We've picked up a lot of food hacks from TikTok. Our countdown includes one pan breakfast sandwhich, juicing a lemon, peeling a mango with a glass, and more!

#10: Stripping Herbs with a Cheese Grater

Fresh herbs add a pop of flavor to a number of dishes, but separating the leaves from the stems can be tedious and time consuming. Luckily, TikTok user @anet_shevchenko shared a brilliant hack that only requires a tool you probably already have in your kitchen. Using a box grater, pull herbs like parsley or cilantro through the large holes to remove the leaves in seconds. Use the leaves to top salads or tacos or make delicious dips and dressings. Save the stems for juicing or adding to soup stocks!

#9: Microwaving Garlic to Make Peeling Easier

Is there anything more annoying when it comes to food prep than trying to remove the peels from garlic cloves? Sure, you can buy handy little devices to make removing the peels easier, but who needs another single-use kitchen tool cluttering their drawer? Interestingly enough, all you need to do is heat it up slightly to loosen the peels. Microwave the cloves for 15 seconds at a time until the peels soften and can be easily removed. Be careful not to heat up the cloves for too long though because it can impact their texture.

This breakfast sandwich recipe went viral, and for good reason. It lets you make a well-rounded morning meal in one pan without even using the toaster. First, scramble up some eggs and tip them into an oiled non-stick pan. Then, dip two pieces of break into the eggs and flip them over so they’re sitting in the pan. When the eggs are cooked, turn over the entire thing before flipping one slice of bread onto the other. Feel free to try it with different add-ins like cheese, bacon, or grilled vegetables.

#7: Peeling Hard-Boiled Eggs

Hard-boiled eggs make for a protein-packed snack or breakfast, but peeling them can be a nuisance. This hack to simplify the process skips the peeling step entirely. First, make a small hole in the pointed top of the egg. Then, making a slightly larger hole at the bottom rounded end. Take a deep breath, and blow through the smaller hole until the egg pops out the other end. It may sound unbelievable, but it actually works! Try it for yourself to make breakfast and healthy snacking a breeze.

It’s time to sit down with a refreshing glass of wine after a long day and you realize you forgot to put your white in the fridge. What do you do? Sure, you could pop it in the freezer and tap your foot while you wait or you could fill your glass with ice cubes that will inevitably water down your drink. Ticktockers have offered an alternative though: use frozen grapes. By keeping grapes in your freezer, you’ll ensure you always have the perfect thing on hand to instantly chill a glass of wine without impacting its flavor.

#5: Peeling a Mango with a Glass

Mangoes make a great addition to smoothies, salads, salsa, and more, but it can be tricky to remove all of the fruit from the peel without wasting any. With this hack, you’ll be able to peel a mango in ten seconds flat, using just a standard drinking glass. First, cut the mango in half lengthwise. Then, line up one half with the edge of a glass and slide it all the way down so that the glass slices the flesh from the skin. The mango will fall in one perfect piece into your glass and you’ll be left with a thin piece of peel, reducing waste and saving time.

#4: Separating Eggs with a Water Bottle

Whether you’re making fresh pasta dough, a whisky sour, or an egg white omelet, separating egg yolks and whites can be a pain. Doing it without breaking the yolks (or just making a mess) is challenging, but this hack is here to save the day. Take an empty plastic water bottle and position the opening over the egg yolk. When you release the pressure in the bottle, it’ll suck the egg yolk up, leaving the whites behind. This lets you quickly transfer it to another container for a variety of different recipes.

#3: Juicing a Lemon

You can juice a lemon in a number of different ways, using a handheld juicer, or just your bare hands. But it can be messy and if you don’t own a juicer, and you can end up with seeds mixed in. Nutritionist Jacqui Baihn (jackie bane) went viral on TikTok after posting a video about this simple yet ingenious hack. Simply poke a hole in the end of a lemon using the tine of a fork or a metal skewer and then squeeze the entire lemon to extract the juice. Some say it produces even more juice than doing it the old fashioned way!

Hulling (or desteming) strawberries is a lot of work if you have to do a whole batch at once for jam-making or your next baking project. With this hack, however, you can remove the stem and core in seconds using a regular straw. Use any kind of straw you like, although metal ones are more eco-friendly and perform better because of their sturdy construction. Simply stick the straw into the strawberry’s pointed tip and push it out the other side. You’ll be left with just the fruit with the core and stem removed. #1: Reverse Straining

The Secret To Reverse Psychology | Unveiled

How did we never think of this one before? Many pasta recipes (including Kraft Macaroni and Cheese) call for you to strain the pasta and then return it to the pot. You can simplify this process, however, but reversing the straining process so that the pasta never needs to be transferred. You’ll need a colander that fits inside your pot which you place on top of the pasta and water. Then, drain it into the sink, leaving the cooked pasta behind. While it may not drain the water completely, this works well for recipes that call for a small amount of pasta water.
