VOICE OVER: Rebecca Brayton
The Dominican is located in the tropical zone, and therefore has a tropical climate – albeit a mild one. Temperatures below freezing are almost unheard of, except in the country's highest, pine-covered mountains. Rainy season in the Dominican Republic is from May to November, and this added humidity can make temperatures seem hotter. As with much of the Caribbean, hurricanes sometimes damage this country. Peak season for this type of weather is between August and October each year. So, if you're traveling to the DR during this period, be sure to pack an umbrella. In this video, http://www.WatchMojo.com learns more about the endless summer of the Dominican Republic.

Warm Temperatures

Temperatures range by region; however they are rarely warmer than 90°F, and temperatures below freezing are unheard of. The median temperature for the year is a comfortable 77°F, and average temperatures vary by less than ten degrees between January and July. The highest pine-covered mountaintops found in the Dominican Republic are the coldest parts of the country, where temperatures do, in fact, fall below freezing on winter nights.

Humidity and Precipitation

Rainy season in the Dominican Republic is from May to November, and this added humidity can make temperatures seem hotter. Regions along the border with Haiti do not get much precipitation, as compared with the northeast section. This mountainous area is where the Dominican receives the most wet weather. As with much of the Caribbean, hurricanes sometimes damage this country. Peak season for this type of weather is between August and October each year.

Warm temperatures and sunny skies make this Caribbean country a perfect tropical paradise.
