VOICE OVER: Ty Richardson WRITTEN BY: Ty Richardson
Welcome to MojoPlays, and today, we're taking a look at every romance option in “Persona 3” and ranking them based on looks, personality, and story. Just don't expect Ken to show up for obvious reasons. He does have one of the best stories of all the Confidants, though. Our list includes Fuuka Yamagishi, Yuko Nishiwaki, Shinjiro Aragaki, Aigis, Yukari Takeba and more!

#13: Koromaru

He is a good boy, but you know why he’s the lowest on the ranking. We ain’t romancing no puppo. That’s sick.

#12: Theodore

Look, we don’t have anything against Theodore. In all honesty, his sultry voice could easily swoon most people. Thing is that he is somewhat awkward to bring on dates. You mean to tell us that this man has never seen a water fountain before? Plus, he makes things super weird when you go to get takoyaki with him. He talks about tentacles and starts pinching your cheek for some reason. Theo’s an okay dude, but honestly, the takoyaki date alone gets him the second-lowest spot on the list.

#11: Fuuka Yamagishi

We can understand why someone might take a liking to Fuuka. Every one of us has had a crush on a super timid girl at one point or another. However, it isn’t the nervousness or even the times when she is way too forgiving. The real problem is availability. Girl, how do you expect us to bond when your schedule is so jam-packed every single week? Fuuka is one of the toughest Confidants to bond with because of this, and it’s the biggest reason why she’s this low on the list. The lesson here, folks, is to make time for your friends.

#10: Bebe

We gotta give Bebe, or Andre Laurent Jean Geraux a lot of credit. This dude came all the way from France just to attend Gekkoukan High. Moving from one country to another is a lot harder to do than working up the courage to enter a sleazy nightclub. That coupled with his interest in Japanese culture makes him highly respectable. So, why such a low ranking? Well, there is such a thing as being too positive. Seriously, sometimes Bebe’s polite and cheery nature can be a bit much to tolerate.

#9: Ryoji Mochizuki

Whereas Bebe is a bit annoying with the positivity, Ryoji can be too much to handle when it comes to flirting. To his credit, Ryoji is a kind person. Spend some time with him, and you will see that he isn’t as big of a pervert as he may seem. He really is a caring person. Admittedly, after the trip to Kyoto’s hot springs, it does get harder to warm up to him let alone defend him. Still, if you can put up with his flirts, the ugly duckling does blossom into… eh, a better-looking duck?

#8: Yuko Nishiwaki

Join the track team, and you’ll be able to meet this fine, young lady. Yuko is great simply because of the drive she wields. As manager of the track team, it’s almost expected of her to live and breathe the sport. Love the passion! But her biggest fault is her temper. There are times when her anger shows over mild nuisances. Everyone has lost their cool over the dumbest things, but with Yuko, this temper works for and against her.

#7: Elizabeth

Theodore was strange enough. Elizabeth, on the other hand, is a decent step up. Don’t get us wrong - it is kind of weird that Igor’s assistant is datable. She does seem like she has a pulse on how humans behave, a better one than her brother. And there is some charm to her curiosity of the modern world. Our only gripe - and it’s a minor one - is the way she talks. Every sentence she speaks sounds like there’s some mystery to what she’s saying or she’s playing us for fools. It’s hard to tell either way.

#6: Akihiko Sanada

Our poor boy! Akihiko is one of our favorite members of S.E.E.S. all because of his rough and tough attitude. One can be easily intimidated given he is the captain of the boxing club. That status alone tells you he packs a serious wallop. His only problem is that he pushes himself too hard. The first several hours of “Persona 3” are a prime example as he talks about wanting to go back in the field while still recovering from injuries. Dude doesn’t know when to quit, which is a trait we can admire, and dating him is one of the best excuses to play as the female protagonist in “Persona 3 Portable.”

#5: Chihiro Fushimi

As we said about Fuuka, every one of us has had a crush on a super timid girl at some point in our lives. But the difference between her and Chihiro is night and day. See, Chihiro, for as anxious as she might be, still makes a good effort in putting herself out there. Being a part of the Student Council is no easy task, and once you find out about her past, you’ll find her feelings become completely justified. The angry outbursts can be a shock at first, but overall, Chihiro means well and will do anything she can to do what’s right.

#4: Shinjiro Aragaki

At first, we had every right to be suspicious of Shinjiro. C’mon, Akihiko, you expected us to believe a dude we had never seen before actually attends Gekkoukan High? Of course, this is just another example of “you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover”. Underneath the angst and defensive attitude is a guy who wants to treat others with kindness and respect. His story is arguably the best of the romance options, too, so much that we almost don’t want to spoil it.

#3: Aigis

We know, we know - only a dweeb could want a robot girlfriend, and that’s weird. It’s really not like that at all. While the robot powers are cool and all, Aigis is much more than metal with a human-looking face. We’ll admit that some of her advances can be a bit much to the point where it just makes things weird for everyone. But she means well, and some of her faults can be blamed on the way she was programmed. Overall, Aigis has a true heart of gold, and the way her story unfolds into her becoming a bit more human is just too wholesome to ignore.

#2: Mitsuru Kirijo

Some characters (“some” as in “only Junpei”) will tell you just how scary Mitsuru can be. We see it. Mitsuru has a certain tenacity about her, and she can easily command attention just by being silent. It’s not because of her looks, though. When she isn’t leading the Student Council, Mitsuru is instructing and informing us of the Shadows that lie within Tartarus while managing everyone’s health, advising us on our schedules, and so much more. You don’t come across a person with this much thought and initiative often.

#1: Yukari Takeba

What can we say about Yukari? This girl is the biggest sweetheart we have ever met across the “Persona” games! Though she can be a bit hesitant and unsure of things at times, Yukari still works up the courage to follow through. And the way she opens up her feelings to you… It really tugged on our heartstrings. All this coupled with her sense of fashion and excellence in combat, well, it’s not hard to see why so many view her as the best character across every iteration of “Persona 3.” Which Confidant is your favorite in “Persona 3?” And how are you liking “Reload?” Let us know down in the comments, and don’t forget to subscribe to MojoPlays for more great videos every day!
