plucking away at the air guitar when unsure of the words. Of course, this song only gets better with time… and its blast from the past and carefree message are perfect to kick things off. A ballad, anthem, and statement of what’s to be expected, what better way to suit up for the evening is there?
